  1. Sometimes just a good long soak in Super clean does wonders, otherwise I use odorless mineral spirits just dabbed on an allowed to soak in slowly over (sometimes) a very long time. The freezer and water thing has never worked for me,but might have been good for others.
  2. Hmmm. I have an interference blue white pearl in an acrylic white pearl craft color. Might be a good color to try out.
  3. Well I placed my order today . Freeman sure has a weird method for doing business, but it's their business so on we go. The $25.00 sample pack comes out to $40.00 after shipping, tax. etc,. probably taking the secretary out to lunch, you know, business I'll report back when it arrives. Oh and they take credit cards.
  4. You could also paint it Bright red as it was for a movie.Technically, that would be accurate for that specific build. BTW Love that green!! Greens are a favorite of mine, especially when gussied -up with pearls & fogs and fades and...
  5. Drago, I'd go for the Smoothster I built one and actually finished it LOL. It has a beautiful chassis with a few vague attachment points, but it would be nice to see what you would do with it. I'll get some pics of my build up later. I'd like to take another crack at this one,but so much on the plate and so little time.
  6. I did some organizing of my PB account. In it you will see models in various stages of construction (or destuction) some have been seen here before, some not. It's so hot here in the Cactus Patch that I can't seem to get motivated beyond a certain stage so every other day as time permits I'll pull out some models and photograph them.I also need some tips as to WTF I'm doing and settings etc. Currently I have a rag tag setup. I do use a tripod and the timer for hands off shooting and I shoot in the daylight on my screened in patio. Here's the link: http://s1189.photobucket.com/home/mkucaba/index
  7. I just filled out the request for quote form. Let's see what happens.
  8. Nice work Raoul,Actually all your builds that I've seen are stunning.
  9. Well it looks like I'm going to have to use 1/18th scale seat belts as after exhaustive searching, I can't find anyone that makes seatbelt hardware in 1/16th in P/E. Hope that works out.
  10. ALL RIGHT !! EVERYBODY ,DANCE
  11. Replicas & Miniatures does not have a website. The only way to do business with Norm is to call him (410-768-3648) &/or e-mail him at replmincomd@aol.com. He does have a catalog and does take credit cards.e-mail or call & see if he charges for it.It's pretty extensive so he probably does. He has no retail store, and it would probably be a good idea to ask if you could visit. HTH
  12. Well sorry if I offended anyone, but there seems to be way too much negativity about new/old releases and it always seems to be a select few. Go build planes and ships then 'cause it seems that the model car kits are just too : Expensive,or fiddly or simple or whatever. I'm surprised that most if not all model companies aren't out of business in this economy. And the beat DOES go on and on and.... Critiques are one thing, but it's becoming more and more like whining,as if someone's opinion is more valid than others.
  13. Hi Drago, I googled this as I was curious my self and I enjoyed looking at your posts. I have a lot of free time and No TELVISION so I don't mind doing this at all. I don't do it all the time and not for every subject if it doesn't pique my interest. My comment to Greg was meant as a joke/comical reply as I know him somewhat personally here in the heat ravaged desert !
  14. Well Greg it's simple. There are those that make it happen...and there are those that say WHA' HAPPENED!!
  15. And the beat goes on and on and on..... Again I ask, if a reasonably competent modeler built this kit, warts and all, would it be mistaken for anything else but a Superbird?
  16. I think someone on ebay smallblockdodge? Probably others.

  18. Excellent work and execution.
  19. You really don't have to use a primer, but that depends what you are going to apply it to.Metalizer is a plastic safe lacquer. If this is some custom made part with sanding and putty and other stuff done to it,yeah I'd prime it. You mention an engine so how will you prep that? After gluing the block and heads together I usually go over the entire thing with a soft brass brush.Cleans up the raw plastic real nice.
  20. For a start,I'd recommend using something from the same manufacture of the color. You've used HOK color so a good one to go with would be HOK clear. For me personally I use PPG DCA 468 high- performance clear and a couple of their acryllic lacquer thinners DTL 105 and 876. These are shot thru an airbrush or the aircan adapter by Testor's when I'm feeling lazy Always try and test on a plastic spoon.
  21. Very nicely done and your spark plug wires look more in scale than some I see.
  22. Yeah,Me too.Got so much on the plate I wonder if it will ever get done.
  23. Nice job! underneath looks accurate too.
  24. Man, If I smoked,I'd go have a cigarette right about now. Awesome stuff!! An orgy of excellence!!!
