Very nice job on this one, Mark! I agree, it is good to see some of the older Nascars on here. Keep up the great work. This one is a Beaut!

Another year, another great show! Check out more pics in my Fotki album at the link. http://public.fotki....ummer-classic-/

I may try to get up there to snap some pics for my Fotki album and see what they have over in the vendor section. This is always a good show! http://public.fotki.com/KMidd65/

Nice touch with the fingernail polish. I have been very intrigued with this build. Thanks for sharing it with all of us!

Another nice project John! I am always inspired by your builds. That pizza car is extra nice. Thanks for sharing!

Just got back from a week in KY. During my stay, I was able to attend this show over in Louisville. The build quality was outstanding! More pics at the link to my Fotki album. http://public.fotki....-shootout-2011/

Really nice show there today Tom. Also, congrats, I really like that pickup of yours. I have attached a link to my Fotki album. The lighting was playing tricks with my camera today...Just got tired of fooling with it. SCMA Midland Pics

Thanks Jay, I really appreciate it. Actually, I have been following your restore over at Randy's. Just take your time and it will look great. I have a Heilig-Myers version of that Revell die-cast I have often thought about updating. I am anxious to see your end result. My Fotki Page

You just have to love all those ejector marks on the Revellogram Nascar kits. I absolutely like building these kits but cleaning up those things can be a real chore. You are doing a great job on this one! Kmidd65 Fotki Albums

Thanks for the clarification and follow-up Josh. I will pass the word to some NC modelers as they had the same question. I definitely plan on attending this show. We really appreciate it!

Very nice, clean build there Bruce! Do you remember what paint you used for the red? I have struggled with the color for that model. Yours looks very good!

I saw the show flyer on this and am a little confused... Is this show only open to members of the SCMA? The flyer states SCMA Only??? I would like to attend but do not want to drive an hour to find that this is an "inter-club" only show. Thanks to anybody that can clarify this for me!

John, very impressive, clean build there fella! I absolutely love this model/concept. It looks like a car that would be run in a modern day "Nostalgia Club Circuit" or something. I could see somebody locating an old, partial Matador from back in the day and building it out with parts found here or there and some modern stuff thrown in for easy maintenance. On the track, it would look like the cars from back in the day, up close, there would be some differences. I know that they do this with old Dirt Trackers here in my part of the country.... I love watching the guys race those old machines. Hats off, that is an awesome build! I build mostly Nascar and love this one.

Yes, I had an old polishing kit (over 10 years old!) up in the closet. The liquid polish had dried so I used some Meguiars #7 and then NuFinish Scratch Doctor to finish up. I actually laid down some Krylon Crystal Clear, before this, let it dry a week or so and then polished it out with the progressive sand paper grades. I then shot some more Crystal Clear, let that sit another week or so before final polishing and decaling. I agree, Davey was a real talent. It just seems like yesterday when I watched him coming off Turn #2 at Charlotte during a practice session. That #28 was always a favorite of mine with either Davey or Ernie behind the wheel. I have decals to do almost the entire #28 collection up through Rudd. Thanks for all the comments!

Those colors really pop, John! This is really going to be sharp when you get it all button up!

This was my second completion upon my return to the hobby. Again, this was built out of the box using Slixx decals. I used the old cheapo WalMart "ColorPlace" Gloss black and clear straight from the can. The interior was sprayed with Krylon Pewter Gray. This was a fun build but that particular kit has a real stance problem...

This was my first build when I returned to the hobby about two years ago. I really enjoy building these old Nascar kits straight out of the box with Slixx decals. I used to superdetail my builds like crazy. Decided to keep it simple and FUN when I returned to the bench. This one was sprayed out of the rattle cans using Krylon Lemon Glowing Yellow and Black. The interior was sprayed with a Duplicolor Red-Orange Truck color. I really liked the way this one turned out.

Very close to my Heart!! Nice Job, sweet build. I need to try your tire trick on my upcoming Superman build!

I agree, Tom, that Pontiac is awesome! Congrats on the awards! I was very impressed with the quality and number of builds on display yesterday. Was able to check off needed items at the swap meet too. If you can make this show next year (same weekend / location) I definitely recommend it. I have been the last two years and have been very pleased. I posted the link to my pics, below: 2011 SCMA Upstate Show Pics

Hi John, you know I am a big fan of your builds. This one is looking top notch as usual! Question? On your chassis, do you use Krylon Pewter gray or something different? Just wondering as the Krylon is getting difficult to find. Thanks

That has always been one of my favorite T-Birds. Your build is very nice. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the comments everybody. I have been slowly getting back into the hobby. You just don't know what it means to me! A lot of great work displayed throughout the pages in this forum. I have learned so much on line the last year. I will post up my current build when I wrap it up in another few weeks.

Someday I am going to get around to building that kit. Very nice, I agree, the Olds were nice!

Awesome job, as usual, Coyote! It is refreshing to see an old notch back Monte Carlo buildup
