What's it worth ?
Skydime replied to scubadiver411's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I didn't even know they made either of those Beetle kits. I must be living under a rock. -
Clean simple and smokin'! Looks good from here. Worse come to worse, you can always tear down the suspension to redo that ride height the way you want at a later date.

I was at a local hospital frequenting the forum on my iphone's wi-fi the other day and noticed that there was a link to an iphone app at the bottom of the page. Unfortunately, their guest internet was horrible, I lost connection, and could not find it again...and still cannot Is there an iphone app for the forum of some sort? Or maybe just for the system on which the forum runs?

Briggs & Stratton I agree. This looks to be a very interesting project. People have blurred the lines for years. Look how standard a Chevy small block is in a 32 Ford. Let's see where this goes. I'm sure it will be great.

If you just want to overlay and crop photos, I used to use a program called Merge. It would let you lay one image over another, crop the images, and set their transparancy. It worked pretty good for making forum sigs where the large ones are allowed. Here's an example of what it does. Please excuse the crude camera phone pictures I used as it was just one of my quick early trials. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h283/elitelowsjack/Skydime%20construction/ForumSig.jpg

I say model.

Do I spy a hotwheels car? That's a lotta detail for that little thing. Great job!

Yeah, I think you're right. Looks more like a 63. Definitely following this one.

I didn't think 66 had rounded sides on the back glass?

Who makes the finest flocking?

Baking soda? I've never heard that one until now. Very resourceful! -
Who makes the finest flocking?
Skydime replied to brodie_83's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Dave can feel free to correct me if I am wrong but, the product he is talking about is billed as flocking powder instead of just flocking. I think it is billed that way because it is finer as Brodie requested. I use embossing powder as well for a lot of applications where flocking isn't appropriate.. -
The paint is beautiful on this car. It screams rock and roll!

I was just wandering, did you cut off the back doors and glue them in place? The truck looks great.

New twist on "On The Workbench" (Update 8/25)
Skydime replied to Stickit2gether's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Looks like you've even done a nice job of incorportating the golden eagle color from a flag pole top. Nice work. -
This thing is very cool. In addition to the pirate detail, I love the sliding ragtop look.

Where the heck did you find a place to layaway kits? Talk about convenience at the holidays!

With that shotgun, change the plates, and you would have Dom's from Fast and Furious. But I like the original bounty hunter idea better. Great job!

I think that I now understand why Mopar guys say "Mopar or no car." Very nice.
-
Yeah, I'd drive it if it was a 1:1. Looks fantastic!

Rob: Yeah that frog tape is expensive. Ive got some left over from a bathroom painting project. I haven't done any two tones lately but, maybe trying the left over frog tape would be a good excuse. If I do, I'll try to post results...better than throwing it out. lol

Anyone tried that Frog Tape for masking?

By the title, I thought it was going to have some solar panel or electric motor or something. Nice Job!

I really liked this kit when I put it together. The worst problem I have seen with it is the alignment of the front bumper. If you look at a lot of the builds of this car, even on this site, the ends of the front bumper are angled up.
