  1. Thanks guys! As soon as I get off work, I need to put some boards on my porch then I should be able to get WIP pics. I think I'm going to keep it fairly simple though. Gonna leave the floater axle off the rear trailer. I already have everything else on hand. Barry
  2. Been on vacation, or at work, or military reserve duty all summer! Finally getting to work on some stuff. Gonna get this one started and post pics tomorrow. Didn't get time to take em tonight. Building a DROM using the AMT MACK Cruise Liner. Have extended the frame and have a picture from Martin Phippard's Truck picture collection of a Frieght Liner Dual Drive as inspiration. http://www.hankstruc...ms/file0011.jpg Wish me luck. Barry
  3. I agree with Tim and I did the same you did Johnny, except I got the Freight Shaker dual drive instead. Was gettin too nervous of not being able to find it soon without paying through posterior for it! Already have one, but it is heavily modified and I wanted a box stock version. Good luck on yours Johnny. Barry
  4. Robdot, I will never, ever touch acrylics again. I accidentially grabbed one for some interior work I was doing and it was the worst flowing/spreading paint I had ever seen. Some swear by it, but you won't get me to vouch for it. Barry
  5. Already there. I looked at the titles and the last one was photo tips. Barry
  6. Olds Rocket, I use Testors Model Master brush paints by puting a small amount of thinner straight into the bottle and then I made a lid with a suction tube for my airbrush. Take off the lid, go to town. Flows well and best thing in my opinion is you can mix any color you want! Makes things easier than searching store to store for that color you want. Barry
  7. basher, I see all of that in the "New to the Forum? Read this first." just under "General" Barry
  8. By the way, Barry, that is not directed towards you, it's for all girly Super Dutys everywhere! Also, Barry, my 1990 dually wishes it could have the goodies yours does, I'm lucky I have a radio!!
  9. Check the end joint on the steering linkage and the grease zerks on the door hinges. It's real. Barry
  10. To jump in on the Super-Duty convo.........if you have the right version, I would say you could still call it a Super-Duty. I have a 2000 F-350 crew cab dually with the bullet proof 7.3 liter Powerstroke with a ZF-6 manual trans. It only has the newer version of the XLT package of pw, pl, and cruise. Otherwise it has no extra factory frills. It has a push bar style grill guard with a louvered V-gate. It looks rough around the edges compared to the newer ones. Barry
  11. I'm just wondering how your driver's gonna wash that truck? I prefer to unhook the trailer to do that. Kinda hard without landing gear! Barry
  12. Not kids bed......giant soap box derby. I have seen 12 year old kids build the small versions with more detail than that. In fact I helped my son build an "ECHTO 1" that had some pretty good results on the track. And in case your wondering............... no I did not take over and do the whole thing. It was a team effort.
  13. Eagle, I like the trailer. However, I really like the tractor drawing to test paint combos. Is that computer generated? Downloadable? Be great to play around with. Barry
  14. My advise would be to turn it upside down, eye drop a couple of drops of thinner in the gap. Then let it set for a little bit, and then get one of those rubber lid grippers that you can get from "Bed Bath and Beyond" and grunt a little. (The grunting is required. lol ) This has worked for me in the past. Barry
  15. Hey Mike(MLB), I looked at the home page for that web site. It shows to have been last updated in Dec of 2003. Not only was the announcement and release of the kit a flop.........but it looks that web site is too. Been ignored for quite awhile. Barry
  16. My stash is an accumulation of over thirty years of collecting and then the USAF causing me to stuff them all into boxes and puting it all in storage when I got stationed in Japan. Starting getting out the old stash and adding to it earlier last year. Thats most of it. A few more file cabinet drawers here and there. its hard to find a spot for them all. Building a new hobby room now that will fit tons, but slow going. Barry
  17. With honor and dignity......YOUR WELCOME. My pleasure. Thank You for the acknowledgment. TSGT Barry Bond E6 USAF Reserves. 10 yrs active duty then became a Peace Officer past 11 yrs AF Res/Police 21 yrs total federal military service
  18. Does anybody know what the original is for these? I cant even phathom what they started as. Barry
  19. Rodney, just a thought, but what about reducing that wind resistance footprint with a chop top, or channel the middle. Its already lowered, make the top lower too. Barry
  20. Donald, unfortunately events such as yours are what fortunately keep guys like me with a pay check and money for bills. (PD) In response to the reply of checking pawn shops.... in TX the pawn owners cannot tell you one single thing unless your name is on the pawn card. However, they are required to hold the items for, I believe it is at least 30 days, in the back to not be for sale to the public. Provides two things. 1) The original owner to get it back out. 2) Our detectives have a special squad that have an awesome repor(sp) with the managers to compare with recent cases. Best advise.....check with your PD, make sure they open a case and ask what they do with local pawn shops to try and recover your stuff. For those of you reading this, I can not stress enough to keep a log of your stuff. Take two extra minutes when you bring home that new item and jot down its specifics. Just like an ad for a car for sale. Make, model, serial #, color, and brief discription. If you are one of those that updates your version of items from time to time.......that should be noted. For ex: I have two PS-2 players in my house. #1 has pop up disc access, #2 has the slide out drawer for the disc. Just helpful info for your case if it unfortunately were to happen to you, which I pray it does not. Donald, sorry for the stupidity of others and their total disregard for your property. I hope you recover without too much stress. Regards Barry
  21. Greg, I like the idea. I will try and post more pics of the "Doesn't mean you should". Lets keep it going and get others opinion of the quirkiness this free country has in store. Barry
  22. Dave, had a question for you or maybe even Tim if he reads this. It has not been clear to me on the material of the Lone Star. Is it a full resin kit or a poly kit? I don't know where I got the confusion, but if you could clear the air on that for me, I would appreciate it. Thanks Barry
  23. Wayne, being a LEO as well, brings on the question of why just by the nature of the position. But it holds true that the deepest thoughts and concerns of others are a mystery to all but themselves and God Almighty. At this point, his family and friends such as you just need each other to get through this devastating event. Please know and trust that all involved are in my prayers. Be a blessing to those around you through your love and support.. Be safe and have a Blessed and Merry Christmas. Your Brother in Blue Barry
