  1. Super build , Ramfins59 ! '53 is one of my favourite years of the F-100 (1955 is my fave year) ; and , you did this one justice .with your personal touches . * would really like to see Round2 reissue this gem ! *
  2. Super Gremlin ! That colour is spot-on for a Gremlin ; lots of greens around in the 70's . *as a side note --and it's no reflection on your build whatsoever-- I hope that Round2 doesn't become disgruntled over the brow-beating their reissues have received ! At least these reissues are affordable when compared to their ebay compadres !*
  3. Nice build ! Sucks about that 'A' Pillar ;been there before ! I wish that someone would make a Hurst Dual-Gate shifter / console as a separate item ... could sure use 'em in the 1968 Hemi Dart , or any other 60's-70's Muscle Car !
  4. Repstock - That is GREAT !! Your attention to the details is meticulous ! I can hardly wait for this gem to be released !
  5. I recognise that a couple of members here have recently purchased the reissued Phantom Van , the old AMT 1976 E-150 , and I'm looking for pics of the kit's contents . Any-one have a link to photos of the contents ? I'm pining to get one or more of this kit ! I had it when I was a kid (back when it was new !) and have wanted one for years . Thanks !
  6. Quite nice build , Volvoman ! I'm glad to see that you enjoyed your holiday here in the U.S. ( you guys and your absolute months of time off ! ) . Have you considered finding the elusive Tropicana font online via their website ? You could certainly utilise that as a base for a photocopy ; you could then use the "make your own" decal sets (blank waterslide decal paper for use with an InkJet printer) and print off as many as you desire .
  7. That's probably the cleanest EXP I've seen in probably 20 years ! That MPC even kitted this oddity is an interesting ode to the 80's ! Been wanting to build one of these myself ... Here's another EXP ; one which I'm reminded of every time I've seen one of these cars :
  8. That's cool ! Good call on that ; something that's lacking with most --if not all-- resin transkits , etc .I didn't know that translucent-casting was *possible* (not that I'm questioning your skills and abilities) . I'm particularly interested in this , as I've been propositioned by Missing Link to master a rear bumper for a 1972 Road Runner (my suggestion ; Link's "challenge" for me to master my proposal ) based upon the Monogram 24th scale '71 GTX , ostensibly for a conversion to a '72 model . This'll be my first attempt as such an undertaking ! Never-the-less , I want to master the tail lamp lenses as well , as separate parts . My goal is to have them cast in clear resin (or whatever material) , so that they can be painted red , while being able to keep the backup portion in clear (silver or white painted lamps just don't cut it in my opinion ...) . I'm also considering making the "universal" 1972 & later Chrysler side marker lamp lenses ; and knowing that ambre , red , etc. , casting are proven possible , just makes that potential project *that* much more appealing . A stock version would be much welcomed !
  9. I , too , am looking forward to watching this gauntlet-of-a-project come together .! That's one great looking finish cast you've accomplished there ; and , all of those extras are gorgeous ( is that a strip of translucent ambre I see there , for replicating the on-again/off-again ambre turn signals ?!? LOVE IT ! ) . I'd like to see a streetable build of this gem ... vintage Pro Stock scoop with a 351W / C4 / 9" combo , *stock* interior , and other vintage pieces .
  10. Man oh man that's a sweet looking AMC setup !! Just look at its contents ; "generic" AMC V8 ; Borg-Warner 4 speeds ; 727 Torque-Command 8 ; Tunnel Ram intake ; Cross Ram intake ... NICE !!
  11. BigBad - From what I understand , the smaller series (the 53-Series) was available in Chevrolet's HD tractors , whereas the larger (71-Series) was what GMC's HD tractors received . Of course these engines were available in other manufacture's tractors ; I know that Dodge used them along with Cummins . The 4V-71 was the truck's owner's claim . Given the application (light duty pickup) , a V-Four would be about right , as an inline would be too long . Let me see if I can find the video of the pickup in question .
  12. Hardly any-one believes me when I mention that 2-stroke diesel engines were made ! The 53-Series (Chevrolet) , the 71-Series (GMC) , ad seq. , were definitely *unique* . CaveJohnson - I've seen videos of light duty pickups with Detroits in them ; a 3-53 turbo / 8 speed in a '76 GMC ; a 4V-71 in an F-250 ; and a couple of others . Wasn't their lubrication arrangement called Total-Loss Oiling ?

    58 Edsel.

That's exactly why the Edesel was designed as "an Oldsmobile sucking a Lemon" (or so I've heard...).
  14. Through "six-degrees-of-separation" I found the Tower Hobbies site . It was there where I found that the MPC-come-ERTL Oldsmobile 4-4-2 / Hurst is schedulled for re-release. I hope that the Olds is the version with the 4-speed or TH400 option , and the Hurst Dual-Gate shifter (yes , that shifter will find its way into my planned '68 Hurst-Hemi Dart build). Can any-one provide a link or some photos of the contents of these kits?
  15. I absolutely love Peugeot's and Renault's rallye cars (I'll take me an R5 , please !) , and yours is looking great thusfar ! A friend of mine has an '86 205 GTI , one of *maybe* 2 in the U.S. ; it's a "Grey Market" import . It's a sweet little thing . Too bad that Peugeot didn't import the 205 , as I'm certain that it would've sold A LOT of them . Will be following your build
  16. Zenrat - That is a gorgeous Monaco ! Its inclusion of a Crossram Race Hemi was a plesent surprise to me , as I was expecting to find a de rigur Chrysler 'B' or 'RB' in the boiler room ! Your attention to the panel lines in spot-on ; your colour choice is perfect for that era ; and that vinyl top is righteous !
  17. I agree witht his statement as well . Although I've only bought one product from him ( Missing Link Resins' excellent '69-'75 Dodge hubcaps) , I can attest to Kevin's and Missing Link's customer service ; it's bar none ! I got my parts in less than a week after he received my payment .
  18. Good call on colour choices , and on the Buick Nailhead (!) . Great job , mon frier ! I've always truly admired the '39 / '40 Ford ; the flowing lines , the greenhouse , the grille(s) , and just their overall look . I built one of these excellent kits back 2004 . I remember how impressed I was with its parts fitment and general ease of construction. I was originally going to build it with the Buick Nailhead ( one of my top ten favourite engines ! ) and dropped front end , along with custom wheels / tyres . For whatever reason , I could not decide on a colour for my '40 ! I was ready to go with a 2-tone scheme (black fenders / German Silver body) when my mother saw the kit and said , " Your grandfather had one of these ; his first brand new car . It was an Avacado Green [colour] with tan interior . It was his work vehicle and our family car . We'd [the kids] would ride around in the back of it ; didn't have to worry about seat belts back [in the 40's] . " Right then and there , I knew that I had to change my direction , and build it as a stock Sedan Delivery ! I did decide to keep the dropped front axle , as the stock ride height looked too radical to me. I hope that Round2 will do a "Retro" release of this gem ...
  19. gtx6970 - Was it you who also built the " Little Red Deora " ? Excellent work on these two , by the way !
  20. I'd like to see Revell-Monogram produce a stock 1970 Swinger ( with Slant Six , 340 and big block / Hemi options , TorqueFlite or 4 speed options , and 8.75" and Dana 60 diff options , plus Rallye and stock dash / gauges , please ! ) . The L.A. Dart has a non-stock grille ( truly , only missing the parking / turn signal lamps ) and is missing the bumper . Then there's the lack of vent window frames , the modified rear wheel openings , and lack of side marker lamps . If R-M was to make a '70 Dart Swinger , it would be easier to build a Modified Production , Hemi-powered "1970" Dart with their '68 Hemi as its basis ( enough of the 1:1 '68 Hemi Darts were updated cosmetics-wise to look like '69 - '72 models ) .
  21. The thing which worries me a bit is that none of the products' pics on their site can be viewed as a larger image . I'm quite tempted by that 1971 Duster bench seat (master is a modified version of the kit's rear seat , perhaps ?) , but am also apprehensive . Good subject matter ; would like to see some of their other parts applied to their respective kits (the '71 Challenger conversion looks decent , albeit a little "flat" in opposition to the MPC or the 1:1). Does any-one have pics of , say , the '71 340 Duster with the Hart's Parts' bench seat ?
  22. ... and the pushbuttons reflected the pattern of the reverse manual valvebody ( e.g. , "R" , "N" , "1" , "2" , "D" , top-to-bottom ) .
  23. Awesome replica of a '73 "G"-ride ! Say , is that a 402 or 454 under that Cherry Fire red hood ?
  24. This Nova is positively SUPER ! That colour is right-on ; that vinyl top is perfect ; and that 375 hp 396 (L-78 ?) is sweet ! Looks like the kind of Boulevard Bruiser I used to see on Whittier Blvd when I was a wee lad , repleate with 5 gallons of Chevron Custom Supreme (the real stuff ; 105 octane !) . Nice work !
  25. 1972coronet

    62 Impala

This is beyond sweet !! That's some superior craftsmanship ; the colour choices are perfect ; that "W" engine is right-on ; the brightwork is perfect ; and that interior is righteous !
