  1. To finish anything. Hopefully in time for the San Antonio IPMS show. Find an Italeri 275GTB. Brew more beer and mead
  2. Make one in 1/24.
  3. Tom Kren stole a Malibu?
  4. Enlarge those wheel openings. Show off those monster meats.
  5. We've all done it. I'm on a machining forum and the mods deleted 2 of my posts and apologized to the new guy whose feelings I hurt. (To be fair, he did everything wrong that he possibly could have in writing an OP. That's right; I'm a jerk and I have no apologies!). So just relax. Pick up some Fuller's London Porter on your way home tomorrow, and chill out. Hey- why not stop by the PSAB Chat Room on Saturday night? Remember the time difference. No one is there during the daytime. http://client.sigmachat.com/sc.php?id=12510
  6. I think that's an awesome idea, Gregg. I'm looking forward to those articles. I love the magazine already. Articles like that will only make it better. Kudos for a great mag and forum.
  7. I was talking to someone on a completely unrelated forum. Model cars came up and he said he just threw away a bunch of kits he built in the '60s and '70s, including a Petty Charger "...it was a clear see through bodied one, in a larger scale."
  8. Austin will likely lose its last "real" hobby shop on December 31st. They are calling it quits due to slow sales over the last 2 years. It is up for sale, but I have to wonder if they will find a buyer in this slow economy.
  9. i dont understood. why somebuddy wood cut up a gud caddilac... Oh I can't do it. Nice work, man. I like your green hearse, too.
  10. BigPoppa- I don't have photos of the clamps, but here's a cargo box I made for a model work truck. The clamps were a huge help. Just glue one joint at a time, then add bracing. Use thick sheet plastic, too. It may take a couple of tries, but it's not impossible. Hey- someone has to build the masters for all those resin kits.
  11. What roof is that? It looks wild!
  12. Woohoo! Gregg pinned it. First question for '09 contest; will you allow large scale?
  13. I think this is a really cool idea that "fell through the cracks". I'm going to PM Gregg to see if he can make it a sticky. I'd like to ask if the organizers would consider restarting the contest, or at least setting up a 2009 version.
  14. First I've see of it too. Maybe the organizers can do a "reboot". It's the coolest idea I never heard of.
  15. Truck topper? Just scratchbuild it. It's just a box. The hardest part is getting the 90 degree angles. There are clamps made just for this, however. I got mine at King's Hobby in Austin, TX. Give them a call at 512-836-7388.
  16. That's really nice. What Tamiya color did you use for the body?
  17. I don't have that kit yet. Can you show a side view of the stock kit? What is wrong with the chop as it is in the box?
  18. IIRC, there's a real rat rod in New Zealand with a setup like this. There's also one, also in New Zealand, with an old Cadillac engine like this.
  19. That's some really nice work.
  20. Don't steer away from copper. It's perfect for model cars. It can be (relatively) easily shaped, easily cut, and easily soldered together. Brass is good for panels that don't have a lot of curve in them. Here's a stretched hood for Revell's 1/8 scale '32 Ford. It's 3/4" (6 scale inches) longer than stock. New hood beside stock. Also pictured is the hammer I used to shape it and the chunk of cold-rolled steel I used to hammer it out on. If you want, I can give more details later. I'm on my way out the door to take my dog to play with her friend Daisy the Doberman.
  21. Try ebay also. There are often Ardun heads, with or without a S.C.o.T. blower.
  22. Darn. I thought DVD had a single worldwide format. I'l check out the link. Thanks.
  23. Years ago a friend from Oz sent me a copy on VHS but that is long gone. I've been wanting to watch it again. Is it available on DVD?
