Would this work in real life?
cappy625 replied to Bonekrosha's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
it would turn with no problem if it was a quad steer or if you were able to lift one or two of those axles when you turn. the tractor i drive automaticly lifts the axle when you put the turn signal on. just in case i forget to lift it. -

i like the driver of this truck's reading material. very nice kw -
not all macks had maxidynes and camel back suspentions macks that had all mack components where nicknamed pedigres.but mack also sold gliderkits. which were just cab and chassies. the customer could put what ever componets they wanted in it. they where nicknamed mutts. so yes you can have a mack with air ride. and any motor you want. i think the duck had a cummins in it.

i always wondered what motor the real duck actually had in it. in one scene when its comming down the road through the desert. it sounds like it has a detroit. then another scene is at nite. when he's in that park or rest area. he starts the truck and it sounds like a cummins. does anybody know what motor was in it?

Mack Granite?
cappy625 replied to hooknladderno1's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
hessel i put some pictures in the 1;1 section of the ones i pull there under detachable gooseneck. as far as the us detachables there basicly hydralics and pins the hydralics run off a pto on the tractor and some trailers had what you call a pony motor mounted on them to run the hydralics.the pony motor was basicly a small motor like a 3 or 4 HP. mounted right on the goose neck. if you need some specific pictures let me know. i'll take them monday. -

1:4 scale Peterbilt RC
cappy625 replied to Inky's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
thats taking model building to a whole new level. what kind of power did they use in that pete? -
i saw a couple of B model pickups at the macungie truck show last year here in pa. i talked to one of the owners and he said its a kit you can buy. their pretty pricey. 25,000 if i remember correctly. his was on a dodge chassie. they also sell a kw and peterbilt kit. i think thier way cool too. but i'm thinking a lonestar pickup.

1/25 Mack B-73
cappy625 replied to cavejohnson's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
it was commen to see B73s with cummins power. as far as the trans. alot of them had a triplex in them which means you'll have to put two sticks in the interior. the rear suspention would be a camelback. which can be found in any mack kit.theres plenty of aftermarket places that carry that suspention.i'll be visiting afreind of mine this weekend he had a B73 with a 220 cummins in it i'll see if he has any pictures.the interior would have been light green. some mack dealers still carry the color in rattle cans. -
