  1. How about simulated rivets? They are made as small as .020", maybe smaller. Or a small punch and die set.
  2. No one is going to sell the ferrules by themselves. I suspect that by the time you buy 8-12 fittings, you could have used that money on cnc-machined scale velocity stacks. The guy who used them on a model probably had access to old fittings that were getting thrown away.
  3. Could you be more specific? Swagelok's site lists 7937 products under "fittings".
  4. Gary- A great place to get spare parts is other kits. You might only need the tires, but you will get the entire rest of the kit for your stash of spare parts. Also look on ebay in the model section for "junk yard". There are always several auctions for built models and or parts, usually with something in common, i.e. muscle cars, drag cars, etc. I've never looked for off-road junk yards, but I'll bet you could find one sooner or later. If you can get to a big model contest, they usually have a swap meet. You can find lots of out-of-production kits and even some junk yard-type sales.
  5. No, it didn't, but nice way to work politics into this thread. Moron.
  6. Is that a Curtis Mathes TV???

  8. I thought you were quitting as Moderator.
  9. Why is this everybody's pet issue? You are not a moderator. Your stock doesn't decrease in value because of this. Don't worry about it. I hate non-descriptive thread titles...like this one. You don't see a weekly rant from me. Get over it!
  10. I've tried to quit being a jerk, really I have. I just don't know if I can change my basic nature.
  11. Banned Camp. Yeah, I know, my name is not really Emil Schuffhausen, but I'll never get a Mail Fraud notice for using a screen name from a funny movie.
  12. Possibly because you shut down threads and you seem to think he always deserves one more chance.
  13. Just my opinion, but if you use more modern wheels & tires, you'll make it look like a model of a kit car, rather than a customized Auburn...and there's nothing wrong with adding a bit of personal flair to a coachbuilt car. If you're replacing them because the kit parts are poor-quality, I could send you a set of wheels and tires from any number of other pre-war classics. I have at least one of just about every pre-war classic model ever made, along with lots of spare parts.
  14. Desperate times call for desperate measures. In a museum in Germany, I saw a pre-war Maybach that had the back of its body cut off and replaced with a cobbled-together circular saw. The owner's Reichmarks became worthless after the war but he still had his material possessions. He drove around cutting up firewood in order to feed his family.
  15. He's had his day more than once. There's a moderator here who keeps closing threads about him.
  16. What is the maximum effective range of an excuse? Zero meters
  17. FYI- The main plate can be had as a "sub plate" that some machinists bolt on to a mill table for more options in work holding. I've seen a few on ebay, but they are not cheap. However, a used sub plate could very likely cost less than a made-to-order chassis jig plate. I even have a small one for my Sherline mill. I was thinking about making the L-brackets and trying your idea.
  18. Buy the 1/8 chassis and the soon-to-be released 1971 Barracuda to go with it I was one of the initial 'cuda buyers. I need to get the chassis and a blown hemi now.
  19. In my mind is an image of Molly Sims, but I don't think I could post that image here.
  20. I don't think you'll really ruffle any feathers. They may wonder why a 5-year old wasted a kit, but that's about it.
  21. Why do we never see posts that start with "In ModelMartin's defense...", or "In Don Holthaus's defense...", or "In Norman Veber's defense..."? Why is it always Reliable Resin?
  22. Very nice work. The dragsters are beautiful with those wheels.
  23. Man, that is neat. Your work is always interesting.
