  1. She's looking outstanding, Tyrone! I haven't looked at the rules for this class, but I'm assuming tubular K-members are legal for it (given all the other allowable mods). I trust you'll be showing off your skills by adding one of those to the front end.?.?.? Keep it up, bro!
  2. That's a really sharp build, John. I love the color and your detailing looks great!
  3. It's looking mighty fine, Joe. Boy - making four sets of anything identical is a major undertaking, but your headers have turned out great! Keep up the great work.
  4. That's an excellent suggestion! Thanks...
  5. This is a cool, outside-the-box build, Kerry. If it's an unruled class, I kind of like the T/F wing idea... You're off to a great start! What kit did this start out as? I've got a couple of the pro street Berettas (which I hope will eventually be used as pro stockers) but nothing like this.
  6. Thanks buddy! Now I can make it through the day... lol You do such fantastic work, Dave...
  7. Thanks Ray. Shooting some primer on it certainly makes all the work that remains stand out more! LOL It also helps add some three-dimensionality that might otherwise get lost when it's white plastic. I appreciate your comment, Bill. It's sort of slow going sometimes, but I'm making some progress...
  8. I'm ready for another update, Dave...
  9. Hey Tyrone, Your subframe connectors and other bracing in the floor pan look great. I like how you actually cut your connectors into the floor. Did you do the same thing with the diagonal connectors? I can't tell for sure about them. Also, how do you make the bends in your roll cage tubing to be so crisp, i.e., what is the process you follow to make them that sharp? She's going together well, my friend...
  10. I hate to use the same word so many others have already used, but it's very suitable. Your build is so clean. The wheels you chose to use work really nicely and your paint looks flawless. The color really sets it apart from lots of other builds, too...
  11. Very clean build, Glen. And I really like the colors you chose for your two-tone paint...
  12. Thanks Ray. I love seeing the step-by-step process. Unfortunately, I'm not as good at following that advice in documenting my own build...
  13. Looks super so far, Dave. As Tyrone already said, it looks like a 1:1 build...
  14. It's looking really good so far Darryl. I'll keep watching... I'll have to try out that Dupli-Color chrome some time. Looks good!
  15. That is downright nasty looking, Jeff...
  16. It's looking real good, Ray. I really enjoy watching your progress.
  17. Great to see you start on this part of the project Dave. What are the dimensions (OD and wall thickness) for your frame rail tubing? I'm looking forward to seeing this go together...!
  18. Joe - the CF question is a good one. I guess I'll toss this thought in, just because I can, that if someone is building this as an NHRA car, the spoiler is supposed to be painted to match the body, so, at least in that instance, a CF finish wouldn't work. If a guy was real careful, holes for small rivets could be drilled and rivets installed to replicate them. Real PE, could, of course have starter holes etched so the layout work would be done beforehand. Thanks Bill! I totally agree about what you said re resin spoilers. It's a pain in the rear to even fit what I've done so far, and the 3-5-degree change that I need to raise the rear of this spoiler will necessitate adding material outboard where it meets the deck lid so it fits tight. If I offer a spoiler or template, it will be intended to fit this body only - I guarantee that. Your template/spoiler option is a good suggestion! I'll probably experiment with some bracketry and see what I can come up with in PE.
  19. I think/hope I've pretty much finalized the shape of the windshield opening and the extension, while not quite finished is pretty close. I've also begun work on the rear spoiler. I know that the trailing edge of it has to come up a bit to be NHRA legal because the angle is below parallel to the ground. I'll work on that, but at least it's started. Still trying to decide what I'll do for spill plates. PE ones would be a whole lot easier to make and match side-to-side, not to mention being more to scale, thickness-wise. That, of course, then raises the question about what to make the main spoiler out of... Anybody got any opinions about that? PE vs. resin vs. a provided template so the builder could scratch build something out of .030 styrene?
  20. As several others have stated, I sort of floated over the top of this one. You've done some outstanding work on the chass and things are really working well together Edward. It sets really nice. Now that I know what this thread is, I'll be sure to pop in and see what you've been up to!
  21. Thanks Bill. I'm glad you like the looks of my fabbed rear end housing. I'll try to post some updates on it soon. Dave - thanks! I'm making progress, little by little. Thank you, Richard. I love fabrication and modifying things better than I do building (which explains why I never get anything built!). Thanks Edward. I'm going to add the filler bung on top of the housing and a drain plug on the bottom and am working on PE 4-link brackets that will fit it when all is said and done. I hope to get a couple pics posted tonight.
  22. Wow! Your revised roofline really gives it a totally different personality. I might add that that personality is VERY sinister... . I love it!
  23. Yep, I know... I think the lights are about the only items left on this that haven't had some sort of mod made to them.
  24. Thanks Kerry! lol Come to think of it, I'm hoping to use the headlight bezel inserts and clear aero covers too!!!
