  1. Sweet Car. Looks good.
  2. Great build James. When people ask why the right front tire don't sit flat just tell 'em it had a whole shot off the line and with so much torque the frame twisted. As I recall that is how they twist when they come off the line.
  3. Thats why they look different in the same year. I had not researched that yet. I may have to scratch build and do a pic and pull I guess lol.
  4. Is there any of these resin bodies or kits out there? I am sure I could use the 39 Chevy chassis for it. I am looking to build a fenderless street rod with a triple carbed (or more) inline 6.
  5. That looks geat. Can you do a thread on the weathering? When I get home from this deplyment I am putting together the Dodge L700 flatbed with the 40 on the back.
  6. Hey, Greg just curious why the windshield looks a little whacked on top?
  7. Thats some good work. Little bit of history on a side note. The reason some cars were sectioned like this with a stock height top by customizers was to give them more of a european look.
  8. Wide body Supra's and 3000 GTOs are awesome.
  9. That turned out sweet. Only question I have is what happened with the rear shock mounts and shocks?
  10. Uh oh. Must have been used for some serious hauling offroad. Looks like the front axles broke... . Nice build. Looking forward to seeing it finished.
  11. Just what I was going to suggest. Also the GMC Terradyne had the track doors like the ones you are talking about: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://files.conceptcarz.com/img/gmc/thumbnail_img_0_gmc-terradyne301_01.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/z450/GMC-Terradyne-Concept.aspx&usg=__x4s3r0HO4s_H46E8IwVFQQh4x-8=&h=90&w=120&sz=35&hl=en&start=10&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=vSnkpF5eOVM_gM:&tbnh=66&tbnw=88&prev=/images%3Fq%3DGMC%2Bterradyne%2Bdoors%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Dcom.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox%26tbs%3Disch:1
  12. Good reconstruction. Back on the right track. Can't wait to see this finished.
  13. Neither, if you are building a custom. If you want a nice two tone do the whole top white or black. Customs did not really run 2 tones until the 60s.
  14. Thats correct. They terminate under the firewall. Interestingly I always thought this had a raised A arm front suspension which was the alternate to the straight axle since the front end is way lower then a normal straight axle. I think you got the stance nailed down though. Just need to kick the 4 link back with longer bars and different mounts, Check out this illustration: http://media.photobucket.com/image/2%20lane%20blacktop%2055%20front%20suspension%20photobucket/Brock_62/55/Two_Lane_Blacktop_55_front_up.jpg http://media.photobucket.com/image/2%20lane%20blacktop%2055%20front%20suspension%20photobucket/Brock_62/55/Two_Lane_Blacktop_55_front_down.jpg This ink is how the car looked in the 80s when it was convered back to the AG days and before some idiot put a camaro subframe under it to make it more streetable. The side view is a few pics down. http://twolaneblacktop.yuku.com/topic/35/t/Now-In-Canada-TLB-39-55-Was-Modified-Some-More.html AND ANOTHER LINK TO THE RESTORATION THAT SHOWS THE AXLE: http://twolaneblacktop.yuku.com/topic/26
  15. Sweet Rommell you guys are inspiring me to get back into some serious building since I can't build a 1:1 yet when I get home. See how detailed I can get. Though my squad leader wants to sell me a 72 Buick GS with a 350 in fairly good condition for 1000 dollars. Thinking about it.
  16. That's awesome. Looks sweet. Stripes will set the car in a class of its own. Good job.
  17. Thats sweet. i like how you petina'd the paint on the frame where the tires are.
  18. I was thinking that originally but it seems a little shorter. I could be wrong.
  19. If I was to venture a guess looking at a 2003 Beall Tanker with double axle, judging on the length I would say 8400 gals and 2 compartments. A give away is the 2 dump valves on the passenger side. If it had 3 it would be a 3 compartment.
  20. You know for something unique, you may put a set of the yellow racing stripes on the hood (not the roof) and down the back. Just a thought. If the paint you are using is anything like car paint the only thing you can use is a semi or flat gloss clear so it doesn't take away the matte look. I think it would look cool with the yellow stripes though for something different.
  21. Look it even has wood decals like the original, lol. Looking good though.
  22. Did the old Ford get in a wreck there? Might have to call a tow truck. Keep up the good work. It's looking good. The only thing I would have done was used a red chassis. Not sure why but I love green on red after seeing a Pete my dad built that way. But thats just me. Looks good.
  23. This is one of the kits I plan to buy. Nice build. I got some pics of U.S. Army fire trucks for you interested I am going to paste on the 1:1.
