Hi Guys, well I've been really busy with the business lately (Thank you to all my customers and dealer ) and finally got around to getting the pics resized etc. to put up. Well here's the finished pics, much more of them in "Under Glass". As always thanks for checking it out along the way. Till next time, Charlie Pro Tech

Thanks Tom for the further info! If it flows better than the enamel I'm going to give it a go. Yes it make sense "close and quick" I use the same technique I think you have more control of the spraying operation. Charlie Pro Tech

Thanks guys, It's real close and should be done very, very soon Thanks Tom for the pic. That does look great for unsanded/polished and for a Lac. at that. All the Lac. I've shot always had a slight surface ripple ala orange peel etc. Was it shot with airbrush or rattle can? I only use cans as I hate the set-up/clean-up of a brush lol.... Just wondering, have you tried Testors One Coat clear Lac. ?, I've heard good things but have no direct experience with it yet. Charlie Pro Tech

Jim, thanks, those were more of a bear than I thought they were going to be. Hondo, thanks, hey ya mean I didn't have to spend 50 hrs on doing the body, heck I could have already had this done by now lol............. Brad, thanks, appreciate it! Hey John buddy, thanks and I love you using them Bob, thanks, much appreciated Aaron, thanks bud and I love your avatar Ed, thanks and yes I have connections Chris, thanks man and I'm a big fan of your awesome work also. Doug, thanks. All I could say on cleanliness of a build is to never rush any segment of a build. Always take your time and be pleased with the fit etc. before you do final gluing. Also on of amount of glued used you can get by with alot less than you think, as the old saying say's "less is more" Also take into account the best type of glue to use for a specific application, the assortment of glues I use for builds comes from - fast setting CA, medium setting CA, 5 min. epoxy, Testors liquid, Testors tube, Future (floor coating), used for setting all of my fuel, oil, etc lines and fittings, white glue for doing the complete mockup of the build before I ever put any paint on it. I look forward to you build as I love the vintage stuff! Steve, thanks! Hi John, how ya been bud? thanks and always love seeing your vintage stuff, I think we're cut from the same cloth for the love of the "days gone by" drag racing. Charlie Pro Tech

1/16 Tommy Ivo Front Engine Dragster. Updated 3/29/14
Pro Tech replied to jasoncamaro's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Jason, nice start, good idea on the mock-up, make sure those parts fit before you get paint on them. I'll be watching! Charlie Pro Tech -
As stated, is there a caster that is or planning to do the seat for the "Young American" F/E dragster that now comes in vinyl which you can't do much with. If done in resin you can sand and remove the belts and add P/E ones, weather seat etc. Just so much more you can do with a resin piece. Looking for responses . Charlie Pro Tech

Chuck is always a pleasure to talk/do business with. Hey Chuck, we need some resin castings of the seat that comes with the "Young American" to replace the vinyl seat that you can't do much with. Charlie Pro Tech -
They would make a great addition to the aftermarket ! Charlie Pro Tech

Ben, yes you're right, you bought them from me Oct. 2012 not Oct. 2013 (my typo via email). The point of my post was not to bash you on the forum, I just wanted an explanation as to what you used for your master. You know if you were to come to me and ask if there was a way you could use that part of my master maybe we could have worked something out and none of this would have happened. But when someone goes and uses a original master (that I paid good money for to Jeff Sauber) without even contacting the owner of the piece that becomes a whole new ball game and the reason that I made my post. That being said I do accept your apology and I'm glad your learning the business and if you keep your operation "clean" you could go far and make a reputable name for yourself such as I have for Pro Tech. I do wish you well for the future of your business. Charlie Pro Tech

John, looking sharp buddy! Charlie Pro Tech -
Casey, The reason I didn't PM or email him is due to the following reasons. I have had a few people tell me that one of BNL carburetor sure looks alot like part of my Demon carburetor (PTMC 67). So instead of those people wondering (and myself) I thought Ben could offer an explanation to the question I posted. If he can explain where that part of his carburetor came from he could clear up the wondering by all. If he cannot explain his actions to produce the carburetor in question wouldn't we all want to know ? I know I would as a possible customer. I run a reputable company and think others in the industry should do the same, if they can't they should not be doing business as it hurts those trying to do the right "and ethical" thing. Just one last note, I'm not sure how it fits into this situation but I went back through my books and found a order that Ben (BNL Resins) placed for.... are you ready? 2 Demon carburetors, hmmm, I wonder what he used those for? Charlie Pro Tech

Ben, could you tell me what kit etc. you used for that center section of your 4 Barrel Carburetor, sure looks awful familiar to me. I'm all ears... BNL 4 Barrel Carburetor Pro Tech's Barry Grant Demon Carburetor (mastered by Jeff Sauber exclusively for Pro Tech) Charlie Pro Tech
