The Stuff of Nightmares
2000-cvpi replied to slantasaurus's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Those cars are a prime example of why you shouldn't use LSD. They took a nice Lincoln and destroyed it. -
Show Us Your Stash!

It's the same with my son, he's even trained me to subconsciously notice Star Wars Lego's wherever I go. They are everywhere. -

The Lego Death Star is really nice. -
The secret is out!...I'm BATMAN!

Which Batman are you going as? Clooney or Kilmer? -
Does our have a stock hood ? I would hope so, that scoop is too much.

your work bench

My work area in the basement. I've had the table since I was twelve. -
I stopped at an antique mall yesterday and found some neat books and four kits. The books are from the Henry Ford Museum gift shop. The kits are complete abs they were 35.00 for all four.

I guess I need glasses, because I really like this kit. Sure it's not super detailed like some of today's new tool kits. But for it's time and the subject matter it is a good kit. Maybe I am a bit of a rose colored glasses guy, but these are the kind of models that I like lately. They are a challenge, which makes it more enjoyable for me. What fun would it be if kits just fell together every time?

I stopped at Pep Boys to get some Duplicolor clear coat and came home with this instead. It was on clearance because they are getting rid of the models for RC cars.

Okely dokely, I'm staying away from that issue on here. I just hope that Hobby Lobby does not close. I like the 40% coupons too much.

Huh? What is going on?

Hey, it's almost that season; Models!
2000-cvpi replied to FASTBACK340's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I kinda do what squirrel's do to get ready for winter, gather nuts. I prep, paint and get kits ready to be assembled during the winter. Then I put them together when it's cold. It's mostly out of necessity, I paint outside only when it's warm out. Someday I'll get a paint booth and I won't have to do this anymore. -
NOS Barn Finds - Sale Is Next Month
2000-cvpi replied to Lunajammer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The host didn't know what a resto mod is. How hard would it be to find a host that knows cars? It's ruining the show for me. -
NOS Barn Finds - Sale Is Next Month
2000-cvpi replied to Lunajammer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm watching, the show could definitely focus more on the cars. The host that's not Faust or Rut is a idiot. It would be cool to see what happens to these after the auction ends. -
Stopped at my two Hobby Lobby's today, these were on twice marked down clearance. The tire set is the smaller sportsman slicks which I have a lot of use for.

Found this at Home Depot today
2000-cvpi replied to KingSix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That is a cry for help from an adult that wasn't spanked as a child. -
Just googled around a little, I couldn't find anything like what you have. I found old stuff, but nothing that looks like that. Try a separate post, there are lots more knowledgeable guys on here than me.

The sign on the top metal or plastic? Is there any dates on the sign or back boards? I wouldn't think it's worth a ton of money, but maybe fifty dollars. That's just a guess though.

Not true, moody of the time I could found a identical kit online that's cheaper even with shipping. HTU here had the Moebius hornet kit for 33.99 for the regular version. Online with shipping I bought two for 45.00. It wasn't that hard to find either. Another example is the Moebius 55 Chrysler Nascar kit was 44.99 at Hth, that was ridiculous. I get the support local hobby shops, but to me there is a line to be drawn. HTU crosses it for me with kit prices , staff that cares about rc stuff only. My other area hobby shops see me and my money a lot.

That's so cheap it's like stealing. You should but them out and flip them on eBay. Six cans of primer at five dollars each would be quite the profit.

The Most Embarrassing Cars To Drive
2000-cvpi replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I love you more. I really like cars from the early seventies back to the thirties. To me cars started to look alike after WW2, granted it's much worse today. My favorite new ish car would be a 2003-4 Mercury Marauder, they actually have some style and personality. -
The Most Embarrassing Cars To Drive
2000-cvpi replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
So I guess you only drive cars made before 1973? I agree with a fair amount of what you wrote, but there have been some really great looking cars made in the last forty years. To say otherwise would be ignorant. -
I stopped at Hobby Lobby again and picked up one of these.
