Revell customer service vs. Round 2's
mike 51 replied to unclescott58's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That sounds odd at first but it may well have been easier>cheaper to do it that way...at least when postage was cheaper? -
Revell customer service vs. Round 2's
mike 51 replied to unclescott58's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I used Revell's customer service twice in the last several years...they were very responsive. I've never used any others... -
The grille is supposed to be in 4 equal sections...they missed this measurement and made the headlight surrounds way too big. You're right, there's nothing wrong with the headlights themselves. Hopefully a resin caster will offer a corrected grille soon....Moebius doesn't seem interested.

Monogram from the begining

I had one of those in the 50's...building it was when I learned a lot of "cement" melted plastic quite badly.... -
Very clever....

Nice job (but it's a 63) About a million years ago I saw this car run at Fontana Raceway in a match race with Tom McEwen (sp?) in his 65 hemi-Cuda. Arnie ran and broke the white 64 GTO and then used the 63 as backup. I can't remember who won the match tho...

Hey Roger how 'bout dropping that truck back on it's wheels n taking a couple of pics...looks interesting even with all the "issues"..

The grille is supposed to be 4 equal sections on the 69..but they aren't.so the headlight doors look cartoonishly large. I wish I could ignore them but I can't. These trucks are still very common where I live..we see 'em everyday. Hopefully the aftermarket will fix what Moebius couldn't/wouldn't. See the 1-1 reference shots in the truck reference thread. The mistake is plain as day...

But the F100s are a big hit...another victory for the "it's good enough" approach to producing models. No chance of them "fixing" all the errors now with all the $$ they're raking in...it's too bad, it could've been so nice.

So you really think it's "appropriate" to discuss model cars here,Greg? What if the kit manufactors thought you had a good idea and they proceeded to produce a kit the not *everybody* wanted? Golly at least you post "pitchers" for those who hate to read.... -
engine options / choices ........Ford only

Oh well...I find the term "late model" confuses me sometimes, without thinking I guess the 90s are late models to me. At least we id'd the pushrod motors if anyone else was curious. -
I agree..I think the 29 roadster will be a hit...My only concern about it (and the coupe) is that it doesn't have a stock fender option (and providing accurate ones would be a major rework to the frames n body on the roadster) which may limit the interest in them. I'd love to see Revell do a line of 34s like they have with the 32's....but that could take years I might not have.

I've got several of the roadsters (not the "roaster") and 3 windows but just one woodie. Oddly enough I've only noticed those parts in the woodie. I'll look again..... Not in the roadster or the 3 window. But it's in the 5 window kit..I missed the sedan when it was out so I've never seen what's in that box. So out of the 5 ..only 2 don't have it.(the 2 I knew best) Do you have the sedan kit? Hope all this helped the OP.
