  1. Check the alumilite web site and you'll get an idea. The biggest cost is 1" thick lexan for the cover. If you keep the diameter small, you can use 3/4",but it's still costly.
  2. Thanks for the replies. I remember (now) that short shot tutorial.
  3. DING,DING,DING!!( this forum needs a "Thumbs Up" widjet)
  4. Topic Title says it all. Interested in applications. I'm aware of all the many fillers, putties etc. interested in this one.
  5. Also soak the paper for about 10 minutes before you begin sanding.
  6. Absolutely awe inspiring work!!! Ya' know there is a quilting group in the community where I live and I may just join that.....
  7. Go here to Star Models http://www.resinrealm.net/Star/STARModels.html They (Steve Koehler) sells R&R and Hendrix resin and both companies make several variations of the 59/60 Chevy
  8. Anyone make thses in resin or are they in another kit.
  9. Harry,I think you do a fine job as far as it can go. I would suggest the 3 Strikes rule.On the first warning, put the offender on moderation.on the second, ban them. There is no 3rd strike!! Many people think that quantity usurps quality.I don't. While it would be great to be a part of a forum with thousands of members,I'd rather be involved with a smaller group that is civil, and knows how to behave and follow the rules.
  10. THATS a shame. One of the features I liked about this forum. Are the inmates running the asylum? If there is no order,is there only disorder?
  11. The thing that bothers me about threads on using an airbrush,as opposed to spraycan, is that most say there will probably be a learning curve.Like the first time you used a spray can you laid down a perfectly smooth, glossy paint job, that it immediately won best paint? Come on everything has a learning curve and some are longer than others. I have no facts about the aerosol vs. airbrush thing, but after the initial cost of the brush and compressor was amortized, I would have to believe that using an AB and bulk paint, it would come out cheaper, and better finish with less polishing/finesseing.
  12. You might try searching the movie on IMD? I was curious about the mansion in the Godfather, and the compound in Godfather II and found leads to links on both.
  13. Thanks for the defining that. It's very creative and I hope it gets displayed often.
  14. How about some kind of magnifier mounted on a swing-arm? That work is certainly top-notch.
  15. Fantastic stuff, and I hope you enter this in IPMS contests, but what is the meaning of "40K"
  16. That DOES look good! I wonder if material for doll clothes would have a finer pattern, and alternatively maybe a fabric store would know of some kind of backing that you apply to the materail that would keep it from shredding & give a cleaner cut?
  17. Very nice conversion and the paint work is superb!!
  18. MAS is still in business.Check with Scale Dreams.
  19. Nicely done Good color and shine
  20. I think the color you're looking for is Tamiya Coral.
  21. Here's more info on the EDJER http://edjer.com/
  22. I too had a good time. I wasn't feeling that great as I was "breaking in" a new lower partial denture, but the show and swap was great. I unloaded a few items,so the "pile" got a little smaller
