  1. Actually that is accurate for one style of fan like that. They attach with plastic fasteners or other fasteners if you want more permanent. But as a rod builder I would say the us of dual fans and a shroud or a pusher and puller fan. Not sure that one will cool it enough. Looks good though. But I know he is building it to his 1:1 car so maybe that is what he has and it works?
  2. Here is how it is done in real life. You need the complete front end assembly including the radiator support. Not sure how the models will work. If I were doing it I would use the rear flares and then use bondo to make the rocker and lower door trim. That is just me and have never attempted this on a model just thought I would throw my 2 cents out there. And on a real one if they use 2nd gen Escalade kit it is done by using custom fenders or cutting the front fenders on both vehicles in half and grafting them together. And the reason the Escalade kits bumper and stuff is wider is to accomodate the flares. Now if you want you could also do like I have seen and cut a section out of the center so you don't need flares.
  3. Nice rig man. Can't wait to get back from this deployment in Kosovo and start building again.
  4. Awesome job. I always loved this body style for trucks, deliveries and subs. A canvas side fruit delivery truck was another option. Loving these so much only brought up one thing you seem to have missed the double pinstripe on the rims. How small can you do pinstripes lol. JK. It looks great though. Good job.
  5. The scoop should be an easy fab for the fact that there are no rounded corners. Will it have the sliding door windows too?
  6. That is a serious build man. Keep up the good work. This has given me inspiration to build the two 58 Chevy's I want to build once I get my Rod shop off the ground. One is a 4 door cruiser like I had in high school (and I am only 32 ) with a triple carbed hi-po 235 blueflame I6 and a 3 speed an the tree with OD. The other is a 2 door SC with a twin rotrex supercharged EFI 409 backed by a 6 speed and a Halibrand Quick Change rear.
  7. I think it looks great man. You putting the skirts back on. I would not personally. Rarely ever saw one with skirts just the disks. I always have love the Potvin blower set up. I have custom 42 Chevy I designed with a 346 Caddy flathead and a potvin blower.
  8. So do I, man. So do I. They don't build them like they used to. Too bland now.
  9. Easy interior huh? Sheetmetal must be easy to replicate. Have never done it.
  10. OK. Not a fan of the blue...but this color combo works together. Is it a truckline color or custom combo? My dad wanted to paint the 59 Chevy 4 door Bel Air I restorodded for him this blue. I told my uncle "No way in Hell". So we used New GM Indigo metallic with 3 stages of pearl.
  11. First time I saw one of these I was like what the hell. I never new they made these in a notchback. I thought they were all ugly fast backs. These look good with the front end. I saw it at a hotrod shop a few years back.
  12. Yeah if you look at all the patents through the whole site they got some cool stuff and then of course some really off the wall stuff that you know why it did not catch on lol.
  13. Thanks man. By the way if anyone is wondering on the first truck the rear wheels are intentionally bigger. Kinda got the idea from the 67 Chevy on Fast and Furious 4.
  14. Here is some pics and a website I found with vintage truck patents and many other patents. http://patentroom.com/cars
  15. This page has patent design plans that are highly detailed. The Texacostreamline fuel tanker designs are included in here. http://patentroom.com/cars
  16. Hey all. If you follow this link that I found about 8 years ago there are patent style drawings of buildings to download. The link I posted is to the service station part of the site but if you go to the home page they have patents for everything from soda hops to vehicles. They are detailed too. I use them for a lot of drawings I do and architectural plans for my hotrod shop. Enjoy. http://www.patentroom.com/architecture/gasstations.html
  17. I would venture a guess that the inspiration came from this design and plan correct? http://www.patentroom.com/architecture/patents/shell-service-station.html
  18. Hey, all. I am looking for suggestions for building a scale model of my rod shop I want to build "Infuzion Streemachines". I am going to start working on the model when I move to Tennessee at the end of the year. The basics are I want the front to look like the porcelin fascade Texaco gas stations of the 40s and 50s. The rear will be a 2 story steel building. The station part is going to house a hotrod parts store and automobile memorabilia. The rear will have machining equipment to include lathes and a cnc machine. Also it will have english wheels and other body tools. It will also house a wood shop and paint booth and upholstry shop. The station will have 2 Tolkeim style sight glass pumps and a porceline 40s style pump and numerous Texaco memorabilia and pop machines and othe period correct stuff. This will be my shop at its full potential. Gotta start out small. The steel building will be roughly 100x the width of the station which will be roughly a 2-4 stall. Not sure yet.I also plan to build the 1950 Chevy COE tandem axle tow truck and a 1938 Dodge tandem axle gas tanker with trailer. This will be the first diorama me and my wife have ever built. Looking at 1/24 scale. I am not sure what to use for material and where to get all te accessories including lights, outlets, etc. The bathrooms will be furnished 40s-50s style. Thanks for the ideas. This link is to the trucks, pumps and a few styles I am thinking about. I like the rounded corner style stations and it will definately have a awning from the station to the pumps. http://s275.photobucket.com/albums/jj291/ARTEMIS1759/Shop%20Stuff/
  19. Somebody must have hooked up the stereo wrong since their on with no one in the car, lol.
  20. I have the L700 kit and I would have to agree. This is probably the best route.
  21. OK thanks.
  22. OK so what would it cost me for you to send me one of these. I love Texaco.
  23. I drew a pic like this a long time ago. But the split was front to rear. This would be a cool design. The pic was called "Hot rodders. America's first recyclers."
  24. Great Job! I prefer 20's 30's 40's and 50's Texaco stations but this is nice none the less.
  25. Lol. I love to draw. Been drawing since 7. I was self taught.. Took a few art classes but they always pissed me off. So I did my own thing.
