  1. Sweet stuff Tim. That oil pan is a thing of beauty.
  2. Still adding a few minor items to this dio. Soldered up a wall hanger for a Mobilgas Peagus sign. The sign was printed on cardstock, cut out, placed another sign on the backside and covered with glossy packing tape to resemble the shininess of an enamel sign. One more radiator shell on the wall to go and this one's done. Thanks for following along.
  3. Looks spot-on brother. Now dirty up those wires a bit.
  4. Thanks guys. Just one more metal sign and I can put this back on the shelf.
  5. Worked on this a bit over the weekend, in fact I thought I was done and put it back in its glass case and realized I needed to cover up the glue marks from when I took down a poster. I added a few vintage posters up above the sink and dyno. I also added a few blue shop rags around the place. I did this with blue and white acrylic paint with a bit of white glue thrown in. Added the lug nuts from the rear wheel and placed on another shop rag. Finished up all the boxes for the upstairs storage area. And lastly, I had to add a 'girly' picture for a little motivation for the fellas. That was all of the items on my final checklist. Thanks for following along.
  6. Another milestone. Man, that looks so right. You're amazing me with all the little details on this build as well as all of the sourced materials you are using. Keep after it brother.
  7. Thanks Richard and Carl. I'm almost done with the updates. About time to pull another dio down off the shelf and add a few more things.
  8. Whoo - hoo!! 200 pages and counting. This has got to be some kind of record. Its gonna take at least another hundred before its done.
  9. A bit more done with the dolly in place loaded with boxes, a few more packages shoved off in the corner and on the upstairs shelves and made a cabinet above the sink with a few items in it. I took out the guy in the red and white sport jersey in front of the car. He didn't really fit in anyway plus he was lazy so Joe fired him. More to follow, stay tuned.
  10. Thanks brother.
  11. Friggin' update brother. Those decals look so good on there and with the bit of weathering, even better. The fuel line looks great too. Hope your AC gets fixed soon. No fun in the hot house. LOL
  12. Tim - put that thing on a gold chain and I'd wear it around my neck. That is pure visual jewelry. Very nicely done.
  13. I made the boxes by drawing them out in Illustrator on the computer and printing them on a paper grocery bag. The wheels were made with aluminum tubing, brass hubs soldered to the axle and a piece of sheet aluminum for the rear of the rim that was punched out with my MicroMark adjustable hole punch. I love that thing. They were weathered with some Black Folk Art paint. The dolly needs just a bit of weathering and some rubber tubing on the handle.
  14. Thanks so much Mark. Appreciate you taking the time to comment. A bit of time done on the dolly and a few package boxes. A few more packages to assemble and then I'll post some pictures of them in place.
  15. Exceptional piece of plating Tim, very impressive. Looks like in order to get results anywhere close to this, I'll need more experimentation with the Caswell system. Can you hook up a GoPro on your shoulder and relay the imagery right to my computer?
  16. Thanks Richard. More cardboard boxes are being made from grocery store paper bags. Stay tuned.
  17. Here's another shot of the dolly and wheels.
  18. Joe realized if he's going to order more inventory and keep the shelves stocked, he's going to need a dolly to transport the items into the shop. Built this out of brass rod and am using a couple of HO slot car rims along with a treaded tire that I cut in half to make two tires.
  19. Glad to hear it brother. Each step taken today is one less needed tomorrow.
  20. Outstanding...another milestone accomplished. Really nice with the chipped decal and a light wash should tone it down a bit.
  21. Don't kid yourself Chris, every small little update is a milestone. They all look sooo good.
  22. Moonman - still on hold for the moment. I know, you're really impatient but you're gonna need to hold on a bit longer.
  23. Another solution would be use a Micron fine point black marker using the edge f the above louver for the marker to rest against as you make your line.
  24. Pat - try a small chain instead of rope for your stanchions. Will drape much better.
