Thanks for the kind words guys. I really appreciate your feedback and input. A couple of shots of the finished taillights. My camera is giving me fits later because its not wanting to focus in macro mode. I can get it to work properly once in a while. Maybe time for a new one although this one has served me so well. Five items on my to-do/complete list so this one is close to being wrapped up. Thanks for continued interest.

Funny, I've been hearing "She Loves My Automobile." Love this kit, I have one without fenders in my diorama and another on the shelf for a rainy day. I'm all in on watching this one come together. The alclad is a great improvement over the chrome.

Thanks James, Del, Virgil, Chris and David. Well David, I don't have that problem. Mine's made from balsa wood. I should really put on dual tires in the back and I've been considering this since I started this build. You may have just convinced me. Borrowed the DW's fancy EOS camera and took a few close-ups and here's the radiator after weathering it a bit. I'll need to experiment with her camera some more. I finished up the tail lights by finding some red lenses from the parts bin, added a few more items to the book shelf and am working on fabricating a soap dish and some fruit for the blue bowl. Pictures will be forthcoming. Please stay tuned.

Now that's how a T-bird should look. Lovin' the shiny Virg. Well built.

Thanks Wesley, Jim, Bryan, Andy and Dan. Some more bench time in and a few more details have been completed. Made a wooden box for the running board, just need to decide which side to put it on. Made a shovel out of printing plate with a balsa wood handle. Weathered it and made a double hook for it on the driver's side. Also weathered the chain and its now attached for good. Hopefully, more updates later tonight.

Thanks for the kind words guys. A bit of an update for you fellas. Got the rolled up tarps assembled and attached to the roof rack. I also added a chain on the passenger side of the cab but it still needs weathering. The actual hook was carved from a rivet shaft. Taillights are made, just need to make some red lenses for them. And I built a step and painted it the color of the truck. At this point, the exterior is mostly complete with the exception of some weathering and the lenses. I may make a couple of wooden storage boxes to go on each running board towards the rear fender. I'm also redoing one of the exterior posters because its too pixelated. A couple of shots to share. Thanks for your interest and input.

1/16 Scale Army Vega Funny Car - Finished 10/14/2018
gasser59 replied to Mooneyzs's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Yah heeeew!!! We've got paint!! Now that looks great and I'm sure it feels really good to have something out of the paint booth. -
A few progress photos to share with you guys although they were not taken outdoors. After work, I had grandson duty last night. Too fun. Some new items include year correct license plate, bedding, candle holder to the right of the sink, blue bowl which will get some fruit, full coffee cup, grab handle outside the entry door, both door handles and second outdoor step. Holy smokes, I need to dust. Thanks for your interest and comments welcomed.

Ha!! I don't think I'll be building the entire circus but that would be a fun project especially one depicting 1923 time frame. I took a quick pic of the boots once they were painted before they were glued in under the bed. The lighting isn't the best though. I didn't notice when I set up the shot that a hair was in the shot but it gives you an idea of scale. More to come...

Thanks guys. I appreciate the feedback, it keeps me going. I have the bad habit of not finishing my builds. I get about 90% or so and put it away and move onto the next build. Anyway, this one will get dome. I've a few more surprises up my sleeve so please continue to follow along. Well, I didn't get outside and take any new pictures so I'll get that done in the next few days. Stay tuned...

One is complete and one to go. These will be under the bed and be barely visible so the other one will be laying down.

Thanks Andy and Randy for the comments. Yes, I've got a poker in the works but hadn't thought of a ash bucket. Might be a bit tight in there since I didn't leave room for one. Have been busy and am really making some great progress. The finish line is now in sight. I got the roof painted, dull coated and installed. Its held on with tiny brass brads. Once the roof was done, I could then move onto making the stove pipe and Horizontal piece that goes through the wall. I wanted it to just miss the roof so it would come off easy and have clearance. After the installation of the stove, the wood box could go in. I decided to put the axe behind the wood pile and lean it in the corner. Spent a bit of time trying to figure out what to use to make a lantern for outside the back door and found just the right metal pieces. I used a piece of clear sprue tapered on my Dremel for the globe. Researched some vintage RB / B & B circus posters and sized them to fit for the rest of the interior and the exterior. Am now working on the bedding and am happy with the results so far. Still need to make a blanket and am looking for the right material in color and courseness. Here's a couple of shots taken outside in the sun. I wouldl have taken more but it was too hot and humid during the hot part of the day so I'll get a few more tonight. Thanks again for your interest and following along.

Oh yeah! Attitude all the way. Luv it.

Super Gas Cobra.....Complete, 11/24/2012
gasser59 replied to 1320wayne's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
This is the coolest Cobra I've ever seen. The stance and body modifications make this just right. I'm on board for the duration. -
This is one of the nicest Willys builds I've ever seen. Every bit about it is inspirational and I love the color on this car. Donn - you really do styrene justice.

Now that's just crazy as in 'crazy good.' That orange really makes it come to life.

Really diggin' this. This is progressing nicely and it looks great. Glad that you're leaving it a panel.

160 Inch Wheelbase Blown Fuel FED W.I.P. - Update 8-31
gasser59 replied to Bernard Kron's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Oh yeah. Another interesting vintage build from the bench of Bernard. I'm signed on for sure. -
Boring?? Nah, this is the fun part. Getting it to sit just right and the fabrication makes it a fun challenge. Carry on.

Thanks for the kind words gents. Really appreciate you guys following along. A bit more work done that I want to share with you all. The coffee pot has a coat of blue paint. It was made from the tapered metal end of a clickable ball point with the cap turned on my Stylus again and the handle and spout are made from printing plate. The wood box is also made from printing plate again and the lip around the edge is the insulation from a small wire that was split lengthwise, the wire removed and then slipped over the edge of the printing plate. The limbs were cut from a tree in the back yard. Enjoy and stay on board for more this weekend. Bunch more bench time planned.

Gentlemen - thanks for the kind comments and for your interest. This has been a really fun build for me. Hey Alan - I'm right there with you on remembering the old glass was really wavy and uneven. I used a fresh fruit clear plastic clamshell and found a ripply part that was free of scratches and cut that to size. I still need to do the window in the door but I'll do the same thing with that. I also just finished up the fire wood carrier last night and painted it so today it'll get the 'limbs' glued in. I also made up an axe for the exterior of the truck and will probably mount it to one of the running boards. Thx Gluhead for the article info search. Now I just need to find it for myself. I'd at least like to read it and see the pictures. Anyway you could scan it and send to my email? I'll trade you for the other stuff I plan on sending you. Thanks again guys and I'll have some update pics soon.
