  1. I concur with the rest! very nice build. I have that kit started somewhere.I think it's been converted to a 2-door.
  2. "i see higher rates on their insurance. " And maybe higher ratings for the show? :D
  3. Very nice and clean build!!
  4. "their "Acrylic" paint is actually an acrylic Lacquer" Really? That's news to me,I thought it was water based acrylic enamel, but the X20 thinner is the only way I could get it to spray well and lay down a great gloss.
  5. Go to Google and google(?) resin casting. You will find many videos on it .
  6. It appears that the desire to part out &/or sell these for reasonable prices was much less than to acquire them.
  7. I have stripped dozens of different resin models with SC or purple power with no damage. You can also strip most resin with lacquer thinner used on a cloth and just keep rubbing it off, then repeat with denatured alcohol and a good soapy bath. Is the resin your contemplating stripping oily feeling? I don't think any stripping procedure will cure that. That is usually the sign of a bad mixture.
  8. Sellers can't leave negative feedback. All they can do is leave a comment about your negative feedback. It doesn't affect your score so what? I left neutral feedback because I thought the seller misrepresented the contents(amount) of the paint I bought. It was funny really as the more he griped, the stupider he looked. Some people on the bay even e-mailed me about it and decided not buy from him because of his actions. And I did e-mail him first to see if he wanted to do anything about it.
  9. The flairs on this were done with styrene of an unknown thickness and about a 1/4 inch wide. I prefer super glue as an adhesive though. After the SG dried the flairs were coated with 30minute epoxy mixed with micro-balloons added and allowed to cure. The filler dripped down and very little sanding was needed. Further shaping brought them closer to the final shape desired.
  10. Here's a link to some foam board already skinned with styrene. http://www.foamboardsource.com/medium---heavy-duty-board--styrene-faced-foam-board--3-16--styrene-faced-foam-board.html
  11. I have their Riviera Wagonmaster resin kit. Well done and was delivered promptly.
  12. IF I could "cobble" like that and with such speed I'd be in hog heaven!! I think you'll be responsible for the scratch-built tables at shows to really fill-up.
  13. I'm a BIG fan of the flexi-files. I'd like to see them in larger frames and wider tapes. Good stuff!!
  14. Impressive, very impressive and a great build. Where does one find a kit like that?
  15. Here's a link to something similar using silicone and cornstarch(I swear!) . Oops! Here it is http://www.instructables.com/id/How-To-Make-Your-Own-Sugru-Substitute/ I switch back & forth between Firefox and Safari to read this forum and just plum forgot.
  16. WOW! I knew plane kits prices were high, but not like this. I'm sure it's worth it though with Tamiya's quality. I checked Great models and they were even higher priced!!
  17. NIIICE fade job!! Now do another and paint it a deep 'burple :D
  18. I have an insulated bathrobe that I throw on when running from the club house heated poll to the hot tub. It's about 5 feet away and I chill easily.
  19. Looks like the Bob Wingate collection?
  20. I really liked this tutorial. There were no fancy electric tools involved and no unobtanium supplies. I was especially thrilled that you used a 3M product as I am a former employee, now retired!

Weeelll... if I ever get back to my 1/16th Predicta.... I do have an MPC 1/16th '57 Corvette kit waiting in the wings.
  22. Sometimes I use a length of sprue just long enough to fit the width of the body inside and use CA glue to hold it,then use the real long hemostat to hold/grip it. Also on REALLY tiny parts a hole drilled into the part where it won't show and a pin or fine wire glued into the hole for something to grip.

"Throw the bubble away cause it sucks. Go to the craft store (I went to acmoore) and they have clear , 2 piece xmas balls for .68 " The bubble hasn't been a problem with mine, but finessing the interior and chassis has,not to mention one of the many paint schemes the car had over it's life span. I did pick-up another one at a show that was cast a little better. You're build has inspired me to look it over again and see if my skills have improved over the years to fix what was bothering me.
  24. When people on Ebay list a model by Revell when AMT is clearly on the box, even memory doesn't work here. He either saw an MPC 1/16th kit and thought it was a Mustang,or he saw the Entex one.
