  1. Thanks for your input Delton. I'll have to track down an issue or two of those magazines. Didn't know they existed. So who is this Aussie resin caster and does he have a web site? The injector bodies are what comes in the kit but I cut the top portion off and replaced with aluminum tubing. I figured I was going to need to make an air cleaner box so what is the Action car you speak of? I'll go ahead and paint the ss tubing a flat black to represent rubber. Great stuff, thanks for chiming in.
  2. I just keep coming back to this one and studying the most recent photos. Killer build all the way around. Do you consider it finished?
  3. Ahem....any new cool stuff to show us guys sitting in the front row? Some of them are getting itchy and throwing popcorn.
  4. Any new work on this build JWrass? You were off to such a good start.
  5. Any updates for us in the front row?
  6. Here it is from the top. Made the leaf springs from aluminum printing plate.
  7. Here's a completely scratch-built steering made from aluminum tubing, aluminum sheet, stainless steel tubing and Scale Hardware nuts and bolts. Its shown here upside down. This went on my 1/125th scale Walt's Puffer Too.
  8. A few pictures to show but minimal amount of detail work. The chassis took quite a bit of work adding the bumper, shock and wing mounts. Have a red distributor with red wires coming from M.A.D. so that will hold up the engine detail and have reordered the decals from Chief Joseph at Fireball Modelworks. The injector tubes are not glued in as they need straightening. Here we go with some pics. As always comments and input welcome.
  9. Johnny boy...I just knew your next update would be awesome after having the weekend to get some stuff accomplished and you didn't disappoint my friend. Stellar stuff.
  10. Well, the frame is finished and painted. Engine is painted and wouldn't you know it, I can't find the decal sheet. I need to add a few to the frame and engine before shooting with semi-gloss clear. The search continues.
  11. Mr. Mooneyz...come out where ever you are. I know you've got an update for us. Stop holding out on us. Olly olly ox in free.
  12. That came out great. Loving the color combination.
  13. Just found this and I'm in utter amazement. This is one of the best 1/16th scale dragsters I've ever seen built. You, sir, are a true master of your craft and would love to see a WIP on your next build. Outstanding stuff!!
  14. So glad you're back at this one Greg. Those tires and wheels look great as does the interior so far.
  15. Man you are just cranking out the details John. Looks great and I'm already looking forward to the next update.
  16. Work continues on the prepping the frame for all of the wing mounts, nerf bars, bumpers, etc. Getting close to primer painting and checking for issues.
  17. Its listed under my avatar at the left of every one of my posts.
  18. That right there is some stellar work my friend. Detail abounds. Trying to be patient for your next update, I'm not succeeding.
  19. Thanks so much Delton. In reviewing the reference photos I have, I see you are correct on the vertical tube on the right side. I moved the right side one and took out the left side. Was able to get some bench time in and have been working on the axles. Rear one is done which includes the brake. Front one is a DM product but with brass ends and all soldered together. Finishing up the alterations and other tasks on the frame then it will get a coat of primer and a then a coat of semi-gloss black. That's all for now.
  20. Thanks noname and Bob. The rivets on the driveshaft tunnel are actually only holes pushed in with a needle in my pin vice. No actual rivet. Some of the areas like the angled part of the firewall have rivets and those are from Scale Hardware which has since closed.
  21. I gotta do this and soon just to see how much of an improvement they can be over the kit wheels.
  22. Thanks Mike. That's a true statement about getting in the magazine.
  23. I saw that too Joe. Congrats to you on making the contest issue. I think they got the photos from an earlier DSC mixed up with these.
