Hi, Nice job on the Aston! I've built one of these as well and found some of it a bit tricky for a Tamyia kit - did you have trouble getting the decals to stay on?
-
Hi, Really nice build - you should be pleased and proud of what you have produced!

Hi, Nice to see people still enjoing these AMT kits - my first ever model kit was one of these! You've done a nice job on yours and the load goes well with the White Freightliner. I've got one of these to build and I plan to do a better job than I did in '75! -
project pro street 4.25.15 brass time!
Jim Whalen replied to streetmachine11's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Hi, Great 1:1 car - you must be proud of it! You've made a good start on the model - I know what you mean about building a model of your own car. I started a model of my street rod before it was finished - the car has been on the road 7 years and the model is still in its infancy! -
Hi, Nice job on the Ford. KFS here in England did a very nice one of these in resin and would consider a re-run, certain to conditions: We have been asked if we would be prepared to make a special re-run of any particular kit or transkit that has already been issued for the final time & is now discontinued. The answer to the question is yes, if the 'buyer' is prepared to place a deposit on & subsequently purchase at least 30 of the re-run of 50 kits. So, if any individual customer, group of modellers, association, club, or company wants a further re-issue of a discontinued transkit please feel free to contact KFS to discuss costs, terms & conditions, & lead time. This applies to kits already discontinued as well as kits still on sale or about to be re-issued that will ultimately be a discontinued item. Kits already sold out & discontinued for example are;- Tracked Excavator, Michigan L190 Shovel Loader, Nooteboom 78/04 trailer, White Road Commander II, Scammell Crusader, Scammell Trunker, Seddon Atkinson 401, Scammell S26/Leyland T45, Leyland Marathon, Ford CL9000, Mk2 Atkinson, Scania CP28 Crewcab, Scania R Series P Sleeper, Scania R Series P Daycab, Iveco EuroTech/SA Strato, Foden Alpha, Mack F700 Daycab, ERF ECS, ERF ECT, ERF A Series, ERF E Series, Ford Transcontinental, Bedford KM

Hi, this is definitely a good forum - not the only one I belong to but probably the most active with a good spread of topics. -
Hi, A good outcome after your paint struggles - well done! I'm sure you'll find a good way to get paint down onto model cars.

Hi, Looks like a good start to the chop.

1969 Camaro Pro Mod.... updates 11/12/13
Jim Whalen replied to tyrone's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Hi, Your work is incredible and I would very much like to do a promod build one day so I always enjoy looking at your builds. Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to start one! Looking forward to seeing more of this '69 Camaro. -

Hi, You've made a nice start with the conversions - I'll be watching this one! -
Anybody have this problem?
Jim Whalen replied to mnwildpunk's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hi, The minute you started thinking "this might be my best model ever" the expectation and pressure went up due to being aware of a possible outcome goal - try to avoid this! I know its very hard when a build is going well but if you concentrate on performance goals instead (.e. developiing your skillsr) it may be easier to move forward. As the others have said swapping projects for a bit will probably help. I usually have 2 or 3 projects on the go for a variety of reasons, with this being one of them. -
Hi, I believe Rick was the second owner of this aftermarket company and, like the first, he provided a great service (especially considering I'm in England!). I hope things get sorted - I know what its like when things in life pile up making everything - even those you enjoy - difficult. I was planning to order some stuff for a couple of projects I have going, will watch how things develop with interest.

Hi, Good thread and some excellent examples that'll help people with their building. For me, in the following categories, are: Tools - airbrush and compressor that you can adjust the pressure with Resources - magazines, Donn Yost's dvds and the internet connection (can't imagine life without it now) Accessories - opitvisor - vison is sure less flexible than it used to be! Going to shows and meeting people is also a great way to expand the hobby!

Hi, Fanastic work you're doing on this '67 vette! I'm working on a '63 at the moment but it'll be nothing like yours, although I'll try some of your ideas. You can get wooden steering wheel rims from Replicas and Minatures of Maryland. When I had a go it broke into small pieces (you have to separate the rim halves from a chunk of cherry wood) but will go back to it sometime with white glue. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your build. I've been building for quite a while now and if my second build was a good as this I'm sure my name would be well known in the model building world!! If you keep in the hobby (please do!!) I'm sure you'll become a well known and respected builder.

Auslowe Kenworth T904
Jim Whalen replied to Bennyg's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Hi, Thanks - I know of a Czech company that does photo-etch stuff and I think they do Kenworth grilles. Hopefully that'll be the way to go to improve the grille on the transkit I've got. -
Hi, It'd be great to have a modern Kenworth or Pete. Moebius have done a great job with the Internationals and trailer kit (from what I've read and heard, haven't had personal experience yet) so I'm sure they'd have success. Wonder if its choice or licencing issues that has influenced their decisions so far?

Hi, Nice build of the '32 - screams hot rod with the green paint and yellow flames contrasting well.

Hi, Nice looking build. I've got a resin Kenworth cab kicking around in my loft to put together at some point but have shied away from it as its going to take some work to get it looking good. What did you use to do the grille? -
HI, Nice build of the Impala - combinations work really well.

Hi, Welcome to the forum! Where in the UK are you? You may be lucky enough to have a show happening near you one day that'll do wonders for your inspiration. Cheers, Jim
