  1. Looks like the i8 is being released with the optional "Turbine" wheels as the "variant". I'll pass as I (and I suspect anyone who really cared) got a set of those from Plamoz back when the kit was new. The Camper T1 does indeed look to be the one that Ebbro was working with Revell to produce. There are two actually, one is a Kombi, the other a Westfalia.
  2. Ahh I missed the generation designation, since all vans are colloquially "Type 2"s. In that case that is a whole new tooling. That also makes me wonder if that T1 "Camper" isn't one of the kits that Ebbro was involved with...
  3. Local Hobby Shop has both kits in...
  4. They have several releases of Type 2 VWs in panel van and Sambas, but none of those are SnapTite (aka Easy Click).
  5. Wonder what the "variant" of the i8 is going to be. That car hasn't had a redesign, and Revell only has one version of it. BMW did add a Roadster (as they call it) soft top version in 2018. I might be in for a kit of that.
  6. Last HLJ box of 2019. Merry Christmas to me.
  7. Pretty sure it's got the Lexus V-8 that powers the Prius that apr fields. They didn't build it using the Mother Chassis, so it doesn't have the Super GT Branded Nissan V-8 that all of those cars are required to use.
  8. There are two vending machines, one is a 50s era one that comes with the '53 Ford and others of that ilk, the other is a 1970s style job that comes with this kit, the C600 Stake Bed, the upcoming Pinto, etc.
  9. Until you realize you have to paint the entire inside of the chromed wheel barrel black and you wonder why they didn't tool it into 3 pieces.
  10. Wheels I'll consider as being something "separate", but hood, windows, and other correct trim pieces fall under auspices of "new body" because not doing them would make the new body moot, they could have just released a 2dr and went VIOLA! The Supernatural Impala folks!
  11. Except that Light Commerical builders are like race car guys, you shovel them the wrong stuff and they're not going to buy it and will scream from high heaven about it. Round2 gets credit for actually listening and tooling up some period correct and accurate parts for the CHP Monaco reissue. To try to pass off an Impala as a Biscayne would be a flop.
  12. But it's not really a new tool, it's a new body, and a half dozen or so interior pieces with rest being from the '67 Impala SS kit from the 90s.
  13. FCA also holds the license to Hudson, as well as all the Mopars Moebius made/is making. Plus Salvinos JR will be introducing a line of Mopar NASCAR kits in 2020. In actuality they're no more expensive than any of the other Big 3. The reason is the '09 Challenger (and '10 Camaro) sold like the proverbial gastric issue in church, to the point those were solo tooling uses which is a financial disaster, and once you sales flop American manufacturers never forget. They're still blaming the trifecta of oversaturation of 1997 F-150s as the reason modern trucks won't sell. Tuner kits are flops - but not because they're the wrong scale, were late to the party, and some were shared diecast tooling. Exotics won't sell because Monogram lost that heap of money with those kits that came with a computer driving video game and cost 10x the cost of a normal kit. Just think how long AMT & Revell kept reissuing their '57 Chevys before they both eventually broke down and made new ones. Same thing with '32 Fords, and Model A Hot Rods.
  14. Well so far the January kit list is the '70 Impala Fire Chief, Ed Roth Mailbox Trike, '77 Pinto Popper Coca-Cola, and Tyrone Malone Hideout KW Hauler Truck.
  15. Also Platz tweeted around 6pm EST tonight this (pardon the machine translation), so hopefully Japanese vendors will have it by the beginning of next week. That'd be a 3-5 day gap between Hong Kong release and Japanese distribution. Which makes a pretty clear case why Beemax couldn't drop their deal with Aoshima fast enough.
  16. Renaissance out of France said they were doing that one, plus two others I can't recall off the top of my head.
  17. Nope it's a curbside. It'll be just a mild-retool - just a top body mold insert - of their existing MX-5 Roadster from 2015. I'll have to either sell my Plamoz RF conversion piece, or pass on this one.
  18. This has officially been added to the Round2 January releases.
  19. Well it's free money to some extent. I know, I know Round2 had to buy the tooling blah_blah_blah, but if they haven't recouped that investment in a dozen years, it's very likely they never will. Also maybe they got strong pre-orders on that MPC Ed Roth Mailbox Trike, which opens the possibility to any "Show Rod" style cycle. One things for certain, I'm not sure how any of you older folks are still here because that was some OUTSTANDING drugs these guys were on back then. ?
  20. It wouldn't be an efficient use of resources, at all. Aside from modifying the promo tool, you're also talking about running 3 tools worth of kits to get one kit at the end. You'd then have 3k sets of all of the other kit's parts as tooling is not set up (especially the older stuff) in a way that only allows bits and pieces to be produced, you run the whole shebang.
  21. This kit has been reissued as of this morning. Considering the RevellAG Land Rover Series III is freshly minted, along with the 70/80s Land Rover 2 Dr & 60/70s Land Rover 2 Dr ESCI/Italeri reissues being out there - now is the time to bask in English off-roading. The Italeri reissue of the ESCI MB G320 is also pending any week now.

  23. Ahhh well I knew it was an NNL held in the past month or so. I defend my mistake on the basis that Toledo and Detroit are "close enough" ??
