  1. Yoy quessed it right on. It is a swamp cooler, cool air delivery unit from fifties. Resin piece made by Modelhaus.
  2. Thanks! Rod started with 1/32 bug body that I shortened and chopped to make it 1/24 kids rod. Rest of the rod is combination of scratchbuilding and treasures from my parts box.
  3. So clean and so slammed. So Nice and so beautiful. VZ- logo adds a nice touch to it. Especially I like that roofrack and wooden boards! Well done!
  4. Really nice Eco, I like this one really much! There is something so cool weathering and lowering these models, isn´t there...
  5. Those aftermarket wheels & tyres are from Aoshima. I believe they are called " the kei parts " wheels & tyres. Hubcaps are from Hasegawa ´67 VW Bus.
  6. Yeah, there is 2 cassette tapes on the dash. They came from model car carage PE set containing strereo faces, ceedees and cassettes.
  7. Thanks for your kind words! The visor is scrachbuilt from piece of aluminium, it already had those louvers.
  8. Hey! I´m glad that this forum is back on it´s feet again. Few finnish modelers had a group building challence and all had to build their own version of Revell ( Germany ) VW T3 kit. Last release of this model was a Westfalia Camper kit. I started with that Westy Camper kit and made few modifications: Any comments and questions are welcomed as always.
  9. Thanks guys! This really was fun to build!
  10. Hello! I took Arii 1/32 Bug body, removed fenders, shortened and chopped a little bit and schratchbuild many parts..... And dug my partsbox very deep. Here you go: Buick drums are fake: Engine is a 125cc unit from 1/24 honda Super Cup- moped. There´s no suspension and there´s only one brake disc.. And here´s the finished model: And finally a 1/24 comparison shot: Thanks for looking! Questions and comments are welcomed.
  11. I didn´t chop it, Monogram did. I didn´t alter basic body proportions at all, only details.
  12. I build many of those as a kid, that was in the eighties. I sooo much like your models and not only for nostalgic reasons.
  13. Sleek and in harmony. Cool build!
  14. Thanks. Below a link to project pics: http://public.fotki.com/Antikka/baja-beast/
  15. This was MPC Wanted Van kit. I used grille surrounding from amt chevy van. Grille is from MPC Cannonball Run Ambulance kit, cut to fit to new grille opening.
  16. So this is a Monogram Baja Beast with lots of modifications: ...and one shot from the interior: Thanks for looking!
  17. Green flake, mild rake and lots of chrome... Decals from AMT and Revell kits, tamiya park green spray paint wiht few coats of tamiya pearl clear and gloss clear. Polished and waxed. Sun visor from A- team van, Modelhaus tyres, Revell ´32 Ford wheels. Thanks for looking!
  18. Wery clean work and great model!
  19. I think there´s not one sensible reason for that law. Vans that has been taken to street use 1980 or earlier, or weight more than 1,875 kg are restricted to 80 km/h speed limit. If van weights less than 1,875 kg or has been taken to street use 1981 or later it is restricted to 100 km/h speed limit. There are also several regulations for minimum dimensions of cargo area, all quite complicated.. Those protruding side markers are in fact turn signals. American style side marker lights were not allowed in our country, or at least red marker lights had to be changed to amber ones. Common practice is to remowe light bulbs from marker lights. Fender - assembled turn signals are a must. I took those turn signals from VW kit to represent cheap aftermerket ones that owner had to install in order to get this vans registered here in Finland. Also, american style sealed beam- headlights are not legal here because they show too much light upwards. So headlights must be replaced to european ones. Stupid.
  20. Finished this one today. Finnish plates and 80- badge which means that one can´t drive faster than 80 km/h with a van this old. Stupid finnish law... Satco whitewalls, older Dodge van hubcaps and nose drop. Older Dodge van grille with AMT Chevy Van custom grille surrounding. Comments and questions are more than welcomed, thanks for looking!
  21. So here´s mine: It´s the fastest I got.
  22. Rust looks good, overall appearance of this model is great. Maybe you should think of adding some straps to roofrack to hold those boxes and spare in place though.
  23. Thanks for your kind words! This model was finished so many years ago that I can´t remember what kind of blue I used. I remember that both blue and ivory were rattle can paints but no idea of paints manufacturer. All I can say that it wasn´t Testors or Tamiya, but I think it was an American manufacturer. Doesn´t help much, does it? That Saab 96 is a resin kit, manufacturer is local Air - Trax = two finnish quite excellent modelbuilders, Juha Airio and Tapani Rauramo.
