Sharp build! Like the colors looking patriotic! Can't go wrong there. -
Just be careful comin up over the sisters and donner's pass. I remember coming thru there when I was a kid running produce from the west coast to hunts point market in the Bronx with my dad. He'll chain law was in effect in June and it would 75 and sunny at the bottom and snow blowing on top. Haha

Hey James I saw you're having some trouble deciding on your striping. Here's a link to a thread on here that shows paint schemes and if you Scroll down far enough there are some pics of Astros and their factory Paint layouts. Hope this helps. This is looking good so far buddy. Good luck and keep building!

With that bumper and that spread axle drive you're gonna have a tough looking unit. Off to a good start! -

Thanks, the paint is by far the best I've done till now. As for the bumper guides they're just simple small diameter styrene tubing bent to make a guide and small amber lenses put on top. -
Amt mirrors and frames are sometimes a pain, but for me the biggest pain is coming up with new and creative paint jobs and finding ways to make something different. I'm always looking for different colors. But the best part of model building is the finished product. It makes it all worth it. (Although as my skills improve I'm always going back to update or improve) it's almost a modellers work is never done.

Update, got paint shot on the kenworth today. Clear coated as well. It's a mint green metallic. Just a pic of the mock up. Close up of the paint. Trailer painted. Working on lights and details. Rear doors. Thanks for looking! More to come. -

These kits are so versatile. You can just about do anything with them I swear. The beauty of it is that they're great for experimenting because they're cheap and very easy to pick up just about anywhere! -

Thanks Jim, that's an older kW I built. Here's another shot of it. -

I actually made the stacks from evergreen tubing. I just mitre cut and the put the angles together to make the bull haulers. Then sanded and smoothed out all sharp corners to round and soften them. Cutting the aerodyne off of the kw was almost as much of a challenge as smoothing out the whole left on the cab. I was trying to save as much of the bunk as I could for any future project I might need it. Also if your careful and patient with it you can make smoothing that cab out a lot easier. Thanks for the comments. I will post more progress as I make it. -

So it's been awhile since I've posted anything... Here's a kenworth snapper I've been working on.. Cut the aerodyne off and put a 36" sleeper on it. Also building a custom spreadaxle fruehauf to pull behind it. The trailer has working vent doors on front and rear. Just like all the spud trailers do. It also has a custom drop ICC bumper on it. Thanks for looking! -

Small update, I need to go get some materials I am going to take a shot at building a set of half fenders for her. I did make a bugflector and bumper guides. Susie coils are done. Take a gander. Thanks! -

Ok so I rushed into dropping color on th air cleaners without properly washing them and I don't know what got on the one whether it was my grubby mitts or something with the paint but one of them the paint crinkled and dried up defective. Not cool. So both went to the dip tank and we will retry again. I'm not sure what to do with the quarter fenders though. I would like them to be chrome but I don't have the time or patience for alclad yet.. Just not ready for that. Anyone have ideas how to get a chrome or even fair stainless appearance to them? Everything is coming out perfect with this kit and I want to finish strong with it too.
