  1. A lot of large scale models suffer from warp when being pulled from the molds,or maybe it's just poor mold design, and bad packaging & storage don't help either. I wasn't aware of any accuracy issues with this kit(Ihave a started one on the ever-larger build pile).I seem to remember some review where it actually was praised. Was this originally a Renwal kit?
  2. Very nice build.Your glossy paint is just fine
  3. It looks like part 37 chevy P.U. and part '33-34 Ford and a whole lotta work
  4. Is this the Revell 1/12th kit.? I see it has the Shelby style hood scoop.
  5. I knew Mike back when I lived in IL. He is out of WI and is one of the better vendors. I don't believe he does any casting, just deals in product. I would give him a positive
  6. Not only does dipping the glass in Future help with the appearance of clear parts,it also makes a great adhesive for windshields and other clear parts.
  7. Two things that will help alleviate this. The apron that goes around the neck, drapes across the lap,and fastens to the bench(velcro). I've also seen an ingenious solution to small P.E. A modeler built a "glove box" type of device from plexi-glass, to do the cutting, trimming, of P.E.There was even a magnifier above it !!
  8. Another excellent W.I.P.!!
  9. Excellent work so far & a great tutorial!
  10. If you were to plan enough in advance, you could maybe cut rings from thinwall plastic or aluminum tubing the same size as the hose, slip this over the hoses before installing them, and add a little detail to simulate the clamp tightening. Heck, you could probably just cut the ring and slip it over the hoses even if they are already installed.
  11. "PS I just wasted a Revell Muscle 06 Mustang GT, so if anyoone happens to have a spare body let me know I would be interested. " What do you mean when you say "wasted"? If all you have is a badly painted body, get some Purple Power or Super Clean and strip the paint off and start over.
  12. Fit issues aside, you did a great job What kit was used?
  13. I build for "TRUTH,JUSTICE, and THE AMERICAN WAY"!!!
  14. WOW! Those waterline dios are some of my favorites to view at I.P.M.S. shows. Would love to do some involving the Seaview, and others. Yours is just fantastic.
  15. They are not listed in a 2009 catalog,but here's another possible source. http://scaledetails.com/3135_otherscales.asp They list a 1/18th set for maybe Ferrari's.HTH
  16. Well, I did say they were old
  17. I have one from Waldron Model Products, they are big in military/aircraft. There is no part # and they are located in San Jose,CA. This set does look old,and may no longer be available.
  18. Turn it into a Spyder and avoid some of the drama. If you do use liquid cement for the crack,do reinforce the joint from underneath, but I recommend CA glue for that.
  19. Oops,well I won't say I bought all of the primer,but I bought several cans!
  20. Space-Age Paint is having a clearance on all Plasti-Kote sprays. $3.00 any size can. They are on Country Club drive, just south of Southern, east side of street. *and no, I do not work there.*
  21. I typed in "resin casting a model car hood" on google and got this: Hope that helps.
