  1. Sean, I take it that that was possibly a Monday moment........
  2. Sean, I don't see that decal saying that the trailer was from that era, I see it saying that in 1988 Bill was the Winston Cup Champion. I'm not sure they even had those style trailers in 88', much less the truck. Those split axle, smaller wheel units are newer I do believe.
  3. Rich, that is incredible!!!!!!! Nice, clean, old style salty! How fast did they clock it on the runs? Looking for to seeing the two matched up.
  4. All kidding aside, your gonna be hard pressed not to do yellow because of the commonality of it. Not to mention that is what everyone else relates to. However, that being said, go with a classy yellow, or a one tone/shade off yellow that you can really put some accent to.
  5. Isn't it a winch boom? Utilize the equipment. It will pop em outta there.
  6. I have an older Triumph and some other kind. Would have to find to tell, but they are 1/25. Revell I do believe..... Each one was in its own seperate little box. Maybe get a pic tonight if I can find it.
  7. JT, looks great! Could you show a few more pics? The hitch point? Trailer underside?
  8. Chris, I didn't even bother to read your last post. My apologies. That should be what they are though.
  9. Chris, with that name, I am guessing it to be fiberglass truck bed shells. I have seen one similar delivering here in TX. Light load but bulky. They fork them in sideways and close the curtain so the wind won't catch them.
  10. That is quite the oversight on that bumper isn't it. A lot of detail there to miss that! I'd be sending out apologies or something with pictures of it corrected. But, oh well............still a dang cool truck. I don't think I will live long enough to obtain the skills to match it. Don't have that much left in me!
  11. Guys, I don't see that raised section as being a problem. If you look and compare it to the two-tone green that was built by Tom, it is just that, a raised section. The lower dark green on Tom's is also the same as that 1:1. On the extended part all you should need to do is add layers of thin enough sheet to bend to the curves and apply until you have proper thickness.
  12. Jared, just so you are not confused on seeing Eric's wedge trailer with two axles and my advising to go with three, the wedge share the load distribution with the truck axle due to the way one of the cars is halfway over the truck bed. They also make that wedge in a three car which will normally have three axles also.
  13. Good start Jared, but for the length you have, you might consider three axles. Overall weight might need it, just distribution. Everybody and their dog owns some type of gooseneck here in TX, (including me ) and most of the ones I have seen hauling cars with that much length, tend to be running on three.
  14. How many trainer does it take? lol Or is it 1 traner with several trainees? That would suck.
  15. I just bought one of these as well, but mine will be a little tougher. someone had opened the box. swapped in wrong tires and wheels and the etched stuff is gone. got all the styrene though. Cant complain too much, paid $7 for a good base for a tool rig or something. Thinking of converting the box to a service truck. Or just swap for parts. Any takers?
  16. Looks great George, a little different that what I see on the Union Pacific lines out here in Texas, but maybe they are different in the different regions. All of the livery here is base white then lettered. Haulers for big equipment, maint of way rigs, you name it. Base white, then lettered.
  17. Rich, I had an old AMT scrap visor laying around. I took some small scrap pcs and just glued them flat onto the ends. I then used a little bit of rotary file/Dremel finesse and reshaped the corners to fit the cab. Not a lot of work. End results were pretty good in my opinion. The cool thing is the center still fits the cab with the angles. Here it is:
  18. AF reserves. Was 10 years active and will retire this summer by adding 13yrs reserves. I go to Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City for all my duty.
  19. Jim, I am out of town on reserve duty and the internet finally cooperated. This is the ticket. You rock. Thanks for the link. Perfect!
  20. I have a complete ERTL International Transtar Eagle 4300, as far as parts go. But I was about to start it and found out the instructions are not there!!! Anyone???? Need help!
  21. Anthony, the Cruiseliner will get a stretched tanker, (a little extra frame for a third axle behind the tank) and then a shortened tandem. A-B unit.
  22. Rich, it's a home built. I was looking on line at various lift axles and came across a company that makes several different versions of self steer lifts. Got to looking at em and all they are is a steer axle with some type of spring/shock/or hydraulic tension arm attached just like steering linkage. I used a spare front axle and took a Peterbilt rear shock and cut the triangle base off then re-positioned it in-line with the frame and connected a steering link to it. The suspension is from a Peterbilt as well. All I did was REALLY shorten the bags to get them noticeably higher to show them in the up position.
