  1. Yes, I'm completely out of touch ..LOL
  2. Bill ( ace garage guy ) Pico told me the name of the open source software he uses for design.. I can't remember what it's called, do you know off hand what it is ? $100 is highway robbery ...
  3. Mine weren't like that at all.. weird. They are really BIG tires. I swapped the tires out though.. the "bigs & littles look wouldn't work to good on a Ferrari ..
  4. Results of the trade for the 1:16 Chi Town Hustler ... Thanks to Jack
  5. I'm happy for you, no ill will intended. You're one of the very lucky few. There is more negative stuff about Strada than there is positive ..
  6. Very clean, very nice build.. did you paint it or did you just polish the plastic ? Either way it looks immaculate ..
  7. Finally got the Fujimi wheels I ordered off eBay.. they look great and will look even better on the 308 I'm building..
  8. Looking at the pics of the 1:1 car, you can definitely see the 911 influence in the roof line .. just awesome ..
  9. getting closer and closer.. really looking forward to the finished product
  10. There is a simple way to remedy this issue. There is an OVERABUNDANCE of "canned" website designs that have a built in cart, that automatically makes the inventory changes for you. All you have to do is enter the correct number of the items on hand, the program does the rest. Once the last item is sold, it will show "out of stock" alerting potential buyers. They ( the customer ) can make an informed decision form there. Look elsewhere or roll the dice and place an order and wait. Indefinitely. Also, a simple disclaimer up front, along the lines of " Items listed may or may not be in stock, please call or email to determine availability". But that only works if the seller actually communicates in a timely fashion with the potential customer. As I said before, in todays world of "instant" communication, there is no valid excuse for somebody offering a service to not respond within 24 hrs. Being a small side business coupled with a "real" job or being "too busy" is not a valid excuse. Do one or the other, or update your website with automation tools. Pretty simple stuff to alleviate poor customer service, confusion and angry customers, wouldn't you agree ?
  11. That's your choice, but you're supporting / encouraging bad business practice . Your choice though ..
  12. Speaking of T/A's .. I picked this MPC T/A and a TJ Hooker lightbar off eBay to make the Nevada Highway Patrol T/A form the opening scene of The Cannonball Run ..now I just need to order 2 different sets of NHP decals to make the correct ones .. this hobby is pricey ...
  13. BLASPHEMY !!! BLASPHEY I SAY !!! Great build but why oh why would you have a MoPar being towed by a chebbie ... *facepalm*
  14. I said it before, I had the Omni ( squared off hatchback ) Shelby GLHS back in the day. I got it because my parents insurance was astronomical for a VW GTI .. go figure the Shelby was 20X the car the GTI was. From a roll or a dead start that little Shelby would humiliate Camaros and Mustangs of the day.. Of all the cars and trucks I've had over the years , it's a toss up between either one of the 2 '69 Roadrunners I had or the GLHS. Gas prices being what they are today, I think the GLHS would win ..
  15. Some people don't mind waiting indefinitely. I'm not one of those people. If I'm laying out my money for an item, I either want it in my hand or have a concrete date that I will have it in my hand. I guess I'm just one of those "crazy" people that likes to know what's going on .. If you've ever had the "pleasure" of meeting this guy in person, as I have, you kinda get the big picture. He acts a bit "aloof" like he's just a little better than everyone else and he's doing the world a favor by being in business. There are enough people that tolerate his practices to keep him in business, I won't be one of them ..
  16. Head down to the ER, they have a shot for that ..
  17. Austin, let me know what you think about that Shelby, I just got one on eBay .. hasn't come in yet
  18. It was a pretty darn good show.. A lot bigger than I expected .. tons of stuff and some really great builds ..
  19. No sir, Smyrna Ga , Last Saturday ...
  20. Pretty decent haul, I thought I spent too much at Smyrna ..LOL congrats on the awards too.. maybe someday I'll sack up & put something on the table ..
  21. Which is why I am spending so much time looking into setting something up.. guys like Pico are already way ahead ... but after seeing the wheels & Lambo body he had at Smyrna , I'd say he's on the right path. Having the ability to make drastic or not so drastic changes on a computer monitor vs. sculpting and re-sculpting .. it's pretty much a no brainer .. no waste, much faster time from concept to prototype to production, having the option of buying the file & printing it yourself or sending it to a company to have it printed .. it's coming, whether you like it or not .. and it will be a game changer ..
  22. Just an FYI, that is completely untrue, the fenders, hoods, grilles, front valances , bumpers are completely different. You couldn't replace the fender on a '70 Duster with those of a '71 Demon. The Demon has "fender extensions" that were made of pot metal. This is true of all years of the A-Body construction. Just thought I'd pass that info along .. I'd have to check , but I'm almost positive the core supports have different part numbers as well ... The front ends were completely interchangeable .. but only as a complete swap ..
  23. Alumilite White (Amazing Casting Resin) 2 gal. White $114 plus shipping .. still need a "master" , still need material to make the mold , vessels to mix and measure , all of this incurs more cost and TIME. When you are done you'll have a finished product that will undoubtedly need more clean up than a 3-D printed part. Again, we're back to this "time" thing. You're also going to get a limited amount of casting before the mold is no longer usable and you're back to square one. 3-D printing filament is currently $31 a roll from Amazon.com , a "decent" 3-D printer is in the $500 -$1500 price range. The FlashForge 3D printer which is currently $1200 also from Amazon is a pretty good machine, is stand alone, meaning you just plug in the file and go and will print in a range from 0.01 to 0.03 mm, giving you an undoubtedly cleaner final product than resin casting will. ( while the initial price may be daunting, the cot will offset itself quickly, depending on how much casting you do ) Now, as far as the files go, there are PLENTY of 3-D files out there that are easily converted to work with a 3-D printer, a lot of them are free, some are not. But, once the file is yours , you can print to your hearts content . Also you can "reverse engineer" files from video games to get different body styles or mod them to make them your own . I wonder, did people fight change like this when indoor plumbing was invented ? They did with the TV, VCR, DVD etc etc .. but look at where they are now ? Support will undoubtedly grow as this technology progresses. I see it this way. You can either accept it, embrace it, or get out of the way. It's pretty simple.
  24. The coolest thing about this build is, it's gets the imagination flowing.. awesome stuff
