Great details on your engine John. Looks like it’s ready to run. I like the right side BMF to me it looks cleaner.

Thanks Mike Thanks Curtis, And thanks again for recommending the 71 Charger.

Dave I checked also there’s none. Patrick it is a picture of a real car and I’m sure your right with it being a custom paint job. Each of the 4 stripes are fogged on the one side with the last one having more fog to it.

Nice interior Ken. I know how you feel with your paint bubbling up I had the same problem with my second coat on the Charger.

Thanks Carl I’m waiting on the weather here to let me spray another coat of paint on it.

Thanks Scott , with the Charger chassis the interior floor is molded in it and the MPC interior tub does not fit with it. I’m using the Charger interior with mine with some modifications. My Hemi is from the AMT 68 road runner. Thanks Patrick, I don’t remember now what I payed for it anymore it was about 10 years ago but it was not cheap. Thanks Dave, I have always wondered about that strip on the front of it and they didn’t even include it on the decal sheet. It looks nice on it and I probably would of used it lol.

Thanks Rusty, I’m going with a factory stock and with Curtis recommendation to use the 71 Charger chassis I’m going to have everything separated now. Thanks Ken it’s going to be fun. Thanks Carl Thanks Curtis, I just happened to have a old built 71 Charger that needed a lot of repair and it’s already purple lol. I’m going to use the Charger chassis and the interior.

I’m still waiting on parts and paint but I decided to change out the tires with the AMT Good Year Polyglas. I had to add some wheel spacers for the rear tires to clear the springs.

While I’m waiting on parts to finish my Charger I decided to build this MPC 1971 GTX. After I saw one in the new issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines. In doing some research I found out that there was 30 Hemi cars built and at least one was Plum Crazy Purple with the white and black interior so I’m going to replace the 440 that came in the kit with a Hemi. I’m also going with the Plum Crazy Purple and black and white interior. I’m using the Air Grabber hood from the 71 road runner kit instead of the 440 hood. I’ve started on the engine to see how it fits and looks like it’s going to be a good fit just need to make some engine mounts. I also added some filler panels in the engine bay to fill in the gaps. I’m probably going to stay with the molded in chassis. As always your comments are always welcome and appreciated.

Ken looks like you had to tow your old GTX in from storage lol. Still looking good for being 35 years old! Looking forward to seeing what you do with the new one. By the way I’m also starting on a 71 GTX.

Getting closer Ken with this Cuda. I like your colors and the side billboards.

Joe your clear coat looks nice and shiny plus it really makes the red pop. -
Looking good Ken looks like you have a couple spare Mopar engines sitting there.

Thanks Joe I’m going to have to put a second coat on it so it may turn out a little bit darker. Thanks Dennis this is my second 70’s Charger and I want it different from my first one that has the magnum wheels plus I had the rally wheels leftover from a 70’s Cuda. Thanks Ken

Thanks D Spencer Carl I used the Molotow chrome pens. Thanks Mike Thanks Dennis

I used all my blue paint when I sprayed the body and I was doing a light wet sanding on the body and burned through in a couple places. I was afraid of that it seamed like the paint was thin in some places so I’ve ordered some more paint. I was able to work on the interior and believe I’m done with it now. I did a test fit to see how the interior fits in the body. So far so good. I just set the wheels to see how it looks.

No problem Mike Dan Thanks Craig
