Nice build. A 440 in such a "small" car makes it a monster.
-
This is very close to the methode I thought about as well. Only I think I will make the spacers standing betweene each rib, even when shaping the curvature.
-
That is the nicest built '39 Ford model I've seen. Except the windshield. When it comes to everything else, I envy You Your skills.

MPC PD bike with a AMT dragster wheel'n tire up front, and a Maisto rear wheel'n tire. Handels cut off and changed side. Removed casted in clutch, and gearpedal. Also removed casted in kick, and replaced these parts with scratched ones. Removed casted in fenders, and replaced seat with a scratched one.
-
Neither Revell's, or AMT's, grill are correct. The dragster grills looks like this one. The stock Topolino grill is not rounded in bottom. My grillopening is not ready yet, as it is too edgy in the bottom. Also falling in too soon from top to bottom. But as I'm going to make a detailed model, I wish to make the grill see through.

Drill them out. Rings could be done using alutube in correct diameter. I guess Fujimis 356 have simular "clocks". If You find one You could use as donor. If not I might be able to help You there, as I have some 356's I will use as donors anyway. Also remove those silly knobs from the kit dash. If You stretch some sprue, then cut it in the ends, where it get thicker, You have some very close replicas. I just love Your work done to this Porsche. Just looking, I know You'll have no problem replicating the rest. A tip conserning pedals. Heat some sprue, then use a , or another plier, that have a simular pattern to the pedalsurfaces. Sand down to wished for thickness. Cheap, and simple.

No doubt then, the kit was made. The fact that Fred Sterns was offered a dusin at once, is problay a verification in it self. But Art. I'm reading in a magazine from desember 1993. So I must arrest You on the year Mike passed away. Still Your friend Tor Henning

It's a nice donor kit for VW fans. But when You build it with out the top on, it doesn't look to bad either. You have done a very nice on this one, and it will probably be a referance for me when I see other built ones.

What is the date in Hannover?

Not the body that is the problem, but that grill. Guess I will have to try my way. I've seen a stock build up as well based on the AMT body. But both AMT, and Revells grill are wrong, so it would not help using either. AMT, and Revell have used fiberglas cars as theire referance. At least the front have been fiberglas. There they have of course done the grill as easy to install as possible, and casting the front as easy as possible, insted of going for prototypical correct compared to the road car. The Revell '34 You mention is nice as a base building a British Y Ford. That body should also be interesting for those building drag cars. If You like Buttera frames, then that Revell kit could work as donor for both a Aardwark 1915 T, and a Y Ford. That is how I use it.

Taken today, 2012, not 1965!

Nice!! But those wheels and rims kinda tell the story. Not only in the US they are popular. You find them on all kind of American Iron here in Scandinavia as well. -
Put it in the freezer for a week, take it out for three days, then back in the freezer again. Just to get ridd of any bugs. Then in a displaycase as it is. Not neccersarily use the freezer method, but just think that there might be some small spidereggs, or other bugs in there, that You might need to kill. I wish my wife would appriciate more of the older nostalgica. Not much of it in our house.

No one?????

Love it Micheal! Espacially the chassis. I have to have a trip to a German modelcarshow. Long time since I talked to those guys I know down there.

Glad You liked it Erik. You must remember, as You have that cokebottle shape, You will only manage to get a straight beltline, when seen right on. If Your Merc are pictured as this one, the coke bottle shape will be visible. That is when You need to be aware how the belt line flows with the upper line. What looks right straight on, just don't comes right when You begin to go arround the car. That is why there is so few well known customs, compared to the amount customs made. I love the way the Impala lines flows, and that is why I think You should consider keeping it, maybe even enhance it.

That is a lot of work! And nicely done as well.

Should I? Yes I will. Some more. A lovely multimedia kit of the first Türkish massproduced car. Another Liteace Maybe the rarest one I have in 1/24 scale. A seldom seen MPC Paddywagon. And what about this long box Chevy stepside? Nice Honda This one is one of those batteling for the title worst kit ever. No, I don't have this one. It's the Revell kit, but under another Logo. I could probably find more at my Fotki page, but this is enough by now.

I've gave away a Grip Honda Civic last year. Or he will pay for the next one I find inside a decent price. There have been some arround the later years, and they rarely reach 100 dollars. The body, and exterior is very nice, but the rest is typical batteryoperated japanese toycars. From own collection. AMT did Heller kits: Quality ain't bad, but a 5 year old could put it together. OK, it's resin. Might be remastered, and rereleased. Just a uncommon box. Very limited. A gift from the guy whom built the master. MPC had more 1/20 VW based. One I'm very glad having. Japanese van Not that obsccure Honda. A favourite. Might use Tamiyas 1/18 as referance for detailing.

Love this Merc Erik! There is something I think You might need to look more on though. I took the freedome of printing out one of Your pictures, and draw some lines. They tell more then my poor english. Please don't look at this as a "how to do this tip", just a fellow modeller playing arround on a very nice idea. The lower line is how I think the lines of the two bodies must flow. Then You might choose to make the upper bodymoulding so it more follow the excisting coke bottle shape. I like the line A better then line B. Both are close to parallell to the lower line, creating a even flow. Still, it is just one mans opinion, and not the only correct answer.
-
That is very close to the lines of the Jag XK120. If you lay down the rear roofline just a bit, and make the windows that end in the C pillar have the same line as the rearfenders.............. Oh!! I'll swap some Street Heat Concorde wheels, and tires, for one resinbody.

Love T's, and there is nothing wrong with this one. Thank You for rehabilitating it, and show it to us.

I'm not sure which gasser class it would be put into, probably better of as Brackett. Still inspiration is from the good old gassers. YES, A IMPERIAL. That is a '57 Chrysler chassis. Mixup of partsbox parts for the engine. Revell '57 Chevy had the right front axel. Some smaller surgery. Black with flake. Lime green, and Bare Metal. This is where it stays today, and have been during a building drought with hardly any models finished. But I got inspired by Gothic Kustomz Tilted Glasshouse , so this will be found, and finished.
