  1. maybe check the closest fabric store? there's probably some ribbon with bound edges (1/2" = seat width???) that would look okay.
  2. wishing you both the best going into the new year.
  3. glad I stumbled upon this thread. I'm getting my "winter modeling goodies" orders together and one was actually going to be to Strada Motorsports. since SM doesn't actually manufacture any of the items which I was considering, I've been able to source them all from other online dealers whom I've previous successful transactions. a definite public service from the MC forum!
  4. why does everyone hate 20-something hipsters?
  5. I was Christmas shopping at hobby lobby today and could have sworn that was on the shelf. all models were marked 75% off, so I think it was only $4.99 with the weekly coupon.

  15. anybody know where he went? he's a YouTube regular - maybe 2 videos per week - and hasn't been around for awhile now. I think he owns an aftermarket parts business - xtreme scale detail - so maybe he's helping santa's elves???
  16. ditto. Chartpak graphic tapes for thin lines in variety of widths. some folks claim bare metal foil is the only good stuff; never used it personally. this fellow has a good tutorial using tape: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mm3I64hLfF0 some good tape tips here, too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqLXyWqkBoQ
  17. heck, I send people free stuff, pay postage, and don't even get a "thank you"
  18. I checked the "firebirds diorama" pictures and they indeed look good. this gave me the impetus needed to give the MCG stuff a try; thanks.

  20. I got this response http://www.smartexpress.co.uk/products/U%252dPol-Aerosol-Plast-%27X%27-4-Fine-Texture.html but haven't tried it. not sure if it's available in the US. anybody ever use this: http://www.modelcargarage.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=63&idcategory= my thought, it's just contact paper?
  21. if this is just your tire collection, I can't imagine how many rooms the other stuff fills!

  23. shouldn't we give Builders (sic) the same lee-way in their attempts at shading et al that we offer when overlooking such things as garden hose ignition wiring (oohhh - aahh), steering wheels set so far they're practically at the back of the seat, and scrub lines well above the exhaust systems? nobody - almost nobody - is going to hit a home run first time at bat
