Graintruck yea those lights you see came with the trailer kit and they give you quite a few of them. you have to work out the spacing so you dont run out but they look great. -

hey guys thanks for the kind words and encouragement.. every truck i do i try something different.. i figure the half snap kits are one of the cheapest to experiment on. And yes thats a custom airline setup on that deckplate. I saw it on a truck at a show a few years ago and thought it was pretty snazzy. anyways its on to the next build guys Taker' Easy! -
hey guys this is off my bench for the day to get some pics done while its not raining here in PA. This is a peterbilt 359 stretched to 290" wheelbase and skirting added and smoothed out for a lower look. I painted it metallic black with white and burgundy striping trimmed with gold for a seminole paint scheme. 6" pipes on this truck and a painted drop visor top it off and a Gullwing box bumper I made and single beam headlights finish up the front end. I made the single beam headlights from the dual lights in the kit. its not quite finished but i wanted to get some pics while the weather cooperated. I named 'er "Empty Pockets" and even had the name put on the back of the sleeper. enjoy! All comments welcome!

TV show American Trucker
freightshaker replied to Ben's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
ya know its funny that last episode really was starting to remind me of trick my truck, and the trucks they built were very cool looking but i appreciate a nice looking work horse way more than a tricked out show pony any day. that 362 Pete was again nice but not practical. I hope they stay on course and stick to the title.. "American Trucker" because not all truckers can afford to have a show truck like that.. half the roads in here in good ol' pennsylvania would rip those bumpers off the truck not to mention deer running out. -

yeaa i think highway is right i believe that was his kwhopper but none the less why would you drive a truck like that? and its funny that highway mentioned rob in the passengers seat with his foot on the dash.. i said to myself this guy is a total knucklehead.. but i will still tune in to watch it just to see some sweet rides. will they do the rubber duck from convoy? -

thanks for the link my friend it was great to watch some of the oldies.. the movin' on was my fav tho haha. hopefully they add more as time goes on. -
hey thanks guys for the comments im glad you like it, next truck I build will be a Kenworth W900 stretched out with a 60 inch mercury sleeper.. just finding time is the issue right now. Oh and by the way Jim, a tater wagon is what in my area we always called trailers that are 42 to 45 footers, these are usually prime potato hauling trailers. the reason they like em short is because theyre easier for getting in the farms and usually a pretty lightweight trailer. one of Pop's trailers is a 1983 42 ft Utility, it was a reefer trailer in the 80's so its insulated and keeps the taters warm in the winter and cooler in the summer.

hey thanks for the comment guys. The dayton 5 spokers are on there because at the original start of the build I was planning on making a BiModal Road Railer trailer. They came with 5 spoke daytons and had an aluminum pod in between the axles where they mounted the railwheels but I later ditched that idea because of the ridged siding on the trailer, the bimodals were a smooth beaded aluminum side.. My dad had bought one of these years ago and pulled it, pretty neat trailer but was just too heavy for what he was hauling. Oh and the landing gear is missing because that trailer and truck was taken out by a picture falling off my wall a week ago and i just got them fixed up again. I forgot to reattach the landing gear apparently haha.

This lil ride is my Peterbilt 359 with an AMT Reissued Fruehauf that I made into a spread axle. The Peterbilt is painted metallic red with real vinyl striping and a painted drop visor to boot. Its modified with alittle bit of a stretch frame a big bumper made from styrene and chrome vinyl and quilted stainless deck plate. The fruehauf was converted to a spread axle trailer and again I modified the rear of the trailer because I didnt care for the taillight buckets they give ya to put on. Anyways enjoy folks and all input is welcome and appreciated. Tell me what ya think.

Soo guys its been a busy winter I got a dremel tool with cutting wheels to ease my work alittle bit.. a hack saw seemed soo primitive haha. I used a friends heated garage to get the painting done and I finally got a new camera to put up some finished pics of what I have been upto the past few months. here is my K123 Kenworth with a 40 ft Fruehauf Wagon. AMT Reissued K123 is custom painted a little bit of a stretch job on the frame with some extra parts added here and there and real aluminum stacks with miter ends. Real vinyl stripes for a owner operator touch. AMT Reissued Fruehauf is modified with a rear tailight assembly ( I didnt like the tailight buckets they gave it looked too simple) and a set of aluminum wheels from Spaulding Trading. I added a spare tire rack under the wagon attached to the landing gear. Let me know what you think of my lil creations. Enjoy! Notice the the rear cage of the trailer is modified.

soo I was totally stoked after watching the 2 episodes. I hope it lasts. I checked the website and next weeks is the smokey and the bandit truck! -
Thats Incredible! just a beautiful piece.. will look great hooked up to that pete. I pull a polar trailer as well. its the same outside rib design as yours except we pull 6500 gallon tankers for landfill leachate and septic wastes. they look similar but are more of a pot belly style trailer. Anyways great job!

White Road Boss wrecker
freightshaker replied to bitner's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
thats a fantastic looking wrecker! nicley done. Landon -
I just got mine on thursday from towerhobbies. The decal sheet is the old Interstate Trucking Grand Rapids Michigan set. I overlooked the kit and the chrome is nicely done. The chrome tree was pretty much the same chrome as the W925 kits and the engine is a KTA350 Cummins. I also recieved two of the reisued Fruehauf Beaded panel van trailers. They have an AMT company decal sheet as well as Round 2 logos with a kangaroo on them haha. I have started building one of the trailer as a spread axle. pics will be coming as soon as I get a new camera. Mine was broken on new years eve by a clumsy but forgiven girlfriend haha. All in all the Reissue Kenworth kit is a gem and i cant wait to get started on it.
