1/25 Revell '03 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon
Lownslow replied to truckaddict's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
the wheels ruined the kit first thing i did was throw out the crappy beadlocks i swapped them for some ANMT Nascar COT wheels -
Not really since theyre diecast based they look pretty terrible, probably use the aoshima lifted hilux ones after modifying the tire.

That would be a little far fetched though since Dom knew he passed in Drift, what im interested is how 7 gonna play out and whether they pick Sean for the crew or not.

Hot Wheels inspired Shelby Gt500 Mustang updated to a 2015 version
Lownslow replied to Lownslow's topic in WIP: Model Cars
someone on this board says 3D printed parts dont clean up well -
Its my gift to my dad for fathers day he loves stangs, The build is a take on this i drew some wheels resembling the hot-wheels wheels and keeping the HW tradition i made them staggered in size so theyre 18/20 They were designed for revell tires but revell tires ended turning it into a monster truck with the craptastic sidewalls so i switched to some aoshima tires now it looks a lot more presentable im gonna go with the HW color scheme with a matching interior. heres how it looked on the Revell Avis Rent a car tires.

Casting tires is a headache molding is a bigger headache especially when making multiple molds of the same part it gets really annoying to make the same setup out of clay, after some thinking i came up with this setup its not 100% permanent but it wont get destroyed after one pour. Youre gonna need wax, double boiler set up, basic clay tools and some shapes to pour them in rather than trying to carve a circle out of wax i used the master itself then its always a perfect fit for the most part you dont have to mold release anything but the cup and tire. first get the wax nice and melted pour a little into the cup and master the tire it cools in about 20 minutes after their both cooled solid use some melted wax to seal them together heres the part on the fixture once poured i can flip the tire and re pour a new mold i got lazy rather then using glue to fix the base to the mold box i poured some wax in there to seal it here it is without the mold box.
