  2. Looks like something I saw not too long ago... Without the rocket car of course...
  3. The decals are on and the clear has been applied, time to let it dry for a while…
  4. Just be aware, we do not have a "Display Only" section, only room for the finished model competition classes. Does that provide a little more initiative?
  5. Hi Jairus. Firstly, I am well aware of the meaning of those words, even though I did not use or imply "Logical" in my comment. C'mon Hot Wheels in mixed scales? Logical? I was actually referring to the responses within the linked The Coffin Corner thread, not ones here at MCM. But if you would like to infer anything I wrote as being directed at you, I have no control over that. I think just because timing was such I posted after you, you may have assumed I was directing my comment to you? One last thing, please explain how you possibly interpreted what I wrote as if I was intent on not allowing other's to voice their opinion? I guess there wasn't enough drama today...?
  6. WD-40 needs much more compression than gasoline to ignite, that works against you in this. Gasoline cannot be scaled down, nor can the atmospere so creating a conducive combustable environment is close to if not impossible in this scale using the V8 you'd like.
  7. Even with an unlimited budget, how would you create an atmosphere a 1/25 scale engine could run in? What fuel could you use? Some things simply cannot be scaled down.
  8. While working features apparently are attractive to some, I prefer more accuracy over things that move just to move. Less chance of breaking too...
  9. Do I need meds or 3D glasses to see that correctly?
  10. Did that round "M" Mopar logo exist back in the day? I thought it was a more modern logo. I'd be afraid to be around one of those cars with the "canards", looks like a medival device to remove your feet at the ankles. They have been outlawed haven't they?
  11. PE wires could help bring it to life...
  12. I think you will learn a lot about how an engine works if you give this a shot.
  13. The problem is not so much with the mechanical workings (although they would be very fragile at that scale) but the heat and pressure associated with combustion and compression along with certain parameters that must be preserved for combustion in any size. I won't even get into the lubrication and fuel atomization problems... If you just want an engine that can be manually opereated or 'turned over" it removes many of the hurdles relating to an actual running engine. But it would need some compromises and concessions to even just be turned over by hand. Can we count on you to make one now Andy? Afterall, we have simplified it for you...
  14. Any way you can replace the earlier in progress pics? I'd like to see more, I have almost started one of these a few times.
  15. Will you have it done by the 24th of this month? For you know what...
  16. You could make your own popcorn couldn't you...?
  17. Those are the only problems you see right now... The more I think about it the more impossible it appears. Even running it on compressed air would be a feat, but theoretically possible.
  18. The part of me that favors natural selection wants to say go for it, but only for the driver's seat. What a moron! Now who here will do a model of it?
  19. Actually the Goodwrench car decals won't work on the truck as well or as easily as it looks on the surface. But since all these R/M Chevy trucks share the same parts, all you'd need is the decals from the Skinner Goodwrench truck issue. I'm not sure if they were done by an aftermarket company, but get the ones for the truck as opposed to the car to make building it easier on you.
  20. Love the Breadvan, but I thought the Corvette was cooler back then than I do now...
  21. You can't scale the atmosphere down that small to run even if you made it out of metal. Even as a two-stroke it would be nearly impossible to get the compression and mass needed to run. Factor in plastic construction and the answer is no.
  22. Wow, that is very impressive! I'm glad it got brought back up as I missed it earlier.
  23. Not exactly the best rendered wheels, but then it is an older kit. Did what I could with them… Kit was missing the tire decals, but the Ferrari 330 had an extra set, but a tad small in diameter for these tires, so I cut the pinstripe and hand painted the gaps back in after they were applied.
  24. I find it ironic how these renderings are disliked by some because "they aren't realistic". It's not like any plastic was harmed... I applaud the creativity even though some just don't "do it" for me. Ironically these types of designs are very similar to customized Hot Wheels I have seen due to the mixing of scales within a single subject.
  25. The interior did benefit from the seat decals. If I do another one of these I’ll fill in the molded seat dimples. At least through the windows and inside the body it looks good. The kit even provides a fiddly little vac-u-form piece for the intake as well as two white metal parts and one PE.
