  9. Hi all, I've been working on this project.tractor isn't done yet..but the rear scraper blade is.other then weathering.I scratch build all of it except the K&S aluminum tubing and wire and black tubing..oh so brass wire...its all plastic.it is very much like what was on the farm as a kid.I don't were this goes.the big truck is truck.heavy commercial I believe is were it goes..but I don't see one.thanks for looking...Chris
  10. Dude..smokin work.I enjoyed seeing all the work, details and changes made.the sub frame extender you made was a surprise to see.really nice work all the way around....Chris
  11. ok more progress.first I'm building two of these.pickup one is the white plastic truck and its going to be a farm truck in the orchard. truck two is going to be a different one,its the red colored pladtic..it stated as a glue bomb.same mods for both.that being said.I'm showing fuel tank on truck one.there is before pictures early posts.tank has been lengthen and a top put on the tank..more to come it.and frame has more work on it.tank setting in frame..no glued yet
  12. I to would love to watch the build....Chris

  17. I guess its some creative part that chooses which one is next....Chris
  18. Great looking restorations Steve and Dan and all others..some great work going on.....Chris
  19. i'm with ya.it would great to have a rebuilders section.for builds in progress and the under glass section and a parts section and a in general section..I think I would be there more then any other section.I suspect Gregg would have to do it..all he needs is more work to do..it would be great..and maybe a section were info on how to do's could be placed..like getting models apart different techniques on that.how to make parts, how to polish out clear plastic..stuff like that...I'm a nut about this part of scale modeling....Chris
  20. I should but don't.I wanted a app or software application to do as you all are talking about..good idea..Chris
  21. Well..I guess for me I'm going to see what happens out of this.Iem not a big rims dude.and stereos are hard to see in 24th and 25th scales.but maybe back when Barris,Starbird,Watson and Roth and many others back in the time..builders may have thought what we are now.I was never a big fan of all the custom parts that AMT put in the kits back then...but AMT aloud us to build stock as well.so I'm going to see what comes of this..Chris
  22. WOW..stupid me thought I was the only one with Mark be the exception. I just love it restoring them.I have most buildups in little white boxes to keep them safe.I'm working on a few as well.I used to think it was nuts to rebuild any model!!..but I took a Cummins diesel engine apart cause I needed it..and fell in love with rebuilding them.found ways of getting them apart with care using razor saw, knife, the freezer and Tamya liquid glue..the green lid bottle..works good with a little pressure.I sure wished someone woukd start a website or a section here fir us who do love it.I do safe plastic parts.and yes rebuild annuals and making mods like no metal front axle..getting rid of the hole in the engine block and saving the block is fun.removing exhaust pipes and muffs is a few of mods I personally make.putting tops on rearends and transmissions and many other component's I do.cut the rear axles and springs from the chassis plates I just enjoy.it would be great to hear how you all solved problems you all run into in rebuilding gluebombs.we all have our little secerts in get it done.there is some amazing rebuilds you have showed.love seeing your builds.yes Gerry you should get a few out.I have saved cars that normally I wouldn't have even touch a few years ago.one of my problems is to remember to take pictures before..gluebombs look bad and I'm old and don't remember. .but getting better at remembering. ..thank you all for looking and comments. ..Chris
  23. Question..is there a site dedicated to rebuilding models that need being rebuilt.I personally love building them..its so fun to me.there is a different skill set in getting them apart, saving as much as you can.fixing all the trouble areas. getting them apart is a struggle..but still fun..finding the parts needed to complete it.desiding what to do with it...like make factory build..meaning no upgrades to the kit.or upgrade with better parts from other..newet kits.how many builders out there participate in this craziness. .I call fun.I still love building a virgin kit.but there is so much fun in rebuilding kits whether there old or newer kits just needing a fresh look.how many of you out there enjoy this kind of building? and is there sites dedicated to this kind of building?...thank you all for commenting and looking....Chris
  24. Ok,so here is the interior door panels.I ground off the detail on the panels and filed, sanded till it was gone.I made new panels more like the real ones.I still have work to do on the panels and the access panel has to be scribed in and either find or make new ones door handles.I'm trying to make this as stock as I can.here is the before and after pictures of the door panels.I sure hope to find a detail set that may have inter handles for the door panels.thank you..Chris
  25. so true..that ELO stripping product..to me and my experience makes plastic brittle and easily broken.I love building old plastic. .its a blast..but what makes old plastic be worth gold..is its old plastic.I to would rather use plastic as well.but its people wanting as much money as they can get for what they have..its money.money..money.and people willing willing to pay it.we want old plastic. .sellers know it.I wished that model company's would sell any tree's you wanted from any kit with tooling that is still use able. ..there missing money they could be getting..oh well...Chris
