Thanks guys! That "bombshell Betty"Buick was my inspiration. While many of my projects are complicated and time taking these quick curbsiders are really fun to build.

Hi! I did this salt flats racer 9 months ago as a part of our club project : " Build an AMT ´51 Chevy " I´ts a curbside, build just for the fun of it! Thanks for looking!

Bonneville Streamliner - Version 1.0 (Curbside)
Antikainen replied to Bernard Kron's topic in Model Cars
This is nice, like already said, it would be nice as it is now. It really doesn´t need more detailing. -
That build goes really over the edge! I appreciate the amount of work you have put into this build and like those handpainted graphics a lot. Personally I prefer more oldschool lowrider but I´m impressed from your work.

If someone is intersted of this sport I can translate rules in english.

Really? Pics of plastic junk? Meanwhile, here´s a link to our forum topic where these racers are presented. Text is in Finnisf of course but there are pics to look at: http://www.fcma.fi/FCMABBS/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=12254

Now we are just building these racers, first race will be held next spring. Rules are ready and the sport is just taking it´s shape.

Now this is kinda mix up of many kits. This could easily pass as a mad max- effected curbside model though it is infact a Modelrally race car in Modified class, build strictly according to rules and regulations of Modelrally. Modelrally is quite brainless but seriously fun sport which includes hitting these totally brush- painted and fully decaled race cars with croquet mallet one racer at time in order to finish first. Race cars race on a track of course. The track lines are drawn on sand with a stick or drawn on asphalt with various methods. Modelrally is a sport that me and my modelmaking buddies cooked up and it includes many unintented crashes and damages to race cars. This one was fun to build! Enought with talking, on to the pics: That lip on the rear is a hitting shield made of thin metal, demanded by the rules. Weird stuff.

Rear bumper is done with Kosutte gin san- metallizer powder over a light blue basecoat. Actually it doesn´t look blue when seen in nature. Of course comparison to bmf work next to it makes different shade to pop out.

Cannonball Run 2015 " The Sleeperball"

I´m still here with my GMC Motorhome! Nothing done yet except some dremel work to the body, remowing all toy like things from inside of body. Sorry, no pics yet. Since I now did finally get ´51 mercury ( see under glass ) finished I´ll have more time to get buried in the mysteries of high speed Motorhoming. -
Thanks for those extra pics. I may try similar wheels on my Peugeot concept electric vehicle when I´ll start building it. Like it´s ever going to happen?
-
Really nice work! Those rims are so deep that one can´t see all wheel / brake detailing from those pics so I´m asking if you could post a pic shot directly from the side of this model? Really, really nice work and great design elements ( I like especially front end design ) and high quality modelling!

More pics: Thanks for looking! As always, comments and questions are welcomed!

Cannonball Run 2015 " The Sleeperball"

Petetrucker07: Clever thinking with that loud exhaust noise problem. I was also thinking how to quiet down the nascar engine I was planning to use in my GMC Motorhome so maybe similar Gibson engine would work on my model also. I am planning to locate very large fuel tanks on both sides and inside the body since the lack of space in not a problem on Motorhome. Maybe there would be enough space left for assembling a small rocket engine on rear also. -

I got this one from Ebay several years ago, it was quite cheap because it's electric system is damaged. I have another one coming, also from Ebay and it was really cheap because it is in bad condition while complete. One can still find these in decent contidion and reasonable price allthought those in mint condition tend to be rather expensive. But hey, it's still only styrene and styrene is ment to be build, modified and dremeled. -

I´m in with something different: So this is HESS Training Van - a 1/25 scaled toy of 1978 GMC Motor Home. It will receive Bridgestone Dualliers and steel wheels from Aoshima London Taxi: Interior and chassis will of course have to be scratchbuild with strenghtened front wheel drive system from Johan Oldsmobile Toronado. As for an engine I was thinking something Nascar- big block, maybe with blower and nitrous. So basically I will use only body, bumpers, grille and driving lights from this toy. Everything else will be scratchbuit in a spartan way in order to reduce weight. Think of this as a Nascar styled motorhome that will look bone stock except mild lowering, steelies with dogdish hubcaps. -
Great news! Now I know what to do.
-
Saw this on FB and I have to say that you´ve done excellent job on this!
-
No, much more weird and insane but still a sleeper that will make that trip nicely and fast.. But let´s wait untill this race is officially started.
-
Sleeper theme gets my vote too, can´t wait to get started. I bet no one will have the same idea for this that I have!

Nice and well build model you have there. I like those headlights. The lack of decent headliner is giving in away for not being a real thing. Engine compartment is also nice, all the basic wiring is there and they are well done.

1951 CHEVROLET FLEETLINE CUSTOM - FINISHED - CLASS OF '51 - ENTRY #1
Antikainen replied to Ramfins59's topic in Model Cars
Assembling firewall and front inner fenders properly in place is really a big challence in this kit, after building a convertible version I know that. You've done fine job with this model, it looks good and well built. Congratulations for a battle won! -
Thanks! Lately I bought a 1/18 Die Cast 1971 Riviera, planning do something similar on it.
