All I have to say is that whether it's 100% correct or not, this is way better than the old way where the mfr. doesn't show the model builders anything until it hits the shelf - take it or leave it! It seems like a very brave move on the part of Moebius to expose their product to this level of scrutiny.

Where and when?

I think it was pretty much all of the early Trophy Series Ford kits. Like the '32, '36, '40, and the '34 pickup and probably the '25 T and some others. I'll have to go thru some of the kits that I have and compare. I'm thinking the way it worked is that if the stock engine was the basic Ford four or flathead V8 they all had the same engine mount points so their "modern" OHV replacement engines also fit those same mounting points.

Do we have to ID this one too?

Thanks everybody for the great comments. There were times that I wasn't sure it would work but I guess it did! The ram setup was in JoHan's '63 and '64 Chryslers - hard to find. The 45 rpm record player comes from the JoHan 1963 Plymouth hardtop - not the USA Oldies version, the one with customizing parts. Those show up on Ebay pretty often.

Just thought it would be cool to bash a '32 Vicky with the Ala Kart so I built it. Someone else combined a '32 Vicky with the Ala Kart and it was pretty but I thought it might look better with a little attitude. The engine is the Kart's small block Dodge Hemi with a JoHan Chrysler ram induction setup added. The top is chopped with a forward rake, 1960 Plymouth steering wheel, eight ball shifter, interior re-done with a lot of styrene stock,op-art uphostelry, Fred Cady decals, etc. Most everything else came in one of the kits or the other. Very nice! I've liked '61 Fords for a very long time like since 1961.

Very interesting stuff that I never knew! My favorite versions are the one kitted by Monogram and the early version with the Deuce radiator shell which looks pretty much like what Aurora kitted. Some of the other versions can cause severe eyestrain.

There could be another major thread about all the '32 Ford kits!

I don't know why separate Ventura and Catalina versions of the '61 Poncho are needed but basically all of those subjects have been crying out to be kitted for a long time. The '65 Plymouth is one that I've been wanting. Besides making excellent kits, Moebius seems to have a keen sense of the marketplace.

Not an expert, but as I've heard it, the twin engines kind of make up for not running fuel and if you're running fuel there's no advantage to twin engines because the limiting factor is not enough traction instead of not enough power. I don't know how the times for a twin engined gas dragster compared to a fueler back in the day.

Great job! I've been wanting to build one of those for a long time so I should go view your workbench thread. That's one of the last great "manly man" race cars before the mid engine Lotus and its dainty kin took over completely a couple of years later.

I believe the Lindberg '34 Ford pickup (born as an AMT kit) has the T-Bird version of the 430 engine. Once again, not very detailed but I think it could be improved pretty easily.

I like Harry's version better. They're both beautiful cars but Harry's version shows some Jag heritage.

I built one of those in 1961. You could always find good sales on year old 3 in1's - who wanted a year old model? Didn't do a very good job on it and don't know what ever happened to it. If anybody still has it now could you please return it to me? I promise to do better this time!
