  1. I like the long flowing lines and the color choice to complement them. Excellent work.
  2. This is absolutely incredible!
  3. You can make cracked windshields by carefully cutting a crack pattern with an exacto knife. To make flat tires. Heat a piece of metal and then press one side of the tire down on it and rub back and forth a little. You might wanna check under tips because I think there is some more info there with pics.
  4. With the work that's in the making, and the tentative stance, that thing is going to look evil flamed.
  5. I think it would look good if you two toned and pinstriped the indented part of the firewall and left the outermost surround the way it is. I think it would give it more depth and detail. Beautiful build.
  6. I've seen seals used for airbags but, those look real! What did you use to make them?
  7. ...OR it could be part of the car's hostory. In the last race, his lines got severed by a piece of flying debris and he had to run new ones...luckily it was after he used all of it.
  8. Haha...So, I did...guess I've been trapped in here with drying paint too long...edited.
  9. I work at home and I was bored on a call...so I grabbed the closest thing I could read. It turned out to be a Testors Lacquer can. I noticed a mispelling in the warning. It said "May EFFECT brain or nervous system". Nothing major aside from effect instead of affect...just wandered if anyone else had noticed it.
  10. I have tried it with Walmart paint and primer and other brands. This is the only color in the Color Place color that gives me issues...nevertheless...the car looks good.
  11. I'll give ya two thumbs up for even getting Colorplace red to lay on the car. I hate the way it sprays on anything. It leaves blotchy places and everything else for me. But IMHO, you really cannot tell you used this shoddy paint at all. I think the red looks great on it.
  12. Can you blow that up to 1:1 size and use that as a tow pig for another show truck? That looks great! I don't think I have ever scene those slotted light covers used on one of these before.
  13. I actually saw a segment on that as well. They said that it was much quicker and easier to just put a full vinyl wrap on the car nowadays. One of the things that inspired this is that they have so many cars per team and they do special graphics for specific races. It is aparently easier for them to remove the wrap and rewrap after races than fully prep, paint, and sticker them...unless, of coarse, they wreck.
  14. Yeah, I think there are a couple differences. That's gonna be quite a transformation from an old four door wagon to The Car. Can't wait to see it.
  15. Hmm, maybe you could incorporate the ram the rolls the car into it.
  16. Man, I hope you finish Pachenko's car soon. I've been waiting to see one of these as a WIP since I've been on MCM. BTW, I just found this as well...figured it may be a good reference in smaller scale. I think it might be a little cooler with some dust and weathering...and perhaps some red lights behind slammer windows sprayed with VHT Nightshades or black Metalcast from the inside. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=peGdgSF5YDg&NR=1
  17. I'm pretty sure the 1:1 wheels like the ones on that Ram were made by Concept Neeper or Niche in the 90's or early 2Ks.
  18. Here's my 1:1 off my Mini Truckin' "Reader's Rides" page. 1998 S10 Airbags with cantilever rear and 18x8.5 inch Panther Defiance rims. For the record, the wheels have a 4.75" backspace. I can still stick my finger between the wheel and the fender lip at all four corners and the lips are not rolled.
  19. What I'm going for and the camber issue. What camber issue? A lot of bagged trucks have major negative camber in the front.
  20. I have never tried Fusion other than 1:1 interior. But based upon the way it is promoted, I can see this happening. This paint is for thicker plastics like the ones used for lawn furniture. Making it difficult to remove is part of its design for outdoor use. I have never used VHT aside from putting it on lenses on 1:1 cars...thought about trying to tint the windows lightly on a 1:25 with Nightshades just to try it when I saw the tinting glass thread. I like the look of Krylon satin black. But even with primer, it does seem to melt the plastic for me. It just seems to make the plastic rubbery. I have slightly better results when I apply it in EXTREMELY thin mist coats.
  21. I use dish washing liquid. It the parts fit, I put them in a 24 oz soda bottle with the lid to contain the dish washing liquid smell...24 because I've been using it to strip sprue tree lengths as well.
  22. That's actually not a bad idea. I like it!
  23. http://lh6.ggpht.com/_ccyisZUJHGk/TR0hHv6-CeI/AAAAAAAAAQo/xnYjGB-2mZM/s640/IMGP0169.JPG I've just gotta know, is that a diode I see by the passenger valve cover?
  24. If this turns out anything like your Acura, it will be very nice and clean.
  25. It would be really great to see some of the GTA cars built on here. Keep us posted
