  1. Just checked out their site and those bodies look great. Even if they need some cleanup it will probably be a lot less work than I have to do to convert old 1/32 shelf model kits. This will probably inspire me to build some new cars!
  2. Here you go! There's plenty of 'em on Ebay. The actual link is so long that I won't post it but this is how you get there once you're in Ebay-land. Toys & Hobbies> Models, Kits> Search Results for 'dog' And here's a seller with an Ebay store that has lots of different breeds in 1/25: http://stores.ebay.com/My-Shack-Diecast-and-Resin
  3. Hi, Mr. Snuffle. I love the name! Anyway, I don't know where you're located but I would recommend that you check the "Model Car Clubs" section of the forum and see if there are any clubs in your area. If so, I'm sure that they would enjoy demonstrating what to do and answering any questions that you can come up with. Good luck! I hope you enjoy this hobby as much as the rest of us.
  4. That has got STYLE!! I just love it!

    .

That's a great job! You both should be really proud. Of course, this is a little embarassing for all us Manly Macho Modelbuilders!
  6. Now that's what I call ORIGINAL box art. It even has the ad for the AMT lacquer that hasn't been available for decades!
  7. Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for. It's cheaper than what the Johan '63 Plymouths are going for on Ebay and I won't have to convert it from a Fury hardtop to a Savoy sedan. Beautiful!
  8. I guess the title just about says it all. I'm thinking about building the Melrose Missile III and I'm wondering if there are any '63 Plymouth 2 doors out there, preferably a Savoy 2 door sedan (post). What's the word?
  9. Thanks for the info. It'll be interesting to see your solution and how it comes out! Despite the challenges, it sure is a lot of fun converting the old 1/32 kits into slot cars. BTW, you did a great job of fitting and cleaning up that multi-piece body! It looks like it was molded in one piece.
  10. Endbell (If I can call you by your first name!), when you convert one of the old Revell 1/32 scale bodies how do you make windows for them? The kit recommended method of cutting from flat celluloid doesn't seem to work real well for the deep compound curves on things like the Chrysler.
  11. I'd love to see the build up when you're finished!! That kind of price is tuff on the wallet but I have to admit it looks like it's worth every bit of that! Resin casters have to cover their costs and pay the rent just like everybody else and that is definitely world class work.
  12. I love it! It's got that real gasser attitude and the color, uh, let's say it gets your attention!
  13. Gangsta was a style even back in the 50's!
  14. Well, somebody's been comin' up with all those car designs for the last 100 years or so!
  15. For microcar fans, here's a link to a most amusing video of the Peel P50. Enjoy! http://www.microcarmuseum.com/video/p50.html There are other great microcar videos at that site also.
  16. Most of the time I just smooth and paint the inside of the roof. Usually flat white so it reflects the most light onto the interior. To bring the detail up a little more, I'll put in a few ribs made from small Evergreen half round stock and also install sunvisors and maybe a dome light if desired. For a custom look the ribs could be foiled after painting. Other ideas (that I haven't done yet) might be to add grab handles or use some uphostelry pattern decals from Scalemotorsport.com to add a simulated texture.
  17. I've used PollyS paint remover on Modelhaus resin and had no problems. Still, I wouldn't let the part soak for longer than necessary.
  18. I'll second that -- BIGTIME! Of course, that "Fairbird" might hold me over until a GT Hawk gets mastered!
  19. That's fabulous!! And you did a great build. A blast from the past!
  20. The Rambler is totally cool! That paint scheme just looks natural on it - like the factory should've offered it. Hey, they made those things in Wisconsin didn't they?
  21. I saw the body on display at the Tiger Fest XIV contest on Saturday (had a great time). It's looking great! Even better in person than in the photos. I love the color.
  22. Is collecting a side effect of model car disease? I don't consider myself a collecter of model cars - I'm a builder - but I do collect things. My biggest collecting problem (is "challenge" more politically correct?) would be yo-yo's. I don't know how many I have - boxes full. I figure yo-yo's have been following me home for about 47 years now.
  23. I use Ace Hardware "Deluxe" black enamel. Comes in a big can for a little money and it's the fastest drying enamel I've ever used. Then I put the Alclad on with a few mist coats until it looks right. Took a while to get the hang of it but there were never any total failures. You just get a better effect with a little practice. Sometimes I spray it over white enamel and get a little different look.
  24. When he's finished I want to drive it!
