  1. One thing not mentioned in the TamiyaUSA information is the release date, which according to the Tamiya Japan version of this is going to be August. That's a bit later than I would have expected, but I guess with the new "gimmicks" of rotors & calipers being separated and the multi-slide molded "hollow" coil-over springs tooling production has run a little longer.
  2. The 2018 Season for the Factory Teams that ran the GTE cars in FIA/WEC and IMSA were all throwbacks to earlier paint schemes. The team car to this was a de-tobacco'd Rothman's livery, the IMSA team ran the 1998 911 GT1 scheme at Petit Lemans (Road Atlanta).
  3. Now would be the time to criticize it and get it corrected before it gets committed in tooling steel for all of eternity.
  4. I know this isn't a BMW...but they just dropped this little nugget. Final test shots and approved box art for the long overdue 2018 911 RSR.
  5. I'm well old enough to know that. Sure they were decent model kits...for the time. But I'm going to say that there's not a soul alive today who's going to run out and buy one of the Lindberg repops of any kit they did in their military lines over any sort of modern alternative unless they were *specifically* going for a nostalgia build.
  6. HobbyEasy in Hong Kong is going to be the best price and earliest source as HK/Macau gets the kits a good 2-3 weeks before Platz does in Japan. After H.E. any of the usual suspects in Japan (HobbyLink Japan, Hobby Search, Tokyo Hobby, et al) will have the 2nd best price (usually only a few bucks more) and 2nd quickest stock-in time. As others have mentioned SpotModel also carries their line. But the Euro/Dollar conversion and import fees pass-along can add up to $15 to the price and they tend to be 90 days or more behind the actual release times.
  7. Well if Lindberg had actually ever made anything decent of their own and didn't rebrand a bunch of dreck from IMC, Ideal Toy, Palmer & Pyro as "Lindberg" they wouldn't need a dozen kits tooled up the 90s wouldn't make or break the brand. Relabeling those Craft House era kits as AMT was the best thing to do with them to separate them from the reputation that Lindberg justifiably earned over the years they were basicly inactive and just shoveled out that ancient tooling catalog over and over.
  8. Dave Burkett (Model King) will be there, but traditionally Dave has a dozen tables and is selling kits (well beyond just Moebius items), but I suppose he might be able to display their stuff if they wanted. Usually Moebius goes to the Indy IPMS show that was held last weekend because of it's proximity to Dave Metzner's location, but apparently they weren't there either.
  9. Unless their listing is missing from the Vendor Area, Moebius/Pegasus doesn't have a display this year. Round2, Revell & Atlantis will all be there.
  10. The Volvo was released in Hong Kong shops on Thursday, so it's out there and available for anyone needs to be "first". It'll show up sometime in early May in Japan.
  11. Well it's fairly rare kit in that it hasnt ever been reissued, and the vast majority of those kits are actually HERE in the U.S. floating around. When the LS400 was introduced it was just a badge engineered Toyota Celsior and wasn't sold as a Lexus in Japan, so there wasn't much of a market for that kit inside Japan. Instead Tamiya released a nearly identical full detail kit of the Celsior - which aside from the RHD and Toyota grille/badges is the same exact kit.
  12. It's supposed to be out in the 4Q of this year. It's just a couple of runners of parts that were already tooled up at the beginning. All this kit will be is swapping some inserts out with the Boss specific parts.
  13. Gotta say I believe that when I see it. The kit has been delayed almost a dozen times this year alone already. Ironically Platz in their most recent blog post touted the Volvo BTCC kit as being the item to be shipped in the coming weeks. Frankly I'm fine with getting both within the month, but unless one orders them locally in-country (aka Hong Kong or Macau) it'll still be a month or more before they're available beyond that...or whenever they see fit to actually distribute them.
