  4. Nice! yes, I have a larger piece of brass tubing I epoxied into a board and a nail next to it. That is how I made the drive shaft loop! Jody Nice! yes, I have a larger piece of brass tubing I epoxied into a board and a nail next to it. That is how I made the drive shaft loop! Jody
  5. I will add in my two cents here. I use a weller soldering station as I can not afford a resistance soldering set up. Make sure your brass is clean and polished. Heat it up with the soldering iron then solder it, this way the solder will flow into your joint for a stronger joint. I use rosin core silver solder. Works very well! Also, I will use a smaller diameter tube or wire inside the joint to give it strength! If I am doing several joints near each other, I will use small clips for heat sinks. Also, I will do extra solder on the joint, then use a jewelers file later to smooth it out. For aluminum, I use epoxy for joining. The weller station runs around $40. A pound of solder about $13 on ebay. I also use a miniature miter saw wich I bought mine from annaconda on ebay for about $35. Here is a pic of a current project. I have also done a 1/12 scale motor cycle frame. Thanks. Jody

  13. Thank you guys! Yes, they say I was recovering thew fastes they ever saw any one as within one hour of being suitured, I was awake and starting to walk laps. But I know it will take some time for the pain to go away, esp. for the slice in the belly button. also will take time to get back to eating regularly. Wich, having high triglicerits and acid reflux for sure now, I have to change my diet Jody

  22. In those pics, the power cord would go from the wall to the dimmer switch, then wires to the outlet. You can if you wish, cut the cord on the dehydrator and run the plug end into the dimmer switch, then from the dimmer switch to the dehydrator. Then the only investment you have is on the box, the switch and the cover, about $8 at most! I already have the box and the cover, so all I need is the switch! LOL. Hopefully today maybe I can try to figure out what mine runs at. Wife says we do have a meat thermometer, its just a matter of finding it. LOL. Jody
  23. Cool! Thats one thing we can decide once we have the group established. I do have pro street parts here for it as well as the stock so we are good to go there. I have nominated my self bod man for now. the inside is almost smoothed out. Some putty and sanding for that. I am also currently stripping the old primer off so I can see what we have to do on the out side as I can tell it was not put together perfectly square so ill be trying to tru that up a tad. its not bad, but I am a beast of its gotta be as good as perfect if not better when it come to the body work! LOL. Thats why I never get anything done I think? LOL. Jody
  24. I received the project 1941 Willy's in today from Rick and Don. Body needs some work esp. inside, but it is a great starting point for a nice project. I look at it and I know personally I am tossed up between gasser or pro street! LOL. Now I know I have posted before on this and had some interest. the idea here is I received this body free with a bunch of other stuff for the intention of doing a group build. The people who join in on the group build will each get a specific project to do on the build. When the build is completed, the people who help with the build will have thier names entered into a drawing. The person whos name is picked gets the model. Several of the items were already painted etc. I am exchanging these items out with whats in my collection so that everything will be fresh for the build. I know I have several different areas where I can help in this. But since I have it first, I will certainly start by doing the body work, making the outside contours match on both sides, the rear window is corrected and all panel/door lines scribed in and the interior of the body is smoothed out. I do know that ratfink said he would join in. he lives near me, so we can work together. For everyone else, the sub assemblies or parts will be mailed to them to work on. Now I have seen in the past where this has not worked out. So for the most part, I will be keeping the majority of the build here so no one can try to abscound with it. This is supposed to be a fun build for several to get into! kinda like if we had our own hobby club and did it! So I want to know who is on board and serious about it! Once I know who wants in, we can start to work out the details and deligate the different portions of the build out to everyone! Thanks! Jody
