  1. Thnx FG14,, its a cool kit to have. Cheers!
  2. Hi all,,its labor day already,,wow summer went pretty quick as always. Hope you all are having a good one,, up for review is the AMT 68' Camaro,,this kit has been around for quite awhile,,great features come with this kit,,mine had some general tooling/molding issues,,but the wonderful folks at Round 2 were very helpful at fixing the issues. Hats off to them. I wont bother going into it all,,no need to really. At any rate,,things I added that didnt come in kit: larger back tires,,scratch built carb scoop from a ww2 airplane drop tank, leaf spring riser lift pads to allow larger rear tires,,additional engine bay details. Sprayed w/testers quikdry turquoise using white primer,,it turned out more of a mint green,,which is cool. I was going to put the kit supplied stripes on it,,but after mocking it up w/body on chassis,,I liked it better without the stripes. Hand painted the rim detail, +,interior 2 tone work. Other than that,,its a real basic kit,,and looks great on the shelf! Thanks for looking and keep up the great works here! Skymnky over and out.. https://www.flickr.com/photos/153516536@N08/52333565774/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/153516536@N08/52333502848/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/153516536@N08/52333503828/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/153516536@N08/52333569264/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/153516536@N08/52333568639/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/153516536@N08/52333570459/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/153516536@N08/52333274121/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/153516536@N08/52333702610/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/153516536@N08/52333704475/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/153516536@N08/52333703575/
  3. Heck yea! Thanks for the comments all. Would love to drop the clutch at 6500 RPM in this Torino,,,better yet install a Boss 9 mtr in it,,fiberglass quarters+ hood,,plexaglass windows ect,,make it a "lightweight" torino! I can hear tires squealin already! Thanks all ,enjoy everybodys works on here. S
  4. Thanks,,not the red tool box that the guy is posing on. That tool bx didnt come in the kit,,its from another kit. I thought about making a tire rack mounted on top of cab/ramp area,,but it looked good as is. Fun kit,,thanks again
  5. Thanks so much guys,,I wish it had the separate rear end and driveline + shocks,,but hey its from back when tooling,,but still a fun kit to,do,,, and now up on the bench,,,,,AMT 68 Camaro,,,,,build on!
  6. Thanks for the comments,,there was probably more I could have done with it,,wheelie bars, parachute,,ect but it looks decent with what it has.,,now on to my AMT 68" Camaro,,w/a blower motor,,whoo hoo! Mint green metallic. Thanks again Build on!
  7. Thanks guys,,you guys rock also,,many great works on here. Lookin at it now,,I should have called it "MR-T" instead. I was going to do window trim,,but it looked cool without it. One drawback of the kit is,,if you look at underside pic,,you can see the rear axle just behind the diff,,had to drill axle holes further back to fit wheel well centers,,and I cut alot of material to open the rear wells + chassis by leaf springs also. Forgot to mention,,the carb intake stacks are Revell 1/12 scale motorcycle exsaust tips. And the entire outer perimeter of chassis went on a diet,, dremmeled 1/8th inch all the way around,,so I didnt have to fight the body when installed,,it just "dropped" in after that. So,,its a cool one for the shelf,,gotta do a diorama soon,,,HUmmmm,,,,? Thanks for the views + comments ,,,,Build on! S
  8. I hear ya,,I have the 1/20 MPC AMX kit ,built,,and a old Johan Dragon Lady AMX + the Johan amc scambler built,,but AMC kits are kindof hard to find,,I also have an original Pacer kit from back when built,,yours is wild,,wish I could airbrush like yours,,maybe someday Ill play around w/it. And do the printing of my own decals off the web would be good also. Id like to do a pro Street Marlin,,with fat rear slicks,,and some hillborn injection stacks stikin out of the hood! Lime green w/a light blue metalflake inset down the length of the side body center. Thanks for the inspirations! Build on! S
  9. Hobby Lobby has craft wire for flower arrangements thats perfect for wiring motors/lines,,cables. And the jewlery isle has rubber wrist bands,,that work great for motorcycle cables,,and the after market outlets too.
  10. Hey all,,hope the summers good for ya,,A recent kit from HL,,w/a few mods. Got this for 17$ on there 40% off week,,so not too bad. Rattlecan sprayed w/testors quikdry,,and some decals from leftover bx as are rims + tires. Scratch built front chin spoiler,,tach from leftover bx. Kindof a spin off of the King Cobra drag cars from the day,,a "what if car".. can never have enough Torinos,, Build on !
  11. LOL,,yes there just fine, actually that backdrop pic is a page from a Honda Goldwing ad from the dealership. Working on some diorama ideas lately,,thanks for lookin!
  12. {Note To Self} I really need to build a garage/race track Dia-rama,,I was just looking at the pics,,and it dawned on me: Why in the world would the owner of this ramp truck drive it thru the Grand Canyon,,and stop and unload? Moving right along,,,,,
  13. Thnx OCF,,oddly enough,,it didnt have the rear tire cover molded in the chassis,,otherwise that would have been more trimming for sure. And I dont remember seeing one to install in the kit,,I have heard of folks having to remove that cover. So maybe my kit is a different run /version of the kit? Not sure . Thnks again. S
  14. Thanks Espo,,yea the rear axle was an issue,,I mocked up the 2nd axle at rear and the axle heights were different {enter dremmel here} fixed that,,and I had to add an x-tra mounting tab at very back of chassis,,the 2 little tabs wouldnt support a solid weld to ramp. . And if you look at the front bumper{chassis underside pic} theres 2 mounting brackets I made to weld to frame,,otherwise it would have been a flood weld from behind the grill to cab to mount,,risking glue seepage to front grill area{ I hate that when that happens} So it was a challenge,,but hey for a 50 year old kit,,its just fine! Thnks, S
  15. I hear ya about bike cables,,they are a challenge. What Ive found is these flexabie jewlery braid things from Micheals crafts ,,or someone similar. There already black,,very flexable to wrap around frames and gas tanks ect,,and how I attach them is pretty simple,,you get about 10 in a package{6$},,you have to cut to length,,and simply use a electronic wire holder with alligator clips,,hold the end of the cable flush to the clutch or front brake pedal levers,,and do like 3 coats of superglue,,small amount each app to avoid the "wart" if you put a huge blob on. Let dry,,and it works pretty well,,no drilling//installing wire,,sometimes Ill use JB weld also. Hope this helps
  16. Hey folks, just finished this MPC Ramp Truck. had some minor issues with a few things, but nothing a dremmel couldnt take care of,,lol. I wont bother goin into it,,it turned out cool just the same. Ive always been a fan of the mid-late 60's and 70's Chevy trucks. So I kept the decals on cab to a minimun,,to enjoy the basic cab lines and design.Rattle can testors quik dry Firey orange,,Hardware store paint for chassis,,and hand painted details. The kit came with only 4 wire wheel rims,,so found 2 more in the leftovers parts bx. The Chevelle is an AMT pro street kit done a while back. All in all,,glad to have it on the shelf! Thanks for lookin,,build on!
  17. Thanks sir,,The only thing missing from the ignition set is the coil,,it normally mounts on a bracket on left side of mtr,,just between the tops of the 2 cylinders,, so I just use my imagination the the coil is tucked up underneath the seat or something,,lol Thanks S,,
  18. Thanks,,the motor and entire kit is 45-50 years old. There original parts mfg in the late 70's that Ive had for years from local swap meets. But they held up well to stripping w EZ off,,assembly + paint. Thanx for looking!
  19. So sorry bout your issues,,hope it gets better for ya soon. Sounds like you have some cool bikes. I sold my 06' KLR 650 awhile back,,miss it already. But CL has plenty of used bikes for sale now,,Maybe a DRZ 400,,or yamaha Bolt or 1200 Sportster HD would work. Best of luck to ya S
  20. Thanks guys,,looking at it now,,I should have dropped the front end a bit,,but I didnt have the original front clip that came with the original kit,,had to cut one from a completely different chassis from the leftovers bx. And the front axle is a street rod style. Which is why the mtr is so high overall, needing the round cutout hood,,,and I could have put a blower mtr in it,,but the duel quad looks ok too. It sortof looks like the Malco gasser + the Multi-maverick FC combined,,which looks good on the shelf! Thnx for lookin. S
  21. Happy Summer all,,,between mowing, yard fix up,,ect had some time to finish this "leftover parts box " Stang. I think its the ol MPC "Pro Street Mustang" from years ago. It has "Fun Dimensions" cast on the bottom of chassis,,so looked around on web and the only thing I could find was the MPC kit. It has the tilt nose front end,,but I attached the front ,,made it just a lift style setup. The Mtr is from parts leftovers bx as are the rims/tires,,axles,scratch built the wheelie bar set, egg crate grill,,and added some x-tra wing on back. And basic wiring ect. A 'what if" car,,but Ive seen some 1:1 vids on YT of similar cars. Fun cars indeed,,,now on to my brand new MPC 72 chevy ramp truck,,looks like a fun one,,Cheers. S
