  1. in that instance, i'd build the kit, but keep the box to display it with. models are meant to be built. let collectors go to the prebuilt diecast market.
  2. i got it from thePartsBox, i think it was $80. They are in hiatus while they move to their new warehouse. as to the size, here i photoed it for you, next to my 60s Ranchero.
  3. unfortunately the only market i've seen lately is ebay. if you are wondering who ADR cavalier is, this is their website http://www.cavalierm.../ResinKits.html Chuck, that XT is available from thepartsbox, but you'll have to wait, they are still moving their factory (website closed until finished moving). www.partsbox.com.au
  4. This is the Tractor from thepartsbox. It's a fairly simple resin kit. I'm thinking i should paint it red, maybe sometime in the future. for now i just added a few extra details from my spares (eg a gear lever, pedals, headlights and a tow hitch).
  5. it came out quite nicely. i'm sure they liked it. did you do the trim with a brush? looks like that would have been hard to do.
  6. The kit comes with a nissan engine. But i do need a RHS door scoop if anyone has one
  7. that's what i call a sweet vicky. well done.
  8. wow,,, that is nicely built model.
  9. That's an ugly porsche, but your mods make it much nicer.
  10. that's great. i like the custom side-scoop and opening doors looks like a lot of work.
  11. Man, that is total awesomeness. i think the first bit of 'practice' really helped, because the second was so much nicer. i'm tripping!
  12. Icon have released a racing version of this car, plus one in white and a XW (previous model). stump, that photo is upside down
  13. I found another hood, so i filled in the vents stripped the paint after a couple days in brake fluid. unfortunately i lost one door scoop (RHS) . i hope i've got one in my spares box. (it's not in the fluid, so i think it might have fell off while i was washing it, so down the drain, literally). the pillar scoops came off in my hands.
  14. This car replicates the one seen in Fast & Furious 3. the protagonist looses his car and is left with a mustang without an engine and a wrecked Silvia, so they combine them into a working drift car. i actually built this car ages ago from AMT's F&F3 kit, but i put the hood too near the lamp and it melted (warped). i never finished it, but i got as far as starting some new rims of correct style (at least, closer than was was supplied in the box) with limited success. i see now that the paint has cracked/crazed and will need to be repainted anyway, so maybe start again.
  15. wow, looking interesting. those rears are mad wide..
  16. nice looking van. well done on opening up every door. i was hoping to see someone get away with replicating the sliding door for my in progress van.
  17. very nice italian stallion. is that a metalflake paint?
  18. heck, that's nicely built. big thumbs up
  19. i thought you might like this comparison shot
  20. looks like a nice clean build. how did you find it?
  21. yes, i'd like to find correct rims. any ideas?
  22. This is Jackie Chan's Mitsubishi from Cannonball Run 2 (he had a subaru in the first 'Run) that he drives with Richard 'Jaws' Kiel. It's a fujimi Starion, which i added the detailed computerised interior, mostly made from styrene boxes with a photo of computer bits on the face, taken from the movie. it was hard to cram it all in there. externally i added the six exhaust holes and changed the wheels to some parts box ones. decals are home printed. ###### dust. it was only sitting for a few minutes before it looked covered by dust.
  23. that's a hell of a photo and an interesting job to do. i like how you have the exposed fibreglass on the wheel arches.
  24. The movie is about a young fella in the late 1970s, partaking in life's pleasures of Cars, Girls and Booze. it's a glimpse into australian life at the time (1970s).This is the Protagonist's Holden in the movie before he fixes it up. It's a typical young person's ride, not much to look at but something to learn to drive in and escape the boredom of suburbia and do a bit of street racing. Later in the movie, he paints it canary yellow. The model is ADR resin kit. i didn't bother to detail it. i just mimicked the 'work-in-progress' paint job. i had to fabricate a rear parcel shelf since they either missed it or never included one. interior is sprayed in Vinyl brown paint. i added the number plates NSW BAD-781 by printing onto photo paper from MS Word.
  25. that thing is whacked. be interesting to see how you get away with it.
