  1. I don't understand your logic here folks. Anytime you apply negative camber into a suspension its gonna improve the grip and make it more responsive.
  2. Nice and clean for sure! Great execution and love the way the light rolls across it. Looks fast just sitting still!
  3. Very nice and clean work Shayne. Great looking car!
  4. Nope. No need to apologize, you were right, he got snowed! Hahaha!!!
  5. I think of winning a contest as more of a compliment then a goal. I build more for realism as my goal. If it happens to place then that's just a great compliment for me. Same with making it into a magazine. I don't believe realism is achieved with the amount of aftermarket/pe parts that are used but rather with good solid "basic" skills. Which I believe are a must. They're just as important as adding paint and glue to your kit. Don't get me wrong, I love to use aftermarket and pe parts to do what is mentioned above, enhance the kit and to achieve realism. Same with scratch building. I don't see much use in taking the time to "add" things if the basics are missed.
  6. Simply beautiful! Great job. I followed along with the build and have enjoyed the whole process as well.
  7. Thanks Tommy
  8. I'm confirming what Tommy said at least as far as the originals are concerned. When me and a buddy of mine saw the re-release we were curious as to whether or not the problems were addressed and fixed. I'm guessing by reading this they were not?
  9. I agree with you and can see why you like the stock version. However as most everyone else has stated they are both gorgeous. You did a great job!
  10. These are beautiful! I particularly like the window net treatments.

  12. Man, you would just about have to lay down to get in that Volvo. Did anyone notice the mirror extensions? Its pulling the camper!
  13. I think it looks great for being your only one!! Job well done. Keep em coming.
  14. I'm gona have to exercise your idea with those tires for one of my projects John. Very cool man. Also too I love all the cars from the '90's your always posting. My favorite time of NASCAR. Keep up the good work my friend!
  15. Beautiful man! Great job.
  16. That's some awesome stuff! Great job!!
  17. I've had the pleasure of seeing this car in person. Its just a beautifully built machine. Great job again my friend. The pics don't do it justice.
  18. Nice job Tom. Don't see too many built in this fashion. Its got just the right touch of detail too.

  20. That's what I'm saying.... More pics please! Show us that engine bro!!
  21. Thanks again guys! My plan is to build a car of Dale Sir from every year he raced. This is just the first one so I have a long way to go and a lot of searching and purchasing ahead of me. As well as focusing in on my skills to build cleaner and more detailed along the way. I started this build a couple years ago and put it down then picked it back up just recently to finish. So my skills were not so good when started and have improved as time went on. So while there is a lot on this build I'm not so proud of there are other things that came out pretty nice. Looking at this car enables me to do better with the next one and not make the same mistakes. I have another build that falls under this category as well that I've just picked back up to finish. Once I get it done I can focus on starting a fresh one with a better understanding of building a clean model starting with the basics, which these two builds are lacking.
  22. Thanks for the comments guys! Tommy: I use these ties for the build... Just use them like you normally would except once you get it through the hole bend it. Snip off the excess and paint black. I put a ball of paint on a fine brush to fill the hole in to make solid. The gentlemen, Terry, than runs MAS is in the process of moving from what I understand and his web site is down. You can still contact him through phone or email and I believe he is still filling orders and shipping. If some can confirm this that would be great! Also too Model Car Garage carries zip ties as well. I've never used them but they look about the same and you will prolly get the same results. http://www.modelcargarage.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=296&idcategory=15#details I found that during the build you can burn through them pretty quickly so on parts of the build that are not seen all that well I used regular wire of the same size. I started with two packs of the zip ties and the pic you see here is what's left. Here is a pic of where I used regular wire along the driver cage under the window net as opposed to the zip ties.
