Thanks for your nice words!

Thank you all! Blue screen is made by adding blue tinted acetate sheet over clear acetate windshield. That blue tinted one is made by a company called Raboesch I think. I ordered blue, red, smoke and yellow tinted sheets from U.K. few years back. Sorry but I cant´n remember name of that online shop..

More pics: Thank you for watching, as always, questions and comments are welcomed.

Hi there! This one is lowered, sliced 3mm from side rocker panels, bellflower pipes, pegasus tyres, johan ´66 Caddy hubcaps, acetate windows, PE- scripts and some other changes. Paint: Tamiya spray TS-68 ( wooden deck tan ) + pearl clear sprayed from greater distange to achieve satin finish. On with the pics:

Thanks guys. Swamp cooler is casted in resin by Modelhaus. Sun visor is real thin aluminium sheet that I did dig from a pile of junk electronic devices many years ago. It already had those open louvers on it. Maybe it has made for a cooling unit of somekind. And yes, you can surf in the vawes of Baltic sea....

´57 Flat Air - a litlle bit of rock´n´roll in a kustom
Antikainen replied to Antikainen's topic in Model Cars
More pics: I added some PE- screwheads to the SF-sign. ( SF is the old Finnish metal sign telling you that this car is from Suomi - Finland. Nowadays it should be FIN- sticker but this is oldschool ride anyway. ) That kind of white on black- licence plate was used here on pre- 1972 cars. In newer cars those colors were opposite and now we have blue area with EU- symbol on the left side on black on white- plates. -
´57 Flat Air - a litlle bit of rock´n´roll in a kustom

Thank guys! This one was a quickie, it took five days of building time. I quess sometimes it's good to build fast without too much thinking. -
This is a snap- kit from Revell. Chopped, shaved, nosed, decked, interior mildly sectioned, frame stepped, custom grille and other minor modifications done. Tell me what you think of this one!
-
While this kit is really nice one to build in it´s box stock form, you have succesfully taken it to the next level! All this needs is just those small tricks you have done. Some shaving & lowering job + nice paint and that´s it. Really nice one!
-
Thank you all for your kind words! Those holes in the hood were ment to be cold air inlets but they came out more like hood ornaments, just a little kustom touch.
-
Here´s my version of this kit. Almost box stock, tyres from Revell ´68 Charger with whitewall stickers from Pegasus. Basic plumbing & wiring and few modifications. Color: Tamiya luftwaffe blue. Flame color: Tamiya pearl white & pearl clear. I used flame lazy Modeler flame masks. Allthought kit needed a lot of work I´m still quite happy with the result. Of course there´s many things that I now could do better and that´s the reason I´m planning to buid a Fleetline version in the near future. Questions and comments are welcomed as usual. Thanks for looking!

I´ve been following this build of yours in your FB- page. Your work simply amazes me. We have four local model clubs for kids here in South-Eastern Finland, and were currently having a " Built AMT ´51 Chevy " club project with about 45 to 50 Chevys on our workbenches. I am leading one of our clubs and building one kit for myself also. All this means that I am very familiar with all issues related to this kit and I´m doind a very humble bow here while studying your beautiful model.

Air-Trax Mercury Marauder X-100

Yes Tim, it is simply stunning! -
Nice one indeed! I have two of these, newest releases with a trailer. Both of my kits have a warping issue on top of drivers side front fender where the fender meets a pillar. Small issue but difficult to fix. It looks like body has been still too warm when bagged in its plastic bag with interior and chassis. Anyway, nice kit and your model looks great!
-
I now have both versions, uptop and ( downtop?) These are great kits, fine detailing and about 160 parts count makes them great when finished. The only difference between these two versions are the ragtop parts. Multipiece body seems to be easily assembled and I think it must be assembled before painting. Have to figure out the exact assembling process though because the instructions tell you to glue inner door panels to body sides before gluing body sides to interior floor and to other body panels. The engine is gm straight six " stowebolt " as it should be and chassis and suspension parts are pure gm from that era.

This still looks nice and fine kustom.

NIce color, is that Tamiya Olive Drab with clearcoat? Nice work with carbon fibre decals also.

Air-Trax Mercury Marauder X-100
Antikainen replied to Dave Toups's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I have this Marauder, three different Saab 96 kits, Triumph Herald, Peugeot 404, Taunus 17M, Volvo P1800, Volvo Amazon, Dodge Lancer STW, Simca Vedette, Dodge Mirada, Ford Cortina and Ford Anglia. Some older body castings are a bit thick, newer are thinner but castings are correct in all kits. I really can´t recommend these kits highly enough, they are simply said really nice kits. Many of these kits come with PE- parts also! -
Really nice model from a rare kit! Once I had an opportunity to buy that kit and I regret that I didn´t.

Someone on this forum mentioned that he would like to see more of my VW`s so here is one: I did this a while ago, Mr Model / Gunze Sangyo Karmann - Ghia. I did it in kinda sixties- custom / lowrider style I quess. Pegasus wheels and stock hubcaps, lowered to the max. I painted it with Tamiya lime green pearl over silver leaf base. Final layers were made with Tamiya clear. Rear glass and rear quarter vindows were cast as a same clear part with top. I didn´t want to go with clear top so I sprayed few mist coats of lime green pearl to top. Top is now supposed to look like tinted plexiglass custom top on a convertible. Oh, and those nice spun aluminium mirrors are from Mr. Modeller, Brazil. Thanks for looking these pics, comments are welcomed as always. Jarkko

Nice one, I have that same kit waiting on my stash also and your model sets my goal again a little bit higher. Good work!

Just like your ´60 Fury STW this one looks absolutely amazing! Great work!

Fantastic model! I really like old Johan kits, especially that one. I´ve build few of them as a kid and still have one striped ex glue bomb and one unstarted to build..

I thought I had an unique idea of building a low rider T-bolt. I googled if anyone had build something similar and found your impressive model. Nice work indeed! I like your way of using Finnish design on your model .
