  1. Here's a 1976 Gremlin X , project of one of the For A Bodies Only forum : http://file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/DON%20HUGHES/My%20Documents/Downloads/100_4984.jpg
  2. Please keep these cleaned-up & restored reissues coming , Round2 (hell , their name says it all , right ?) , and dismiss the grumblings . I bought the Electra 225 ("Retro Reissue") and am very pleased with it . Certainly , it's a promo-type ; however , it's got all the right stuff ! When was the last you saw a RotoMatic (a/k/a "Slim Jim") parked-behind a Buick Nailhead ?? As stated before ; all one has to do is look on the bottom of the box for the kits' contents : No Surprises ! Looks like I may have to grab on of these '62 Fords now ...
  3. Looking forward to watching your W.I.P. ! Is it going to be an "A38" (Police Package) version ?
  4. Neither of the local hobby stores had the Gremlin (nor the Chevy Van for that matter ...) , so I'm going to wait for about a month before I look again (and , no , I won't buy them online and give-in to paying shipping costs ! ) I have two AMT Matador annuals (1975 and 1976) and the 'generic' AMC 304/360 builds up nicely . Those vintage issues have two factory-stock induction setups ( 2Bbl and "Go Pack" 4Bbl) and the Tunnel Ram setup with its two carbs . The accompanying 727 "Torque-Command 8" transmission is a nice touch (and certainly better than the gaffes of the MPC kits wherein the interior bespoke of an automatic , but the drivetrain was a manual ! ) , and the stock , snorkled air cleaners are convincing . I painted the engines in the earlier , close-enough medium metallic blue (similar to Oldsmobile Engine Blue) ; however , my build of this Gremlin will have the engine in the light , turquoise blue of that era (planned Modified Production build's engine will be in blue metallic). I like that this Gremlin issue includes headers (!!) , something which was lacking in the Matador kits (in spite of the Pro Stock building option !!).
  5. I just bought one of these kits today (along with the "Class Action " Monte Carlo) ; and , to say that I'm impressed with its contents , would be a serious understatement ! My plan is to build it as a Kustomised race car (e.g. , the custom grille / headlight assembly , the chromed plain wheels and the custom interior ; but with the M&H Slicks , raised front , etc.) The best part of my purchase of these two kits ? Got 'em both for $17.00 out the door !! "Red Tag" at Hobby "People" .
  6. I have a '77 Volare Annual (ePay "win" from a few years back) in unbuilt condition , so I'm going to watching your build here . That grotesque Landau top was actually used in 1:1 on a "special" model Volare called "California Cruiser" or something as such . It also had 50's chrome-reverse / Baby Moon caps and ---GaSp!--- wide-whitewall tyres (YUCK!). The *only* problems I have with the Volare annuals : - Sub-sized Small Block MoPar (looks more like a 3.9 litre V6 than a 273/318/340/360 !) - Those dumb two-piece plastic tyres !! Judging by the amount of "modifications" done to the back-portion of the roof , I personally would be tempted to make a phantom El Camino / Ranchero / Rampage out of it ... ... it has the -right- body lines for such a conversion
  7. WHEW ! I was concerned that the horrid two-piece AMT tyres were reissued as well (HA!) . Those generic , hollow GoodYear Polyglas tyres (G70-15 , iirc ...) are amongst my favourites , as they can be utilised in multiple applications , albeit incorrect on many as well . Thanks again , Erik !
  8. Thanks much for the pics of the kit's contents , Erik ! It's reassuring to see the stock steel wheels / hubcaps combo ; but I'm wondering about its tyres ... Kudos to Round2 for re-re-re-re-releasing this kit and for restoring the red and ambre lights !
  9. Thanks for your review ! I had the red version (c.early 80's) and had a helluva time building it back then ! It's nice to see the good wheels instead of those grotesque 80's "Champ 500" wheels in the red version . What I liked about this kit was its inclusion of casting dates and part numbers on the block (!!) ; and now it's cool that a clear valve cover was added so that the rocker assembly can be seen (great job , Round2 !) I'd really like to see this backdated to a stock '71-'74 Charger , but I doubt that'll ever happen ... I'm going to buy one of these and just have fun with it . I can see it in pearl light green or pearl white , either colour with those gold stripes !
  10. Does anyone have pics of this kit's contents yet ???
  11. It'd be nice if Round2 could restore the original tooling and toss-in their superb "pie crust" pad print tyres ...
  12. WOW !! What can I say that hasn't already been said ?? Are you a Neurosurgeon or what ! Those details and all of that scratch-building is too much ! At first I thought that the addition of chromed valve covers would detract from that gorgeous induction system ; however , once you added them , I can honestly say that their addition looks better than the stock , painted ones. I absolutely MUST buy (at least) one of these kits ! The idea of a customised "O/SS" (Optional / Super Stock) Catalina is too tempting ! Looking forward to more W.I.P. pics and text ...
  13. I hope you're planning to post a W.I.P. ! The Ramchargers' High & Mighty was so ahead of its time ; first Tunnel Ram induction !
  14. Neat-o torpedo ! Looks like it's got the odd-ball PowerFlite ( Chrysler's 2-speed auto ; short lived) behind that 355 HP 354 Hemi ; looks too thin to be the A-488 (cast iton) TorqueFlite ...
  15. VERY NICE !!! I've been wanting to get a couple-few of these AMT '41 Plymouths for years now , but I keep *forgetting* about them when ever I hit the hobby shoppes ! I'd like to build a High & Mighty type Gasser out of one of these kits ...
  16. Finest 100's ever ! I'd really like to see Round2 issue a modified reissue of the excellent AMT '53 F-100 ...
  17. WOW !!!! That is absolutely Gorgeous !!! Looks like the style I'd see where I grew up ( west Whittier , just 1/2 mile from Pico ).
  18. I can see this as a potential 3-in-1 kit : - Stock - Low Rider - Street Machine I can just see two different engines : - V6 ( Buick or Chevy ?) - "Generic" small block V8 (305 , ad seq.) Induction : - Stock 2Bbl for both engines - Single 4Bbl option for both engines - Tunnel Ram for V8 With both backed by a 200-4R . Engine-side Exhaust : - Stock iron manifolds - Headers with trim-to-desired-length collectors Wheels : - Stock Oldsmobile Rally Wheels - Daytons - Plain Steel Wheels (with wider size for rear for hot rod / bracket racer build) Tyres : - Stock 225 75-14's ( or whatever was stock size ) - Skinny whitewalls for the Daytons - D.O.T. Slicks (small enough to fit the wheelwells) for the Street Machine / Bracket version) Interior : - Stock bench seat / column shift - Bucket seat / rear seat delete panel for speakers (Low Rider) - Bucket seats / console with stock shifter , "Lightening Rod" shifters for race version (similar to the Hurst version ) Optional steering wheels , roll bar , gauges , etc. Hoods : - stock flat hood - "Cowl Induction" style hood - "L88" style hood Exhaust : - Stock single exhaust - True dual exhaust Everything in the engine compartment should be separate in order to facilitate a plain race car version. I firmly believe that if Revell-Monogram were to make it a 3-in-1 kit , that its sales would be quite strong !
  19. Yes , Dodge vans and Econoline vans would be welcome as well ! Of course , all stock parts should be included ( I never realised that the "Matilda" van had factory-stock parts in it ! ). BTW , I never understood how the custom exhaust *worked* on the old AMT Chevy van kits ! I recognise the side pipes ; however , no headers or downpipes = how the heck is the custom exhaust connected ???

    71 Cuda

Super nice 'Cuda ! Kudos for the "real" sized tyres and wheels *NOT* to railroad the topic here ,but I couldn't help but become hyper over seeing what I ~hope~ is a legit 1972 440 Six Barrel Road Runner !! Chrysler's last high-compression and multi-carb'ed engine (10.25:1 compression , 330 net H.P. ) , and only +/- six were built in late 1971 .
  21. WOW !!! I spy headers , 727 Torque-Command , and a beautiful set of tyres !!! VERY good , Round2 !!! I can hardly wait for this to show up on the shelves ; I'm going to buy at *least* two or three of them !!
  22. I hope that this excellent kit includes all of the factory-stock parts (plain steel wheels & hubcaps) as well as the restoration of all of the exterior lighting (ambre for the front and red for the rear) .
  23. Ambre-coloured parking lights = 1976 . Looking great so far ! Is this based-upon the new(er) issue of the "1975 Duster Hardtop" ? .
  24. Where did you get the wheels ???? I LOVE Spyder Wheels , and have been wanting a set or two ...
  25. That's cool that you're friends with George . I've always liked his builds , his subject matter and his style . Does he still have any of those builds from years ago ? The '71 GTX , '70 AAR , '71 440 Six Barrel 'Cuda , etc.
