  1. Nice job on that Buick "boulevard barge" Randy.
  2. I'm a retired union sheet metal worker and have worked on residential "tract" homes, custom homes, hotels, Navy barracks, class rooms, and housing, banks, the Federal Reserve Bank, office buildings, churches, schools, strip malls, high end stores, restaurants, convention centers, landmarks, an opera house, factories, hospitals, and a nuclear power plant doing heating, ventilating, and A/C work. I'm sure I left out a few places also. A lot of my work was outside no matter what the temps were, may they be hot or freezing. Since I retired the construction trades have taken quite a "dive" and I happy I got out when I did.
  3. DON'T start using that four letter word around here!
  4. The missing couple of inches along the bottom of the body and fenders were when the car was made into a "match racer" instead of a gasser and yes the blown Hemi was used. Big John went from gasser to match racer and back to gasser in the mid 60's.
  5. Really nice job on that "Black Widow" Drew and I also have been thinking of building some of those older Monogram models right out of the box except for a spray paint job. Those kits were a lot of fun for us back-in-the -day and still can be with no chopping, channeling, engine wireing, plug wires, seat belts, valve stems, etc.,etc.. Just an easy and enjoyable build.
  6. That '53 is lookin' sweeeeet so far, keep up the good work Rich.
  7. This is the oldest build that I have that was built in the early 70's and I sure wish that I had a few more of my older builds.
  8. Thanks, I guess that I'll have to go skirt hunting?
  9. That "A" roadster looks REALLY good!
  10. Good thing that you had reminded me as I did forget and want to include it in my "winter maintenance" for my daily driver. Thanks.
  11. They're all on WLS now, but it'll NEVER be like it was "back-in-the- day" just like we have the modern muscle and that will never be like it was with stop-light drags daily.
  12. Does anybody know what kit those fenders skirts came out of? TIA
  13. I get my hood pins from Pro Tech and I like them alot.
  14. If you only lived in Chicago in the 50's & 60's you would have seen a WORLD of difference as the city was a great place to be back then.
  15. I hafta agree with you as the '61 Dodges & Plymouths were the UGLIEST lokin' Mopars to hit the streets in MHO.
  16. All are good choices, however some like the '68 Coronet, '70 Charger, and '65 Satillite are already in resin kit form. As for more Mopar kits heiitng the shelves in the next few years, dream on...............................as I just don't see it happening which I'm sorry to say.
  17. While I do like Corvettes, not enough to buy one though. If I did, I would lean toward a '58 or '60 'Vette.
  18. This 1950 Studebaker Champion Coupe arrived at my doorstep the other day and will make a great addition to my collection. I wanted the convertible, but when I called I was told that they were no longer available. I do like the coupe very much however. http://s818.photobucket.com/albums/zz104/itsagas1320/?action=view&current=DSC02686.jpg
  19. Dick Biondi is a "living legend."
  20. The tires look great and do you have a website so that we may purchase them?
  21. Okay Harry as I thought that you may have been a couple years older, as when I went to high school Lane Tech was not a coed school as yet.
  22. No girlz at Lane "back in the day."
  23. That '36 Ford would be great in a "tin" Greg with all those parts, really great!
  24. I'm currently working on the Millenium '39/40 Ford kit and it has all the parts as the othe two kits shown if I'm not mistaken.
  25. WLS was great and I spent time at Union Grove (Great Lakes Dragaway) and also Rockford Dragway back in the 60's.
