  1. That has to be my favorite of your Terry cars! Nice job (as usual) John!
  2. Another beautiful, seldom seen build. Man, I love your Nascar collection!
  3. Oh yea!! That is one on my to do list someday here... Sharp build, John!
  4. That is really sharp! Are those Powerslides? Nice job!
  5. Thank you for the information, Josh. That was a great show last year, I was wondering if you guys were up for a three-peat! If anybody is interested in seeing the car classes from last year, you can check them out in my Fotki album at the following: http://public.fotki....-midlands-show/ I definitely recommend this show to anybody who is able to make it. The AMPs show, held in conjunction with this one is mind-blowing!!
  6. I really like those old Lumina kits. Nice job on a unique, seldom seen ride!
  7. That one is near and dear to my heart!! That was the first Nascar kit I ever built. My hats off to you getting those kit decals to lay on those front fenders. I chickened out and used Testors #99 paint and Slixx decals. That was always a good looking car IMHO. Great job on this one John!
  8. Man, John! Just incredible. Thanks for sharing with us.
  9. Nice job, Mark. I am glad to see somebody building up the old AMT versions of these Nascars. You make them look great!
  10. I have passed by those decals at several shows. I don't remember that car but man, I will now! LOL Nice job, John. I always enjoy the old, obscure subject matter.
  11. John, your builds are always killer. Nice job on this one! I especially like the old style rims on it. Nice touch!
  12. Oooh I like that Red! Another nice one, Mark!
  13. Another nice job with one of those old AMT kits, Mark. I really like this one. You did a great job. Those Grand Prix's are near to my heart as I owned a '91 B4U model back in the day!
  14. Saw your post over at Randy's. Thought I would echo the comments over here. Nice Job, Scott! You have a real knack for those Petty cars! Thanks for sharing with us.
  15. Another beautiful build, John. You gotta love those Powerslides! Some of the best decals IMHO. Thanks for sharing with us.
  16. Wayne, that was a great show! Thanks for posting the pictures.
  17. Man, David! That is some superior craftsmanship so far! I always enjoy seeing your builds. I may need to slate the ACME NNL in the schedule again this year so I can get down there and see this one in person. I really appreciate you sharing with us!
  18. Cranky, thanks for the tip on the hairdryer, I tried that on a spoon test and it really helps speed up the process! The cheap acrylic paints lay on in thin translucent coats so this definitely helps the process! I love the stuff I learn on this board!
  19. I have had mixed results with rubbing alcohol. The metallic colors seem to clot up when mixed with 91%. I have used plain old "Blue" automotive windshield washer fluid with great success. To add a little more grip and durability, you could also mix in some Future Floor polish. Unfortunately, this is all trial and error with these paints. Most times, I end up using mine for detail painting, color washing parts, etc. HTH
  20. Nice "Model Car" build ! You did a great job on this kit and I am glad you posted up the additional pics to resolve the situation. Black paint is tough to pull off, you did a great job!
  21. Excellent job on this one, Bruce! I am glad that you queue'd it back up and finished it. Keep em' coming, we always enjoy!!
  22. Looking very nice, Bruce. Glad to see it is back in progress! BTW, nice paint detailing on those AMT wrapped headers. I have pondered what to do with those, sand them smooth or try to highlight them in some manner. Yours look great!
  23. This has always been a gray area for my Nascar builds. Most times, I do not clear over my decals. On two of my recent builds, I had to seal splintering decals with clear coat to give them some protection. You know the two cars that I get the most compliments about finish at shows??? Yep, the clear coated decal cars!
  24. I attended the IPMS Regional Convention in Columbia, SC yesterday. This was a great show with a large number of car modelers turning out. I know alot of car modelers are turned off by the IPMS judging criteria but I really learned alot working with these guys yesterday. To me, it seems to be a very fair system once you understand that model building fundamentals are the focus. I have attached a few pics, more in my album at the link: http://public.fotki....arolina-ipms-r/
  25. Very Nice!!
