  1. Finest example I've ever seen of that kit !! I'd built a load of those back in the 80's ; none of 'em looked nearly as nice as yours . I recently saw one of these kits pass-through the Barren-Jackas auction block , where its reserve was met at $15,507 .
  2. I'm going out on a limb here ; I believe that this kit does have the Pony Interior ... Last time I saw the innerds of this kit was its 80's issue (circa 1985 for me) .
  3. Thanks for the video review , Doc ! Revell's really turned-up their think tank and have been producing some top shelf kits ! Kudos ! The most impressive thing I've seen aboutt his kit thusfar is the metal exhaust tips !!!! *That* is a nice touch ! Kudos again !! I'm on board with the guys who'd like to see subsequent years of this gem issued . To me , Ford had the nicest looking cars from '55-'60 ; nicer than the coveted GM offerings , and nicer than Chrysler's offerings (and I'm a life-long MoPar guy ! But , I do like all makes ). '59 Ranchero , anyone ?
  4. Lest we forget MB5 (1976) ...
  5. This may or may not be news , but it's worth at least a bump ... Let me preface my post by stating that I have no unbridge with Alclad . It's a fine product , and many have successfully utilised it on their builds . However , for someone like myself ( lazy , minimalist , "frugal" ) , the cost of and the time-consuming processes necessary for employing Alclad is too much to endure . Now , here's the meat : Dupli-Color p.n. CS 101 !! I've used in on a few builds already ( 1970 Challenger T/A's valve covers and air cleaner lid ; and side pipes and other pieces on the 80's A-TEAM van's 70's parts ) and am duly impressed ! While I've painted it over various base colours , I have found that gloss black works best ( more-reflective ) versus the Testors Flat Steel and Tamiya's Flat Aluminum ; Tamiya's Gloss Black (X-1) works best . Unfortunately , I don't have any way of posting pics ( if I did , I'd have inundated this forum with pics of my builds already !) , so I can't present the concrete evidence of the beauty of this chrome paint ; it's *that* impressive !! And , unlike Alclad , you don't have to handle the part(s) like a Fabreget Egg afterward !! It's durable !! So , next time you head to the local auto parts store , grab a spray can of CS-101 , and never look back !
  6. So many absolutely awesome '57s here !! I'm especially in love with the builds from Steve L , Daddy Fink , Darbo and John Goschke ! A friend of mine gifted me with the Revell Black Widow - 210 Business Coupe kit a few years ago , and I've been thinking of building a 50s / 60s Kustom or Lowrider out of it ...
  7. Okay ... I'm a pretty dense person in general , but am even more-so @ 0440 HRS , so please have some patience with me when I ask , Where is the Dual Gate shifter ????
  8. I can honestly state , without hesitation , that I'm very excited about what Round2 , Revell , and Mobius are releasing for 2013 (and even late 2012 ) !! I haven't a negative thing to say about any of these releases , as there are many that I've been wanting for decades (but am not Swiss Bank Account wealthy enough to buy them from eBay ) .
  9. Thanks , Casey . Not sure how I missed that the first time around .
  10. Don't concern yourself with "highjacking" this thread , as it's truly an all-inclusive thread pertaining to Round2's pending releases ; the topic line even hints at that , even though I qualified it when I mentioned that Rescue Van . So , go ahead and talk about which ever kit(s) you desire .
  11. NICE !!! No more $10,000 eBay auctions !!! It certainly looks like Round2 has pulled out all the stops for '13 ! Just look at those beauties ; I'm really digging the Tri-Five Fords !
  12. I received an E-newsletter from Round2 today , and when I perused its contents , I saw the (attached) image . And in that image , I noticed a "new" ( reissue ) Chevy van that's *not* the Daffy Duck (or whatever it's called) issue of recent ; it's the Emergency Van !! Anyone know whether or not it's atually slated for release ??? EDIT : It's actually called "Rescue Van" , and is on the left side , 3rd row from the top .
  13. Amen , brother !! This society keeps rewarding stupidity and accepting criminal behaviour ; and , no , I'm *not* talking about petty ###### like smoking a "left-handed cigarette" or whatever . A wise man with $100 will be more successful than an idiot with $10,000 (i.e. , the Duck Call programme you're referring to ; the former applies to them ).
  14. NICE !!! That Hugger Orange really pops ! Those Redline tyres are righteous ; and those Pontiac Ralley II wheels are perfectly painted !!
  15. Yuppie Thugs got cancelled ??? Too bad ... I was trying to find the Family Guy clip wherein they goof on Orange County Cob-Jobbers : "And now back to 'Middle Aged Guys Yelling For No Apparent Reason' ..." , or something like that. I almost urinated my Levi's when I saw that clip !
  16. I've seen that wild looking '100 around the area at a few shows for the last ~6 years ; its owner / builder lives around here somewhere . If not for the "951" area code , it'd look like it's straight out of the early 60's ! Wish that I could convince him to change it to "714" and add a *ficticious* number (e.g. , OLeander-23593 [Hemet-area prefix] , or something similar ) , simply to complete the period-correct look , then put the *real* contact info on a business card . Looking forward to watching your progress !
  17. Either number 5 ( Cragar S/S ) -or- Number 11 ( Ansen Sprint )
  18. Gorgeous Gremlin , Erik ! I've wanted to try Tamiya TS-60 Pearl Green , but I didn't have any idea how it'd look . Now that I know , I'll have to go grab a can of it ! ( I have used the Green Metallic . Matter of fact , that was the very first Tamiya spray I'd ever tried ! Which kit supplied its tyres for this ?
  19. My grandfather (1897-1989 ) built his own motorcycle in the late 'teens (e.g. , 1916 or so) out of parts from various crashed Harley Davidsons . I've seen photos of it ; it was belt-driven (early H.D.'s were belt-driven and had pedals ; truly a Motorised-Bicycle !). In addition , he had one of the very first H.D.'s (1906 ?) wheich he bought upon his return from his service during WW1 . His mother "made" him dump all of his "dangerous toys" ! Ha ha ha ! Imagine him being a veteran , and being told by his mother that his motorcycles were dangerous ! Subsequently , he owned an EMF (Everet-Moure-Flanders , if I remember correctly) which he called an Every-Morning-Fix-it , as its tyres would constantly roll-off their rims . I can't remember what he'd owned from the late 20's until ... ... circa 1934 , he bought a then-new Ford . The V8 was new in Fords that year . In 1948 , he had a Buick Roadmaster . My dad said that it had the "hang-on (to the door frame around the rear door's window)" air conditioning . He and my grandmother took a trip around the world in the late 50's / early 60's . In Germany he bought a Mercedes to drive around Europe in . When they returned to the states , he had the Mercedes shipped over to San Pedro (Los Angeles' "South Bay" shipping port). I still have its German license plates in storage ! His 1964 Cadillac Fleetwood was getting too big , so it was traded for a '67 Buick Skylark . In late '68 , he bought a new '69 Dart Custom (the trim level between the 270 model and the GT) two door . It was for my grandmother to drive around town in . It had a 273 , auto ; a/c , AM radio and power steering (and junk manual drums brakes) . White with green interior . When my grandmother got pulled over for driving the wrong way on a one way street (she was in her early 70's at the time) in 1971 , she gave up driving ("If I can't remember which direction the streets run in the city I've lived in since the late 20's , then I shouln't be driving any more. "). They gave the Dart to my parents in '71 or '72 . That's the car that I grew up around ! After my grandmother passed away , my grandfather remarried . My step granny brought a '68 Mustang coupe to the party . She bought it new at ___________ Ford in Pasadena . It had the 289 / C4 . It was painted a special order colour , a pastel green . She sold that car in '78 and bought a '79 Honda Civic . Aside from the various trucks and tractors and various construction equipment (he and his brother owned and operated a construction business) , he'd owned a variety of other cars which I cannot recall right now.
  20. Nice work , Jacen ! These wheels , in their original-to-the-kit version , remind me of the 1978 Super Coupe wheels .
  21. Thanks . I couldn't remember whose kit this was ~
  22. NICE !!!! That is some beautiful work !!! I just recognised the separate windshield wipers ; are they photoetch parts ? I actually have this kit , but am too lazy to check ! .
  23. Missing Link kit or ????
  24. I agree with you 100% , HIPPIE DUDE !! I have always been nothing less than thankful for Round2's existance . If not for them , what would've happened to all of those new(er) RC2/ AMT toolings and old MPC & AMT toolings ??? It pains me to pay $40+ for old MPC , AMT , et al. , kits from eBay , especially since I'm not a "collector" ; I like to build them !! I , too , hope for the continued success of Round2 ! I don't mind at all having to massage these restored-mould classic kits ! I I've been playing with the Phantom Van for a bit here , and am loving all of the massaging ( dressing-down ejection pin marks is about the only pain in the a55 thing ) that's needed in order to build it to my satisfaction . Perhaps if we continue to support them , they'll have enough capital to invest in brand new kits ( e.g. , 1968 Coronet R/T that was cancelled by RC2 ... ) ! Keep those restored reissues coming , Round2 , and I'll continue buying them !
