  1. When did the 4-link suspension become available? By the way, thanks for all the info. Learned a lot from this thread.
  2. Hello. I am wondering whether I can use tamiya fine primer underneath duplicolor perfect match lacquer. I've heard that perfect match lacquer can ruin plastic if painted without primer, but can it ruin tamiya primer, which I assume are made for their enamel paint? Thanks
  3. Wow. Just WoW. Is that gloss or semi-gloss black?
  4. Any word on a stock 40 Ford Coupe being released any time soon? This is the one I'm referring to: (Picture not mine)
  5. Sooo where's the model and how did you manage to photograph a real car on it's side like that?
  6. I really wish they would rerelease this version:
  7. ^ I was thinking if not the Tudor flathead, I'd use the Ardun from the Ford F1
  8. Would the flathead from Revell's 32 Tudor be authentic for 50's era engine with all the speed parts and tranny that it uses? It was thinking that it wouldn't make sense to try and be authentic with suspension and then throw an engine in it with mods that weren't available in the 50's.
  9. I love baby Lincolns. Too bad there isn't a kit of them.
  10. Nice. I'd love to see more.
  11. What front and rear shocks should I use? Right now I have no rear shocks, and not sure if the kit front shocks are a accurate for a 50s style rod. Thanks for all the input by the way. You guys are awesome
  12. Wow. All I have to say is do you have more?!? I love it
  13. I found this on HAMB. Maybe someone will be interested. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=136377&showall=1
  14. I would like to start off by saying that I have seen many of your under glass and WIP threads; your models building skills and style inspire me. I appreciate your input. I was planning on raiding my '31 Tudor for parts, but wasn't sure how to go about it. Is there a WIP thread for your buggy thread? I'd love to watch it.
  15. Thanks for all that information. I was planning on doing 50's style. I understand what you're saying about the suspension now. All that time I spent on HAMB and didn't even realize the suspension on these kits was wrong. I guess you learn something new every day.
  16. ^Thanks, but could you elaborate about not being able to build a traditional hot rod out of it because of the suspension? I was going to throw in a flathead from a Revell '32 Tudor, '40 dash and steering wheel from Revell's '32 5-W Coupe, and steelies with tires from the same 5-W kit. Is this the only kit with "wrong" suspension for a traditional rod, or do all Revell's '32 Fords have the same issue? Thanks
  17. Has anyone ever built this kit? Does it have the same chassis as most other Revell 32 Fords? Any known issues with it? Built pictures are welcome. Here is the picture of the kit in question: (pictures are not mine)
  18. Since we're on the subject, I nearly ordered from ModelRoundup a couple times, but decided not to after seeing their shipping calculator nearly double the price of my orders. When I shop online, I usually go with JimnOhio. He has a decent selection, but his prices are very good. Have been buying from him for more than a year with no problems. Hope this helps.
  19. ^ I wasn't sure if the tires in the picture came from the same kit, but thanks
  20. Would anyone happen to have pictures of these wheels? They seem interesting. Actually, just today I almost purchased this same kit, but decided not to since I have a different reissue of it with flat racing rims.
  21. I have the Goodguys version and I think it's a great kit for anyone who's into hot rod pickups. Mine didn't have "multiple engines", but it did have multiple accessory options for the engine, like the carbs and exhaust. Not sure if you're referring to multiple full engines or just the options. As others have mentioned, it's probably better to buy the version of this kit that just came out since its common and a lot cheaper than the older version. Hope this somehow helped
  22. Does it come with 1 or 2 sets of tires?
  23. In my personal opinion, 48 Fords weren't all that good looking stock, but they look amazing as 50's period kustoms. I don't think many people would buy a stock 48 Ford kit, but this kustom one has great subject matter and appeals to far more people. I think that's the reason Revell made this kit kustom only. Most of them were chopped back in the day anyways, so it wouldn't make sense if Revell put out the stock body with just custom parts.
  24. EDIT: I just compared the AMT kit and Revell Goodguys kit side by side and the grill is pretty much the same size so it wouldn't be difficult to use the AMT grill on the revell kit, as long as you change the hood too since it's a little different. There is also a Revell 1940 Deluxe convertible. I haven't opened mine yet, but I guess it wouldn't be too hard to swap front from the Deluxe to a Standard. This is the kit I'm refering to
