  1. Did I stumble into the "REAL OR MODEL" poll by mistake? I'm gonna say real on this one! Can't wait to find out the answer. No, I gonna change my vote. That's too good to be real!
  2. Luv them skeeters! Keep 'em coming! That's great work. I know that tube chassis fab like that is a lot tougher than it might look.
  3. Really great! It totally captures the dirt track look.
  4. That's a great looking build of a really unusual old kit. I love "outside the box" stuff!
  5. Matt, I checked out your Fotki and I really love your work. I've bookmarked it so I can get inspiration on future builds.
  6. Here's a monument to those kits that sit on the shelf and wait to get built. I bought this one in the 60's (1965?) and finally built it about a year ago. It was on a discount table at a local hobby shop. Low mileage, one owner 1960 Chrysler. It's been mildly customized with parts that came in the kit. Paint is Duplicolor Orange Mist and Duplicolor clear with a Krylon Dover White roof.
  7. Bare-Metal Foil sells both at their website! http://www.bare-metal.com/
  8. About 10 years ago, All American Models made a Cord Westchester sedan transkit for the Monogram Cord. They're no longer in business so it won't be easy to find but you can try watching for one on Ebay.
  9. Well, at least I can do work that looks like the "beginning" picture. Beautiful job! Looks truly real.
  10. That's really excellent work! It has that understated look that says "Real...not model."
  11. Beautiful build! I've been wanting to build one of those but I was so disappointed with the look of the wheels in the kit. You absolutely nailed it! Looks like I might have to suck it up and learn your wheel lacing technique!
  12. Great work! That is a drop dead gourgeous model of a drop dead gourgeous car!
  13. I'm sure he's not and he probably never even worked for Lindberg. The Cord, Auburn, and '48 Continental were all tooled up by Pyro in the late 50's and they weren't even very impressive back then. Lindberg's tooling from recent years is terrific but like a lot of companies they have all kinds of strange leftovers in the catalog!
  14. I say it's a model because I've just gotta be different!
  15. I need at least one more. You never even see them on Ebay any more!
  16. Holy cow! Having been around back in that day, I can tell you that's a SUPER 38 year old build!
  17. Remember, Harrypri said he doesn't Photoshop the cars/models, only the backgrounds! I already know this one but it's fun to follow it anyway!
  18. That looks great and so does the track. Is that your home track or a club track? ...Doh! I just realized you said you raced it at Pelican Park. I knew the track looked really nice!
  19. I know we recently had a poll about how to display the forum. Can you offer some tips to Harrypri? Real or Model is gonna be a lot of fun!
  20. When create a new topic there will be a box called "Poll Options" right below where you enter the topic title and description. Click on that and it should lead you through the steps. Now get busy making that first "Real or Model?" Everybody's waiting!
  21. Your avatar amuses me. I think we'll let you in. Welcome!
  22. I think some of you might be misinterpreting the numbers. Everything is compared to a mythical 100 that equals the internet average. For instance, the two bars that show male vs. female don't tell you anything about how many females we have as compared to males. It just shows that our percentage of males is well above the average for the internet and our percentage of females is well below the internet average. That sounds believable to me. In short, though, it's a pretty unclear way to present data. BTW, how did they get the data?
  23. Wow! I had already looked at the pictures thoroughly before I read the text and I didn't even suspect it was 1/43. You could've knocked me over with a feather!
  24. Great stuff! That Merc pickup is gonna be really cool. I hope our club can grow to the point that we have that much great hardware on the table at meetings!
  25. ModelMartin speaks with wisdom. I too knew absolutely nothing but I had a hunch that it was all at the hardware store and I was right! I think it took two trips and a little bit of time staring at pipe fittings to figure out what was best but they fixed me up for very little money. Bring your stuff with you and the helpful hardware man will take care of you.
