No love it's a straight reissue. The 64 could get tweaks as it was a new tool.

Oh I wholeheartedly agree Chris' channel is a fantastic one stop "shopping" site for seeing kit contents/minute changes, especially on all of the eleventyhundreth reissue of the same AMT kit with new decals.

Well I mean this thread was drug out of the depth of the dungeons. He suddenly replied to a comment I made over TWO YEARS ago. At any rate my comment still stands. His quick and dirty builds show all the warts a kit posseses (whether that's intentional, or just a by-product of 48 hr rush jobs) and I don't understand why anyone would want their product featured in such a way as to imply a new/returning modeler can't build a decent looking model out of the box with a bare bones set of skills. I'd want my products sent to someone who was either gonna take the time - or possess the skills - to make it look as excellent as possible. He gets all this stuff for free, it's in everyone's best interest if it showcased the product in the best light. For all the static Revell has gotten here over the years, other than some 4x4 ride heights on sports cars you never see their kits look bad when Chris builds them compared to how the F-250 that was the subject of my comments back then.

Porsche 911 RSR by Tamiya on Scalemates?
niteowl7710 replied to 64Comet404's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
And one that doesn't exist in any kit form. The Alpha Models GT3RS is close, but still not the right model year. But the Tamiya kit is an entire chassis platform newer than the one he wants. -
Aoshima 2022 NiSMO R35 GTR Special Edition
niteowl7710 replied to martinfan5's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
SnapCar is a brand new 1/24 line of kits which have a traditional style of parts. These '22 GTRs are the second kit. Next will be a current Suzuki Jimny. Next three after that will be a '17 GTR, a Mk4 Supra and Mitsubishi Evo III. SnapKit (what you built) is a 1/32 Scale Series of very simplified starter models. -
Upcoming Aoshima Pickup Releases

I've never understood why that kit doesn't exist, especially given Aoshima's decades long obsession with the movie. -
Should be a thing or two debuted at the Detroit show in November.

Demon is a new tool, gotta spread the costs around to other projects to amortize the costs. Plus all the pre-Round2 kits were all done the old school way with no CAD files so it's a colossal PITA to add to/change them 30 some years later.
-
Yeah but they showed that way back in April at NNL East. It's done and ready, they're just letting the police car version have it's time to sell.

Round2 was on hand today at the Plastic Undercover Show removing a few projects...from under cover *rimshot* Polar Lights kit - Hemi parts were in the tooling, but never run in the kit previously. 76 Nova Pro Street - last seen in 2005 Next Variant of the New Tool Demon. All parts in gray are new

Upcoming Aoshima Pickup Releases
niteowl7710 replied to Jordan White's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
The single cab pickup has always come with USDM parts, apparently those are seen as more desirable in Japan for some reason. Also the single cab has NEVER come with the LHD parts included, as it's a separate tooling created in 2001 vs. 1991 for the quad cab HiLux & HiLux Surf. -
New From Platz/Beemax -1/12th Mazda 787B
niteowl7710 replied to martinfan5's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Given the absolute joke show of the previous reissue of the Tamiya 787B where they didn't even make enough to ship them out of Japan and screwed over everyone who had them pre-ordered at places like HLJ. -
Upcoming Aoshima Pickup Releases
niteowl7710 replied to Jordan White's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
This sorta thing has been needed since these kits were tooled in 2003 (single cab HiLux) and 2001/1980 for the older HiLux (the body is from an old motorized toy, and the rest of the lowrider model kit was tooled in '01). The Nissan 720 has the same lineage - old body with 2001 low rider kit added. Funny 20yrs later they finally got around to it, but I'll take it without too many arguements. -
AMT 2023 Ford Bronco Outer Banks
niteowl7710 replied to Jordan White's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I think Luc is right, practically forces people into 4 doors. I'm not sure anyone who's a classic Bronco fan (regardless as to how old that classic actually might be) wants a 4 door. Broncos never came with back doors until this current one arrived. -
Modelers in the social media age (of all genres) have become uncapable of not screaming from the roof tops about things they're not going to buy. I don't understand it either. But this is a monthly thing here and is really Pre-K/Day Care level of griping compared to the commentary Round2 gets on YouTube and Facebook when they post these updates.

I presume we're talking about the kits from the show? At any rate they came from the tables set up by my local hobby shop. I could have driven out there to pick them up any day they were open, but the model show was on my way home from work, so in my mind I had bonus gas savings. ? I did pay cash, though they do take CCs on site at shows. I suspect the CC transactions get sales tax added. C8 was $27, Charger was $28, and the two Moebius Dodges were $31@

Revell Lincoln mark VII pro street.
niteowl7710 replied to c. jackson's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
There wouldn't be a way to do both without having two kits given the Pro Stock chassis this thing is riding on. I - in my odd kit collecting ways - would have loved a stock LSC, but lamenting it 34 years later? Revell reissues tend to be in runs around 4k pieces, if it's gone already then they sold out. That's a good thing, and a reminder to those who dilly-dally. In a world of limited production numbers, buy it when it comes out, or suffer the secondary market (price) consequences. -
They're currently rolling through all the "B-Side" Street Machine/Customs versions of a lot of the Mueller Era kits from the 90s. Most of which haven't seen the light of day since their one release nearly 30 years ago. After putting out something like 16 new tool kits in 24 months, it's not unreasonable of them to "print money" with existing tooling that just requires box art & decals to release. Especially given the reissues haven't been available in 2+ decades.

Revell adjusted the Skill Levels...must be 10 years ago now back when Hobbico still existed to bring the U.S. and German Skill Levels into the same level. U.S. used 1-3, and Germany used 1-5. The adjusted levels are 1 - Build n Play SnapTite 2 - Regular SnapTite 3 - Prepainted unassembled glue kit 4 - Glue Kit 100 pcs and under 5 - Glue Kit 100 pcs and higher Post Hobbico when Build n Play kits aren't called that and the prepainted body kits don't exist anymore 2 of the levels are now pointless. But basically everything that was 2 is now 4 and 3 is now 5.

Any word on Salvinos tooling up a 2024 Mustang body?
niteowl7710 replied to Matt T.'s topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Supposedly the tooling is finally done after what can only be described as a miserable unfulfilled plan to do it earlier this year. Once the 2025 Mustang was confirmed within NASCAR (since SJR gers their CAD direct from NASCAR itself, not the manufacturers) they green lit the new body tool and allegedly it'll be out in Early 2025. They should be able to go back and do some 2024 liveries with it if they desire.- 1 reply
